It made me understand what people liked about Star Wars when I hadn't understood it completely before. I also always have a big grin on my face when I watch it.
I don’t care about the Disney Star Wars hate, I love this film. Yes, it takes elements of A New Hope but I didn’t even realize those things until rewatches. I personally find this to be the most fun Star Wars film though it’s my 4th favorite film of the saga
My 2nd favourite mate! Love how fun this movie is and how much of a rollercoaster ride it is. I really don't care if it has elements of A New Hope because the movie is amazing. 😃
Yeah, I used to see it in more negative light, due to its lack of originality, but there's far more to it than that. For example, Kylo Ren's a relatable and sympathetic villain, and far more than simply a ripoff of Darth Vader. Aliens is also a great movie even though it incorporates similar story elements to its predecessor.
This is actually my favorite Star Wars movie. First Star Wars movie I have ever seen in theatre. The experience is amazing and I’m happy to watch it with my friends.
@@lakernation26 Doesnt matter the age it's our opinions but I do kinda agree like people born in the 80's or 90's are closer to the originals and prequels and not sequels
Meep Is Cool Well mate, let’s just say you see something I and many others cannot with Last Jedi. It’s your happiness and opinion on TLJ and only you can decide on it, not me and those others.
With the Rathtar sequence, every Star Wars movie has an unnecessary alien scene. The Force Awakens is my 3rd favourite Star Wars movie. It’s very entertaining with great visuals, characters and set pieces. This movie is also the reason I watched the OT and prequels, as Star Wars was only a thing I knew existed until I got hyped for TFA and decided to watch its predecessors beforehand

Hey Sean! You should rank all of the opening crawls in star wars when the rise of Skywalker comes out. It's something that all movies in the Skywalker saga has in common and I think it'll be new and fun!
Jesse Collins attack of the clones had to be one of the most boring experiences I’ve had with a movie. Only things I liked was the colosseum stuff, the jango plot line and the dooku fight.
JK Network definitely agree! I really like the story of the prequel trilogy most of the execution was pretty bad but the second one was terrible. I remember being an elementary school and getting angry on the inside how stupid the acting was after Aniken came back and told Padme he killed the Sand people women and children. Sometimes I get mad when people do things and they are terrible, I wasn’t mad because it ruined something I loved I was mad because it just really sucked and it got on my nerves.
JK Network The Vader suit looked unbelievable I wish they went with that suit in rogue one, rogue one is my favorite Star Wars film ever, I understand people like in Empire though. But the Vader suit look like a plastic toy in that movie but the scene where Aniken’s getting burned looks incredible
When The Force Awakens came out, I loved it. It was in my top 4 for Star Wars movies. Then The Last Jedi came out and sadly, that movie made TFA worse for me. I still really enjoy TFA, but it’s not top 4 anymore. If The Rise of Skywalker can fix what The Last Jedi screwed up, TFA could easily climb back up into my top tier of Star Wars films.

Thank you for being so fair. While it's ok to have issues with The Force Awakens, it gets old hearing people completely dismiss Rey or the Ep4 parallels and so on. It is well acted and felt genuine, which for me makes up for its faults.

Yeah, when I first watched it I didn’t see much comparison, but when you think about it’s very similar to the first Star Wars. It’s just like when I watched Secret life of pets, I didn’t see any movie comparisons but when you look back at it, it’s very similar to Toy Story.
phantom menace C attack of clones C- revenge of the sith B a new hope A empire strikes back A+ return of the jedi B+ force awaken A+ the last jedi B+ rogue one A- han solo B-
LEGO Obi Wan Kenobi I feel that after Solo finds the girl the movie just stops and becomes boring. I just did a star wars marathon and dropped my TFA grade to a B also
Compared to the last Jedi, the force awakens actually felt like a Star Wars, even though it does retreat a lot of it. Force awakens is just a fun nostalgic ride done well and while I think it could’ve been better, it still rejuvenated our love for Star Wars.
