Clay has hands down become my favorite member of the Meat Eater team/crew/shooters .. seems like an awesome guy, id love to go fishing & hunting with him even if it was just for squirrels, pigeons, rabbits , Racoons ect. Really hope he's here to stay & Meat Eater gets a slight revamp/clean up of everything from the shop, cars, offices ect
@@themilepodcast1132 100%. It's fantastic!!! I've listened to every single one. He just has that great storyteller voice and cadence. I really think he's just getting started.
I live in Missouri, and when it comes to you talking about home personally I believe that when it refers to home it's just a different creature. Because us as hunters ,it sets a whole different mood in our soul, our mindset is different than others, 9:58 and home holds a special place with us! And also I'm not ashamed to admit it. Love your videos keep it up❤❤❤!
Lost my dad in 2015 to brain cancer when I was 21! And as long as I can remember he would share the same love and passion for doe hunting in public and private ground in upstate New York where he was born as you do Mr.Clay!! Great work and outstanding video love everyone one of them
Hunting and fishing in your home "utah". Is the best thanks Clay. Thats so true. Love the pod cast aswell. Can't wait to see what's next from clay and the meateater south also meateater.
As someone that has hunted hard in the Ozarks of southern Missouri my whole life, this means alot. I relate to so much of what he says. Clay is awesome.
Loved this episode! I miss that country. Used to hunt the ozarks south of Harrrison AR all the time. RIght now the thunder chickens are probably SCREAMING there....sigh....good times. Deer turkey and even ELK!
Great episode! I, too, love Clay's appreciation of the Ozarks. I grew up and still living the Ozarks. I'm a part of the Ozarks and the Ozarks are part of me. So I appreciate his appreciation of it.
This episode was incredibly special to me. Growing up, I’ve always hunted in the Eastern part of Oklahoma. This is the foothills of the Ozarks and looks exactly similar to what you’re hunting in. Deer hunting here is just different. You have to put in a certain level of work and commitment to see and harvest good deer. There’s nothing like hunting deer in these hills. It’s Gods country.
Really enjoy Clay's content. Second only to Steve. I think part of it is they both have very unique voices, and both are very obviously quite knowledgeable
They have the huge narrator tone that u build a connection with just by their voice and knowledge alone. Let alone their professionalism and open mindedness
I became a HUGE - CLAY NEWCOMB fan years ago when he first started his YOU-TUBE channel,,,and am so glad to see him back in the spot light once again... My question is where is STEVE hiding out ??? - miss seeing him & hearing his take on these hunting adventures......
I learned more from Clay Newcomb than anybody when it comes to hunting. Bear Hunting Magazine is incredible. Great video. Love the public land / doe and creating that deer backpack.
I am from Missouri, and can totally relate to the love of the Ozark woods. I have lived all over the west, and still love coming home to hunt souther Missouri and northern Arkansas.
I’m sure it’s more difficult than Clay made it look but I sure should’ve tried that last year. I drug one out about a mile last season, a good reminder in lack of fitness
I've never been a such a journey, to be able to harvest my own. These last few years I've been more intrigued by the whole thing. I 'm not getting any younger. I realize I've just watched years of knowledge and that's what is stopping me. But qhatvthe heck, I've gotta start somewhere!
I hunt the rockies and foothills, and the flats of ag land in big sky country. It might seem boring, until youre in the hoodoos of drumheller with a blue, blue sky remembering that first mule deer with your dad.
That was the dopest way I've ever seen to carry a deer out. Definitely trying it this season, because I walk freaking miles. I'm afraid of heights so I spot and stalk or blind hunt
I find myself more and more intrigued in the vast contrast from eastern hunting to what I am used to out here in the west. On a public land mule deer hunt where I am, I may cover 10 miles in a day in a 5 million acre national forest while glassing vast expanses and never see another person, versus sitting in a tree 50 yards from a house. One is not inherently better than the other, just different. I celebrate the difference but wonder, what adventure is there in eastern hunting?
That's a cool idea for packing a deer out. I think I would prefer taking another 20 minutes to debone and pack out in a pack. Makes for a whole lot less ticks you got to pick off your body :). Thanks for sharing the hunt.
U GOTTA be in that 75-100 yard bubble of the bucks bed to have a shot before dark.. Cause they DO NOT get on a hurry when they go to feed in the evenings.. Except during rut when they're all over the place

