    This is a great list! I have a number of these on my Fall TBR, I can’t wait ✨ Another play that would be perfect for autumn might be Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe. I read it back in fall of 2020 and really enjoyed it!

      Yes I would love to read that one!! I know it's based off the legend as Goethe's Faust which is my favourite play of all time (so far ;))

    Autumnal literature truly is "rich and emotive."

    Hi! Loved this video, thank you so much. I just wanted to note that James Joyce is Irish and Cervantes is Spanish, so neither should be in the 'British' category 😊

      Good point! I meant to put Cervantes in the other 'European Literature' category, and I admit I put Joyce in the British category for simplicity's sake 😬

    Great list!! Thank you for including House of Seven Gables, yours is the only autumn list I’ve found that does.
    One more modern recommendation- Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
    I adored your opening monologue! New subscriber 🧡

    do you take notes on the books and articles you read? if so, would you mind explaining or making a video on it? ❤😊

    • @cleopatrickk
      @cleopatrickk  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I always take notes on articles, but for books, it depends. Generally, I don't take notes on fiction unless it's intense intellectually - for example, I would not take notes on Anne of Green Gables but I might on The Brothers Karamazov. For non-fiction books I often take notes. Sometimes note-taking can take the joy out of reading, so it also depends on how I'm feeling and what I'm reading for. I love the video idea! I might make one soon using The Iliad as an example.

      @@cleopatrickk Thank you! Yes i think my notetaking changes depending on the book i’m reading as well. Currently trying to find a good way to take notes on non-fiction (specifically literary criticism), would definitely love to see your approach! :)

    Wow. Have you read all of these?! Amazing. How? Tell me your secrets!

    • @cleopatrickk

      I've read 80% of them over the past 7 years or so (it helps when you're a Humanities student). The rest are on my TBR and have been recommended to me for autumn.