This is an interesting movie to me because it was the first SW film I saw in cinemas but overtime, I’ve grown to dislike it which is quite sad for me because I really liked it when it came out. It’s fun and entertaining no doubt and there were was a lot of plot and character arc setups that had a lot of potential but unfortunately, in December 2017, the execution of those setups were dreadful. Likewise, TFA hasn’t aged well for me, originally I saw it as a solid B+ film back in 2015(never understood the overhype for it from those calling it the best film ever) but it’s now a C+ to me because I just DO NOT buy the storyline that JJ Abrams picked for this film(funny because I buy heavily into ROTS’ main storyline but Sean here doesn’t, we’re total opposites! 😅). I do think there were so many other directions they could’ve gone that would’ve made sense rather than just a full rethread of ANH because it’ll feel like a total ripoff within the same franchise then. Also thanks to how TLJ handled those setups and arcs, I thought they were done horribly and completely put them all in a corner that I don’t think JJ will get out in next week and a half(I’m extremely skeptical of the film, I’m not excited when I should be because I’m hearing terrible things from it and I’m preparing myself to be extremely disappointed(hating it just in case), I’m sorry y’all) and because of what happened in TLJ, it makes everything that happened in TFA extremely pointless. I do respect you all reading this if you like/love this film because you have pure happiness I can never take away but for those who liked this film first and grown to dislike it because of plot choices in the film and further instalments, I understand you, I’m on the same page as you, no worries. 👍
I actually have my own star wars marathon planned. I'm seeing Episode 9 on the 21st. So, starting the 13th, I'm gonna watch Episodes 1 to 8. One film each day leading up to The Rise of Skywalker.
the conspiracy theory smart dude your not the only one lol. I quite like the twist and turns in the film and I think it’s one of the most engaging Star Wars films I don’t really get the hate for it but I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes it. :)
I didn’t like Last Jedi but there were some parts I did love namely the Throne Room and Crait. And I will say I did like where it ended with Resistance on its last leg leading up to this next one.
Unpopular opinion but I enjoyed this a little more then return of the Jedi. Yeah it’s a remake of a new hope and you can say what you want about the sequels as a whole but it brought the excitement of Star Wars back to me and I still have fun watching it.
I would say that Rey does grow as a character in that she learns to stop waiting for her family to come back to Jakku. Almost the entire film, she is trying to get back there, because she is clinging to the hope that her family will return. By the end, it seems that she's embraced the idea that, as Maz Kanata said, the belonging she seeks is not behind her, but ahead.
This was the first Star Wars film I ever saw in theater and it did not disappoint. Rogue One and Force Awakens are two of my favorite Star Wars films. Shame Last Jedi just ruined everything good about Force Awakens
I’m watching and I’ll share some thoughts in a video today or tomorrow I posted my schedule for the week on my community tab and social media each weekend.
Hey sean great video. I'm loving all of these reviews of the star wars Skywalker saga, they are great hype builders! Do you think rise of skywalker will be the best movie in the sequel trilogy?