Yup me too. Hate to say it but I like him more then Steve 😬😬🤷🤷 lol. Just an intelligent well spoken hillbilly. And I love it. So easy to listen to
I agree with yall both
100%
If you guys like Clay, I can’t recommend the Bear grease podcast enough if you’ve never listened, check it out

Clay is the man. Great addition to rinellas team.
Heck yeah!!!
100%
Clay is better than Rinella, hands down. Steve has grown to annoy the shit out of me most of the time.
@@OrdinaryAmerican Can't imagine that Clay will last in MeatEater too long. Steve's ego won't allow it
He's become my favorite meat eater member so far
I really like these Ozark White Tail videos, the Ozarks don't get enough love because they are really tough to hunt.
@Average GIJoe Outdoors imagine bragging about hunting farms 🤯
Clay hands down is my favorite member of Meat Eater. Love the Bear Grease Podcast.
I love the way Clay talks about the Ozarks .... that’s the same way I feel about the Mountains of western NC.
I love living in the Ozarks. Clay nailed his explanation and admiration for this region.
Gods gift to Arkansas

Glad to see my home state and my own personal hunting experiences be shared! Ozark woods on a calm cool day in the fall is magical!

Man they are, I live 30 minutes south of Harrison
We have a farm in Omaha…best kept secret in the US
Those rolling hills, ridges, valleys, and bluffs will always feel like home
Man you guys have no idea how much I love these videos ive seen some of the biggest bucks in the ozarks. The ozarks is truly a special place.
I haven't found anything on TH-cam that has all positive comments. I love meat eater. Keep up the good work.
Clay is a true outdoorsman I see inspiration in him
Great episode! I, too, love Clay's appreciation of the Ozarks. I grew up and still living the Ozarks. I'm a part of the Ozarks and the Ozarks are part of me. So I appreciate his appreciation of it.
I worked with Rusty probably 10 years ago at a factory so it’s funny I’m randomly coming across a hunting video featuring him.

I love this newest addition to MeatEater.
Appreciate you guys showing some public land action. It’s hands down the most challenging way to hunt.

Love these Clay hunts

Really lovin these videos with clay. Keep him around. I love what he stands for and the way he looks at life.
Clay you are a treasure..I hope you and your family have and get everything you ever want and need.
Enjoyed this hunt! One of the best camps ive been in!
I can remember many moons ago helping you drag a nice buck out of Public land! A great camp as well. I am proud of you my friend!
Man I’m so glad that I bought first lite! These guys are just so real to watch!
Thanks for the unexpected Ozark Hunt
I sometimes hunt in Pea Ridge Conservation area in Mo. 1.5 hours away from St. Louis. Ands just like this .
Deerbackpack was a gnarly idea! 🦌🏹🎒
I really enjoy clays videos!
I’m really digging the expansion of the meat eater crew
That’s true hunting right there I don’t care who you are, thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
I am from Missouri, and can totally relate to the love of the Ozark woods. I have lived all over the west, and still love coming home to hunt souther Missouri and northern Arkansas.
this has become one of my faves. thanks everyone at meateater. what an amazing show you bring us.
I love Clay this man has taught me so much stuff. Hopefully one day I can meet this soon to be legend of hunting.
Clay is a treasure. Such a good man.
Always exited when I get a meat eater notification
I love clays videos
Love clay. Your my favorite guy too watch outside Steve
Amazing video...brought back some memories from the ol' man 🙌 love seeing a seasoned hunter get excited for a doe on day 1 sir ❤
Nothing better then filling the freezer heck my dad always said you can't eat the antlers so freezer meat is more important then a rack on the wall
Holy smokes. This is so good. Great job y'all
Just a bit south and west, and that's my home in the Ouachitas . . . and got many good ones, does and bucks alike. Great video. Reminds me of home.
I'm glad too see Clay here but I really can't wait for more Bear Hunting Magazine videos! I know this has had to take up all kinds of his time though.
I’m sure it’s more difficult than Clay made it look but I sure should’ve tried that last year. I drug one out about a mile last season, a good reminder in lack of fitness
Personally, Clay is the best thing about Meateater

