November, 2020 - I went Los Angeles to Harare, overnighted at the Bronte in Harare, then set off for Chitake and the floodplain. In about 8 days, we saw less than ten people and were all park staff. I had the park to myself and only wish I appreciated it then as much as I do now.
@@manoftheserengeti3052 Yes, an "alone in the wilderness" feeling is hard to come by, as many of the traditional places to experience it has become very popular.
Hi, I am a bit wary of sharing personal contact details on an open forum like TH-cam comments. If you ask questions in the comments I will attempt to answer, and can also recommend the Tracks4Africa forum as a source of good information.
@@overlandersa Ah no. I wouldn't share an email ID. But maybe a Google form link. Or a contact form. Whatever is easier. Tracks4Africa is brilliant though I see you're also into photography and Tracks4Africa is more 4x4 and overlapping centric. It's always good to interact with a fellow photographer.
@@SumeetMoghe Yes, it would be nice to interact, but I really can't think of a way to accomplish that. I'm not a user of Google Forms and do not have a contact form. Sorry.
Thanks! The campsite at Mana Pools is Nyamepi, which is a Zimparks campsite which can be booked via Zimparks central reservations. No power. The campsite at Matusadona was Matandere Springs - also a Zimparks campsite. No power or ablutions. Maabwe Bay is a private campsite and can be booked by contacting Margot Donalson on margotld@icloud.com, or phone/Whatsapp 00263776977446. I think they do have power. As we were there out of season we did not book beforehand.
Zimbabwe could have been the number one Africa adventure destination if it wasn't for poor administration. It has it all: remote Wild Parks, Zambezi river, Kariba dam, Vic Falls, etc.
I think Mana has seen the last of me. It’s just got too expensive. South Luangwa is only a day further away and wild life camp is 10 usd per night with hot showers, a restaurant & pool.
Yes, Mana Pools is certainly expensive, especially if you are only two people. If I remember correctly Chitake Springs would have been more than USD 250 per night, which was just too expensive for us. Wildlife Camp in South Luangwa is a great bargain, although a bit crowded. For a wilderness experience Central Kalahari and the Botswana side of Kgalagadi is even closer. Hwange is also a good option, where tourist density was lower than in Mana Pools.
Love the footage, editing, narration, but not the music. Ditch the music (which has no place in nature anyway) and save some effort! I prefer the sounds of nature (or the bakkie's engine!) Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated.
They do seem to be on the rebound. It is certainly a lot better than it was a few years ago.
That is good hear, as wild life fans, we want to enjoy nature in peace and tranquility.
Your blog is nothing short of a NG documentary, attention to detail is fantastic 🙏👏
Wow, thank you!
Wow! Great video, thank you for sharing! We love Mana Pools and the stunning campsites!
@@the_wildlife_travelers Thanks - I appreciate the compliment! It was a great experience.
Again an epic episode content next level. It feels I was with you guys all the way cheers
Thank you!
Lekker, lekker, lekker! Goeie mense op die pad is so 'n riem onder die hart ...
Inderdaad!

Grateful thanks for a realistic overview of Mana. What a glorious place.🙏🏾
Thank you!
Thanks for telling it like it is. Heading that way in a month (solo), at a 130$ a night, I will definitely give Mana a miss
Thanks, I trust that you will enjoy your trip!
I love your videos. Very informative. Thank you. Can you share a contact link on your channel, for people who may want to tap into your knowledge?

Hi. Great video - thanks for sharing. Which campsite is this and who did you contact to book? Is their power at the campsites?

Why do white South Africans go to Zimbabwe to complain? Go to UK for christ sake.
Do you just enjoy complaining about Zimbabwe? I don't get it. Go to Kruger national park.
@@henryhunter1876 Not complaining, rather feeling sad about it.
@@rooftile883 This is a country that has gone through hell. Its a miracle they still exist. Anyway thanks for the clarification.
Great video, but yoh that music is annoying. I thought it’d stop, but no

Even Mazoe now is expensive.....😢
@@beverleyriyeteWhere is Mazoe? It does not ring a bell...
@@overlandersa he is talking about Mazoe juice. A popular orange juice in Zim. Don't know why that came up.
Also try Gonarezhou National Park