Personally, I love the film. I was in 4th grade coming out of the theater loving it with my family. My ranking may be different by other people because I grew up with the clone wars, rebels, this Trilogy, the mandadlorian (sorry for the bad grammar), and the spin-offs. These reviews are short because I don’t have the time now So here’s my ranking: 10:AOTC: I find this movie ok, has bad and good moments, but the film feels too fast as for the plot and feels too long as a film. 9. TPM: I find this film better than number 10 by a little because this film Started a new awakening(pun intended) had memorable moments and some unnecessary stuff. The songs were one of the best star wars song(coming out with probably the most iconic original films songs ever) such as duel of the fates. 8. Solo: this movie I enjoy way more the TPM: there was only one story we followed, an unique story for a great franchise. Some of the plot was a mess and Maul was I think dum because he already died in rebels and at this point they were just milking fan service. I think they should make a sequels though. Good addition. 7: rouge One: how to properly make less than 3 sentences into a prequel. Casting was good but hard to remember the side characters besides the main new ones. 6:the force awakens: I already explain. I can say that JJ Abrams could of done something more original or have a different plot. But I still cared about the new characters especially Kylo Ren. For the rest of these, I might change the order but as of right now this is it: there are massive unpopular opinions here so please don’t hate on me once you see it. 5. the Return of the Jedi: it was a step back for me from TESB probably due to different Directors. This movie doesn’t have good paste(most of them don’t the best. I think ANH and TFA have the best pasting). I however had one of the greatest 3rd acts in film history. 4: The Empire Strikes back: one of the greatest sequels of all time, if not is. It’s a perfect sequel to ANH and had the 4 steps on how to make a perfect sequel. There’s a TH-camr names scriffasits, something like that. He makes dreamwork and Disney film reviews. I think he’s pretty cool. 3. TLJ: after the hyperspace sence, I said to myself, “this is my favorite Star Wars film.” I strongly believe the hate for this film is wrong and there are explanations for the hate. You don’t need to like the film, but you shouldn’t say it’s a bad film because you may of not understand everything that happen. You may say Harry Potter is a great film, but you may not like it because of film taste-buts. If some small details were different and some of the film was cut out and some delected scenes were added and my ideas on some good small details and sences. It would be my favorite of the SW franchise. This film also properly has some of my favorite sences in all of the Star Wars films(battles don’t count) like Yoda or that small sence with Finn and DJ and DJ just teaching Finn stuff that he never Ed learn from first order. 2. A new hope: I believe this film is the greatest film of all time when it comes to being new and have so much to add. This was the start of a great franchise. 1. Revenge of the sith. This film is a masterpiece and on one can change my mind. There were some bad sences, but it had some of the greatest sences in all of Star Wars. I got tickets for TROS on Christmas Eve, I’m really excited. Even if this film is bad or I don’t like compared to the others. I will still have an interest on what is new and how film will change the franchise as a whole. Thank you for reading. I have to do my homework now.
Yeah. I cannot take you seriously. TLJ hyperspace ramming scene ruined space fights in the saga. If this was such an effective tactic why wasn’t it used in the prior movies? There’s no dialogue or information as to why. But go ahead. Enjoy the pretty visuals. They definitely distract from the dumb plot holes and lore contradictions.
@@Avarn388 please stop it,TLJ bought out some the worst star wars fans. The guy can’t even say good things about it without ppl like you, either way, yall are just mad over your “loyalty” to star wars. @@Avarn388 and i bet u that u looked for TLJ so you can hate on him/her cause they even said not to hate on him/her for the unpopular opinions on the top 6
Excellent review. I always have a fun time watching it but the script needed a lot of work. Didn’t like TLJ but with JJ back I think TROS could be the best of the trilogy.
Yeah it’s a retread of a new hope. But I think it sort of needed to be. Disney had a lot to prove with this film so it made sense to play it safe and create a familiar story but with a few changes.
The prequels didn’t push identity politics over the story, the fight choreography in the prequels was far superior, and TFA didn’t have an original note throughout the entire runtime
Ben Larson except TFA didn’t push politics despite what you say about Rey in the film. And good choreography fights don’t make up for shitty dialogue, bad acting, terrible cgi and weak pacing. Revenge of the Sith is the only one that I consider genuinely good.
Ben Larson I don’t like the prequel fights personally. It’s more ballet dancing than fighting. The sequel trilogy has more realistic lightsaber fights.
I would have appreciated TFA more if: 1. It didn’t blatantly rip off A New Hope 2. They introduced almost ANY new ship designs for the Empire/First Order or the Rebellion. 3. Starkiller Base wasn’t a super weapon. 4. Kylo Ren’s obsession with Vader was more explained. 5. Luke’s appearance wasn’t just a tease. 6. Rey had more character development. And a million other things. I do really like this movie but it’s not aging well with me. The more I watch it the more it annoys me honestly. Abrams wasn’t bold enough.
Also, Kylo Ren losing to Rey because of his wound is not an adequate explanation because Dark Side users draw their strength from rage and pain and anger. This is exactly how Darth Maul survived being cut in half. Rey should have been rescued by Chewie or something like you said. But his wounds alone are not a strong enough argument to defend this scene, in my opinion.