Waidmannsheil an greetings from Germany.
“There’s something deep inside the human that loves home,” couldn’t agree more.
That was great. Good hunt boys.
Love it!!! Keep em coming.
I love your content. I’m in Northeast Arkansas so it is awesome to see.
Boy this gets my blood pumping! Can’t wait for bow season!
Grew up in NWA and I had no idea it wasn’t good hunting haha. Always seem to be lots of dear around if you get out and explore a bit.
If I could double “like” this video, I would. Great episode. I hunt similar areas in southern Missouri.
I hunt the rockies and foothills, and the flats of ag land in big sky country. It might seem boring, until youre in the hoodoos of drumheller with a blue, blue sky remembering that first mule deer with your dad.
Shock pouching!!!!!! Love this idea.
I have seen/heard or the NZ backpack but this is a first
I might give deer hunting a try this year.
Did you?
very good, more of this please
Love it.
I love how this wasnt about a trophy, but just a normal guy on public land.
Im going to bridger institute this summer
Great show

Thank you - some of us - especially in areas where there is an overpopulation of white tails - hunt the does…
Great video.
"Palate of difficulty makes a great canvas" I had to pause the video and write that down!
Man, I love this!!!
I’m a little ole Ozark boy myself and currently turkey and morel hunting love clay so cool he’s in my back yard
This guy looks familiar like the guy who put Mike N. And I in a magazine when we were rabbit hunting.. 😉
Awesome video. Would love for Clay to do a short video explaining his tree stand set-up, look's awesome.
I'll keep this simple: Clay is awesome!
Man Love these Videos from Clay!!!! What Broad Head is that he's using on those Does?
Wonder if it’s legal to run a shock pouch as passenger on your motorcycle. Gas is expensive times are tough! 😂 may have to try it this fall.
That's a cool idea for packing a deer out. I think I would prefer taking another 20 minutes to debone and pack out in a pack. Makes for a whole lot less ticks you got to pick off your body :). Thanks for sharing the hunt.
Amazing! What is that hat with X ? Love it
“The pallet of difficulty is a great canvas to paint a picture of fanaticism”
God Bless AR and TX

Thanx
Clay seems like the kinda guy that everyone wants to be friends with.
Any archery deer on state lands is a trophy
still watching from NZ, .... Still wanting a "Bear Grease Hat". Can't order from anywhere but the states?.... C'mon STEVE!!
I need more clay in my life. It’s been over a week now
Is this the Rusty Johnson the predator calling and trapping lure guy?
That pack out method is ridiculous. Check out the pikau method we use in new zealand
"Rusty Johnson in the Ozarks" sounds like a fucking movie
Cant wait to make me a deer backpack
dude... shock pouch method. Why have I never seen this before. I'm gonna keep that trick in my back pocket
Kinda looks like the driftless area in Wisconsin where I hunt 😀 also Whackin and Stakin deer like wood lol Uncle Ted approved 👍 lol
What climbing sticks are you using clay?
This is the only kind of hunting I do any more. Nothing else comes close.
It always makes me laugh when people out east say deer camp and it’s a very nice modern home.
Are the arrows going straight through the deer or falling out??? By the way I know nothing about hunting
all the way through
Shooting three does is the toughest week of bow hunting you can remember? ….
