Ive found afew big buck beds that will be either between two boulders up high or against a big boulder that was down lower and especially if there's an overhanging bush thar they prefer to bed fairly consistently in the mountains south of you.
@@Javelinfisher NICE, that's where I am too. And I have learned it is SOOOO different than Texas, or Kansas, or any crop field hunting or feeder hunting. The bucks do not like to come out of the ridges.
It's been several years since I've looked it up but I used to hunt in the sandhills of North Carolina and found that deer preferred Post oak as well. Nutritionally they are superior to quercus alba.
If I see drew in the woods. I would have mixed emotions. I would like the fact he is looking for a buck where I hunt then again it would destroy my confidence of getting it.
We’re from Arkansas, yes and anywhere there’s a hill and holler in the Ozarks is a mountain region. Central Arkansas, to St Louis to NE Oklahoma, doesn’t matter to me
Thank you so much man I have been wanting someone from Arkansas to do a podcast and guests from Arkansas because I’m from Trumann Arkansas but I hunt up in mammoth springs which is the ozarks and it’s not like anything you hear of on TH-cam, this is so refreshing!!!!!
This guy is 💯 percent right, hunting Ozark bucks is a more difficult task than hunting white tails in other regions. I was born and raised in the Ozark mountains on Crooked Creek and hunting Ozark bucks is all I have ever none.
Heart of the Ozarks has some giants. Killing them with a gun is tough. Killing the monsters with archery equipment is almost impossible. I'm still kicking my own arse for not threading the needle on a 175 class mainframe 12 at 40 yards just south of Deer on the southern side of the Limestone valley.....
Hunt Southern Missouri he hits the nail on the head. The guys on southern outdoorsman are good too. I just wish the hosts didn't sit and dress so fruity.
Great guest Drew is a legend
How is he using doe estrus? He talks about it a lot. I thought they took that practice away.
@ I’ve heard him on other podcast talk about using it very early season
Y’all better listen to this man right here he’s the real deal
Drew is absolutely the real deal. He hammers big bucks evsry year.
The Dan Infalt of the Ozarks

@jeffborges7046 it's extremely tough and spooky deer, coupled with extreme low deer density and high pressure the last 4 years makes it tough.
@@Javelinfisher haha this month, 13 sits and nothing but does and yearlings.