This movie brought me back good times at the end of 2015, because not only I was going through a hard time in life before it came out, but it was the first Star Wars movie I’ve ever seen in the big screen, and I enjoyed it a lot
I say how good this movie is is completely dependent on what the sequel was. If episode 8 was a good sequel I think the force awakens is a great set up movie, with what we got with the last jedi this movie just feels like a waste of time
@@bradwright9477 I agree this is a very fun movie to watch, but it isn't a good one, it was an unoriginal set up movie to get fans hyped again that clearly backfired since they had no plan for any of the 'mysteries' set up in this movie
YoungYonk It’s a very good film. The direction, performances, characters, dialogue, cinematography, so much about it to praise. It deserves the love it gets
@@bradwright9477 well you may be right, and The Rise of Skywalker might be amazing, but at the end of the day if ya got a burger with a great bottom bun and top bun, if the meat inside is tainted it's still a shitty burger
overall i think TFA was very good, but not quite great. it did what it needed to do and set up great characters and a very intriguing story to be unraveled. if episode VIII was to TFA what Empire was to A New Hope, then it would be much more favorable than it is today. unfortunately, not only did TLJ outright throw away the story set ups of TFA, but it completely contradicted it thematically and destroyed the legacy of the original characters in the process. so by way of TLJ not being good, then TFA suffers as a consequence. at this point the best to be hoped for is that The Rise of Skywalker can scrape together some of the loose threads and tie them up somewhat close to how JJ originally intended
The only real bit of conflict Rey has is her back and forth decision on should I join the adventure, or should I wait for my parents, and even then it’s already resolved by Maz saying they’ll never come back really early on in the film
Hot take: this is my favorite movie of all time. No other movie I’ve ever seen has made me want to go back to theaters over and over again like this one did. Sure it’s not perfect, but to me it was life changing and really helped me love movies more than I already did.
I loved this movie. I understand your issues, and for the most part, I don’t have them. I love Kylo Ren’s character. He keeps getting deeper and deeper. It’s one of my favorites.
Not a popular opinion... but I really love this film! It’s sad that some of the stuff that happened in Last Jedi has tainted it a bit but I think it’s still a great ride from start to finish. My favorite Star Wars movie has always been the very first one so I enjoyed the similarities and I really think JJ captured much of that magic that New Hope had but with some fresh twists. I thought the new characters were all terrific and had wonderful chemistry together, very much like the original cast had. The only real glaring error in the movie was how easily Kylo Ren was defeated by Rey at the end. Up until then,he had the makings of a dangerous, intimidating villain... but unfortunately this was a sign of things to come in the next one!
This movie is really good, I get your problems with the movie but they’re very very specific problems that I rlly didn’t think deep Enough about to see these problems. I’m excited for the Last Jedi review!
When I look back on Force awakens it feels almost intentional that it’s beat for beat like A New Hope, but each character is either different or completely new like Finn. Of course their are a lot of plot holes, but it’s one of the better Disney Star Wars movies, even if Last Jedi did sabotage most of it. Really the only reason I started despising the Sequels is because of how Director’s like Rian Johnson handled criticism, I just wish they were like George Lucas, improving and learning from their mistakes-instead of rejecting constructive criticism and neglecting change.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the best film out of the 5 Disney Star Wars movies. Disney Star Wars: 1. The Last Jedi 9/10 2. The Force Awakens 8/10 3. Rise of the Skywalker 7.5/10 4. Rogue one 7/10 5. Solo 5/10
I don't mind the A New Hope parallels mainly due to its overall mixture of the familiar with the new elements, such as Stormtrooper turned good, a three-dimensional female Jedi, and deeper conflict with the antagonist. TFA is currently my favorite Disney Star Wars film because of its well-paced direction and remarkable action. As for worldbuilding (and watching TLJ afterwards), I view The First Order as a terrorist organization wanting to seize control of everything and the Resistance the Republic-authorized unit to protect order in the galaxy.
