Reason it isn't a fuel bladder has something to do with the way the U.S. Laws define something to be used as a fuel container. It is not recommended to store fuel in this. Only keep fuel in it for your immediate trip concerns.
Great video. Finally somebody made one. I appreciate it. I got the 3g one, because it was on sale for $99...kinda wish I had the 2g instead but figure, I'll have the options this way anyway. I'll travel through Baja and...I'd rather have too much fuel than not enough down there you know and there are some LONG stretches with no gas or, some are OUT or whatever. Peace of mind is huge when traveling in other countries. Thanks for showing it. I'm 99% sure I would have done exactly as you did, and not realize how fast it would come out at that level, and get it on my tank also LOL. So again, thank you!
Awesome. Glad it helped!! I have it full right now while I am in coldfoot Alaska. Going to prudhoe bay today. I shouldn’t need it but like you said I bought it as an insurance policy. Or maybe help someone else out. Good luck on your trip!!
HEY! You can't use that thing in the USA! Meanwhile, I have 2-gal Armadillow bag that I'll be packing on a ride from Prineville, OR to Las Vegas NV. Thank you for the informative video. Mebbe see you at the 2024 BMWMOA Rally. Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down.
My 7L tank klx250 has a 250km road range. So I rolled-up the 2 gal. Armadillo bag and stuck it in my back-pack strapped to the back-rack going South on the Dempster. Filled the Armadillo bag at Eagle Plains and strapped it solid to the back-rack and just put the back-pack on my shoulders while resting the weight on the full Armadillo bag until I ran completely out of gas at the road-side airstrip. Emptied the entire Armadillo bag in the klx250. Rolled the bag back up and stuck it back in the back-pack while securing it to the rack. Off I went the entire distance to Dawson City. And closest bar-restaurant.😅
Thanks for doing this video. I wanted to buy one of these so I’m watching videos about them. Could I ask a few questions … 1.) Did I hear you say you put in 1.9 Gallons? … 2.) Was 1.9 Gallons below, at or above the Manx fill line? … I’m just curious if the max fill line on the bag is actually less than 2 gallons? Thanks.
Glad to help. It is a 2 gallon bag but I stopped at 1.9 gallons because I didn't want to spill any filling it. My method wasn't the most secure way to fill it. That would be the only down side about it I think. It is hard to fill. I took the bag to Alaska and back in July 2023. I used it twice although I didn't really need it at the end of the day, but I was glad I had the extra insurance.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels awesome. Was the 1.9 Gallons at or just below the fill line then? Is it a true 2 gallon bag … or is that max fill line less than 2 gallons?
@@redeemedadventures It was close. I am sure I could get more than 2 in it if I tried, but my thoughts are .1 gallon probably isn't going to matter if I am cutting it that close. lol.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels oh ya, I agree … 1.9 to 2.0 isn’t really gonna matter. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s actually a 2 Gallon bag in reality, or is that fill line less than 2 gallons? In other words if you fill the bag to the top it’s 2 gallons, but you you are not suppose to fill it to the top, only to the fill line. So, if you only fill it to the fill line, is that actually 2 gallons, or is it less?

Thanks for letting us learn from your experiences. 👍 Real life TH-cam is the best TH-cam.
I agree. Thanks!!
I definitely appreciate you doing this video, my bag arrives tomorrow
Welcome! It’s a nice bag. I never truly needed it but it was nice insurance to have
worked very well on our trip to Iceland
Cool. Worked for me too even though I really never needed it.

PS. I'm on a Tiger 900 Rally Pro and have it decked out in Mosko Moto gear too.

Thanks! Have fun at the rally!!
You could use your passenger pegs to hold it upright
Hadn't thought of that. Thanks
@PatsAdventuresTravels your welcome..let me know how it works for you
@@johnrussell9080 Will be a long time before I use this again. No huge trips planned anytime soon.

Yeah that does make it nice! The dempster was covered with smoke when I was there this summer
Any leaks while strapped on the bike?
No. It worked great the few times I used it during my Alaska trip in 2023. No regrets on the purchase.
I have the Armadillo, too. Haven’t needed it yet but have carried on a couple long rides.
I really haven’t needed it but I bought it just for this trip as an insurance policy
Good vid, I learned not to let you fill my tank! Lol just kidding good demo bro.
At least mine gets ridden
👨 you are going to Alaska? Can’t wait to see your videos about it! ❤🙏
I’m coldfoot right now and heading to prudhoe bay soon. Thanks
Said what! Wow! When I got my 2020 GSA that was the plan 😏, but I have no time right now because the college + family😂😭
Bag should be held upright and flex the nozzle into mc tank before slowly tilting the bag.😂
yeah thanks!
Thanks for giving us a real world test.
Welcome. This worked for me on my Alaska trip even though I never got low enough on fuel to have really needed it. It was a nice safety net!!

@@redeemedadventures Yes that way there's space left in the bag so you don't have gas pouring out of the cap as soon as you open it.
Curse of the BMW dirtbike small tank
@@matthewwalker6621 mine is the GSA so I wouldn’t call it small at 7.9 gallons
