    You’re exactly right about Polo Green. I’ve been wearing it since the mid 80s. It’s not been ruined by the reformulations - still great. I only wear it maybe a dozen times per year, but appreciate it every time I spray it.

  • @chadczternastek
    @chadczternastek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Polo Green I tried last year, after running out of my old vintage bottle I been skimming for years. To back it up I got a new one. Thought some things were off, as I consistently wore it now I had a lot. The new bottles are not even close to what they used to be. I'm smelling them side by side and it's really sad they do this kind of stuff. No reason to mess with such a unique scent. Used to be I would use the house phone, back when we used those, and I'd go to use it again later after work or the next morning and you could still smell the juice.
    Just to back me up on this. My mom used to literally hate this to death. It was banned from the house almost and I had to apply it outside before school and wash when I got home. She said it gave her extremely horrible headaches, and she just couldn't sniff a whiff. I wore this last month to my mom's and she knew right off the bat what I was wearing but she thought I just tried to wash it off and that was what was left. So go figure. They just watered the stuff down. Sad. So many classics and just the quality and every positive thing just gets diminished.

    2:12 I’m going to suggest you call this “two one two”, which was once the area code for NYC. With the advent of fax machines in the 80s, they added 718, which became the area code for Brooklyn and Queens. Then, with cell phones, they added more area codes. For a while, people made money by selling their 212 numbers, but no one cares enough these days to pay for one. (Did you notice that you started talking about this at two minutes, twelve seconds?)

    Make part 2.
    The way you feel about Polo Green is exactly the way that I feel from Gucci Pour Homme 1976. I've been ordering whatever I can afford of it from EBay and Etsy. And new (to me, at least) fragrances that I love are the scents from the Cremo line. I have their Bourbon & Oak and their Blue Cedar and Cypress products and will shortly receive their Silver Water and Birch.
    I'm also interested in your Mission line.
    I love stuff that's unique. I don't want to go anywhere smelling like everyone else. I want good (strong but fresh with longevity) and different.

    I've had that Pi in my collection for almost 15 years. To begin with, I loved it - and somehow still do - but today it kind of reminds me of a fragrance that would go well in a cigar/cognac lounge... and I don't smoke cigars and don't drink cognac.

  • @GHOST-cy7rc
    @GHOST-cy7rc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In other words :
    When a perfume bottle is so great that it does so well in the market, y'all just rank it lower as to you, it's no good cause it became to good.
    But what you don't realize is that, not everyone is so deep in the perfume enthusiasm like y'all who know every freaking scent there is. Lol.
    Also ; about 80% of men in American don't even frequently wear a perfume at all.
    Plus, there's multiple variables to a great perfume... The notes, the silage, the longevity and how it actually smells when mixed with the natural smell of your skin, and your sweat. There really is a simple reason so many people recurrently gravitate towards a select few bottles over the years, after trying out many others.
    Different people have varying sense of smell in certain instances... A smell one person finds to be sweet and fresh, another may find pungent and dirty.
    Dior Sauvage, Versace Eros and all other legendary bottles who's suffered same fate, deserves to be at the very top. Their popularity should be a testament of how good they really are in the real world, and not a negative attribute by which "pro" folks pulls them down in the rankings.

    I'm surprised Monika Cioch wasn't consulted on this video. I adore Terre D'hermes and 212 Men. They both have a natural earthy smell that I can't get enough of, but they are two of the most gorgeous fragrances I've ever smelled on a guy. Total catnip for women. Also totally agree on Givenchy Pi. Pronounced in french more like Ja-van-shee. Never did like that stuff on my husband. Now Jeremy is pushing it hard for some reason...

    I remember vividly about 12-14 years ago, having Sean John and getting the most compliments ever. Even my teachers would ask me and my friends all wanted to know my secret. But i wouldn't want anyone to know haha