I worked at a theater and i was going to clean the theater, and some guy came out and asked me if I seen it yet and i said “No but i cant wait as soon as i am done cleaning the theater i get to watch it!” And he literally goes “oh man you are gonna cry when Han Solo dies!” And i just froze
This is an entertaining, fun, and cool movie that I can put on and really enjoy a lot of the things about it. It’s paced well, the action is cool, and it looks incredible, but a little too reminiscent to a new hope. That is some of the fun but it’s very obvious
Sean I am curious as to your take on the finale of the film. Aka Luke on the mountain as well as your take on the score of the film! Other than that loved the review and I agree that it is just a fun film to watch. I would argue it's the most reachable for that reason!
I had the same thing happen to me with Endgame. Some jerk who must've been at the premiere says, "Iron Man dies when he snaps to save everyone." this was on an ESPN page the Wednesday before the movie came out. I was so upset, and I knew it was going to happen as soon as they introduced Tony's daughter
Mark Hamill once said when he was originally reading the script he read when the light saber started wiggling in the snow and thought “hehe that’s my entrance!!” and I will never be able to get the thought of what could’ve been out of my head 😭😭😭😭
I think because of the prequels and how people feel about them, they wanted to give the audience a back to form with the template of new hope for force awakens
17:39 Can relate, I was typing something into the Google search bar, "why did...", and the first suggestion was "why did han solo die". Needless to say, I was angry that it wasn't even a fellow human who spoiled it, it was an algorithm that randomly generated a search suggestion. Ugh!
How’s it feel to have about 50 likes within one minute of uploading a video? I know that still got to be mind blowing and I was following you a long time ago, not to brag, and it’s really cool seeing how big your channels gotten... I also followed louder with Crowder when he had only about 200,000 subscribers! That’s pretty cool, too.
Ep 7 is one of my favorite movies - # 3 overall. Its fun, fast paced, enough fan service for old fans like me and feels like Star Wars. Also, the new main characters are memorable and engaging and well cast (as opposed to Hayden C as Anakin). I agree it is too much like the original and I did struggle with how quickly Rey caught on to the Force. Some of the peripheral stuff like R2-D2 conveniently walking up in the end, and Chewbacca not acknowledging Leia after Han's death was sloppy as well. But the most re-watchable Star Wars movie for me.
That must have been the worst getting spoiled like that! I always hate it when people spoil movies to other people that are very serious about this stuff. Like you said in you Avengers Endgame review, people were spoiling nonstop. Lucky, people like me steered clear of comment sections for both movies.
I don't love this movie, but my younger self watching the return of Star Wars in the big screen has to be one of my favorite and best movie theater experiences.
I haven’t liked the Disney Star Wars films, but this is ranked as my #4 on my list (and NO, I’m NOT wasting my time with Episode IX). Love the action scenes, look of it all, roller-coaster ride, and special effects...something Abrams always delivers. There are pros and cons in using nostalgia to sell your movie, of course, and there are some pretty massive flaws. Like you pointed out, what happened to the Empire and the Rebellion? Where did the Resistance and the First Order come from? And yeah, the Rathtar sequence was a lull, but keep in mind that even The Empire Strikes Back had a lull inside the asteroid monster. I don’t like the convenient writing, and while I loved Han in the older movies, he’s been turned into a deadbeat divorced dad who was killed off by his son on a bridge and tossed into one of those shafts that appear all over the galaxy. I like Rey as a person, too, but I wish she wasn’t such a Mary Sue (and yeah, she is, cause there’s no struggle ever for her). I also think that Kylo Ren is a whiny brat, more or less, with his tantrums. And again, I do enjoy this film quite a bit, but it’s unfortunately not only derivative of the original; it messes with what fans loved about Star Wars in the first place. People are always so quick to point the finger at The Last Jedi, but they should remember that many of THOSE issues started here.
IDK, the change in the appearance from the prequel trilogy to the original trilogy never seemed awkward to me. During the prequels, we were mainly looking at the big events and the people who were the most involved in these events, and these people were of high power, which would make sense for their/our surroundings to look mostly clean. But in the era of the Empire, we are looking at a galaxy that has been taken over by a cruel force and most of the characters of the OT are these people from the underground levels, there weren't a lot of people of high importance or power (besides Leia and Alderaan). And it can also be argued that even though the Republic was corrupt, the galaxy was not at conflict and it was relatively peaceful, but when the Empire came about, it disrupted a lot of things and the worlds/galaxy inevitably changed up a bit. Finally, there were some planets in the PT did have that "lived in" feel you were describing. Planets such as Tatooine, Geonosis, and Utapau. Finally, it was probably due to The Clone Wars and the Empire that the galaxy got so messed up. So, in universe, to me, the timeline makes sense. Overall, great review and I agree with all of your points. TFA was really good to me when I first saw it, but after a few rewatches I saw some of its flaws. Also, Finn visited a few villages before meeting Rey. You can see this in the montage of him walking through the desert.

Honestly TFA is one of the best Star Wars films

When The Force Awakens came out, I loved it. It was in my top 4 for Star Wars movies. Then The Last Jedi came out and sadly, that movie made TFA worse for me. I still really enjoy TFA, but it’s not top 4 anymore. If The Rise of Skywalker can fix what The Last Jedi screwed up, TFA could easily climb back up into my top tier of Star Wars films.
Force Awakens was pretty good in my opinion! Hoping Rise of the Skywalker will be good!
🤣🤣🤣
Rating: 9.5/10
Grade: A
Positives: fun, exciting, great opening, great action, great dialogue, great acting, never a dull moment, great visuals, cool costume design, cool, epic, good music, focused story, great new characters, great character development, lightsaber vision is interesting, nostalgic, emotional, great lightsaber duel, very rewatchable, feels like star wars, great chemistry between characters, fun characters, on your feet 3rd act, exciting action, cool plot twists, funny comedy, interesting ways to use the Force, expands the mythology, perfectly introduced the new trilogy
Negatives: Rathtar stuff was unnecessary, too safe, way too similar to A New Hope
Favorite part: opening scene or Han Solo death
Thank you for being so fair. While it's ok to have issues with The Force Awakens, it gets old hearing people completely dismiss Rey or the Ep4 parallels and so on. It is well acted and felt genuine, which for me makes up for its faults.
Last time I was this early Han Solo was still alive...
It's a great homage to A New Hope. It's not a ripoff.
Yes it is

Yeah, when I first watched it I didn’t see much comparison, but when you think about it’s very similar to the first Star Wars. It’s just like when I watched Secret life of pets, I didn’t see any movie comparisons but when you look back at it, it’s very similar to Toy Story.

Did anyone else catch how he said “description” at the start? I’m dying😂😂
Your videos are amazing, also no views 10 likes, and 3 comments, umm what?
Compared to the last Jedi, the force awakens actually felt like a Star Wars, even though it does retreat a lot of it. Force awakens is just a fun nostalgic ride done well and while I think it could’ve been better, it still rejuvenated our love for Star Wars.
I agree with everything you said
Love the thorough research you put into the backstory section of the video. Awesome work Sean!
Second favorite recent film of this time after Rouge one
The Force Awakens is basically the Taco Bell film of Star Wars.
Nah that's revenge of the sith
Anybody else know about sharknado: the FOURTH awakens
Dude we didn’t need a book for this. If you dislike it, fine. Some of us love it
This is the movie that put luke on the island
I actually have my own star wars marathon planned. I'm seeing Episode 9 on the 21st. So, starting the 13th, I'm gonna watch Episodes 1 to 8. One film each day leading up to The Rise of Skywalker.
Love your vids Sean!
Force Awakens is my favorite Disney Star Wars movie for right now
Avengers Fan mines the last Jedi 🙂
@@meapiscool1825 I thought I was the only one. Thanks for reassuring me that I'm not even more insane.
the conspiracy theory smart dude your not the only one lol.
Mr Films and Random not trying to alter your opinion or anything but what didn’t you like about it? Just interested.
Unpopular opinion but I enjoyed this a little more then return of the Jedi. Yeah it’s a remake of a new hope and you can say what you want about the sequels as a whole but it brought the excitement of Star Wars back to me and I still have fun watching it.
I love it too my man!
Force Awakens was cool but the last Jedi was absolutely terrible imo.
Agreed Force Awakens is like an A or A+ last Jedi a D
My ranking of the Disney SW films:
- Rogue One
- The Force Awakens
- The Last Jedi
- Solo
Regan the Rebel Flip Rogue One and The Force Awakens and you have my list. 😄
@Krypto 516 cool
This is honestly really over hated as a movie, my third favourite SW movie

9. Solo (D+)
8. AOTC (C-)
7. TPM (C-)
6. RO (C+)
5. ROTS (B-)
4. ROTJ (A-)
3. TFA (A)

Ethan Le my third favorite as well! Only 4 and 5 are above it for me
I think it’s because of the poor characters
Shane Hansen how you have this over revenge of the sith
Killmonger 26 I’ve actually come to really enjoy ROTS but I love JJ Abrams fast paced film making
This was the first Star Wars film I ever saw in theater and it did not disappoint. Rogue One and Force Awakens are two of my favorite Star Wars films. Shame Last Jedi just ruined everything good about Force Awakens
Hey Sean im a big fan just wondering if you are watching/reviewing Crisis on infinite earths? Would love to see you answer.
I’m watching and I’ll share some thoughts in a video today or tomorrow
I posted my schedule for the week on my community tab and social media each weekend.
Appreciate all that back story you certainly did your research on this one!
Yes!
It was the first star wars movie I saw in the theatre it holds a very speacial place in my heart
'Force Awakens is the most fun Star Wars movie.'
RoTS: 👀
Hey sean great video. I'm loving all of these reviews of the star wars Skywalker saga, they are great hype builders! Do you think rise of skywalker will be the best movie in the sequel trilogy?
I really don’t know
Last Jedi makes this movie hard to watch now. All they had to do with Last Jedi is fix the small problems with this one
Me: I sense a disturbance in the force. It’s as if a lot of crazed fanboys have began to troll.
Personally, I love the film. I was in 4th grade coming out of the theater loving it with my family. My ranking may be different by other people because I grew up with the clone wars, rebels, this Trilogy, the mandadlorian (sorry for the bad grammar), and the spin-offs. These reviews are short because I don’t have the time now So here’s my ranking:
10:AOTC: I find this movie ok, has bad and good moments, but the film feels too fast as for the plot and feels too long as a film.
TLJ is simply a love letter to SW with a few flaws that because of the fans, those flaws are a abomination now
@@Avarn388 and i bet u that u looked for TLJ so you can hate on him/her cause they even said not to hate on him/her for the unpopular opinions on the top 6
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the only Disney Star Wars movie worthy of being called a Star Wars movie.
Rogue one: am i a joke to you?
rogue one is 100000x better. especially the fact that it ties things from the prequels and the ot
Solo is good too. Idc what anyone says
Absolutely my most favorite Star Wars film I give it an A+
Excellent review.
The Force Awakens > The Prequels
*change my mind*
The prequels didn’t push identity politics over the story, the fight choreography in the prequels was far superior, and TFA didn’t have an original note throughout the entire runtime
Incredibles Fan2004 I agree but revenge of the Sith can be argued wether it’s better or not cause I actually enjoyed that movie.
It's much better made and written, but less original. People are more nostalgic for the prequels though.
I would have appreciated TFA more if:
1. It didn’t blatantly rip off A New Hope
Wow, what a background
Also, Kylo Ren losing to Rey because of his wound is not an adequate explanation because Dark Side users draw their strength from rage and pain and anger. This is exactly how Darth Maul survived being cut in half.
Rey should have been rescued by Chewie or something like you said. But his wounds alone are not a strong enough argument to defend this scene, in my opinion.
this was one of the movies i was most excited for and it is in my top 5 star wars movies
This movie brought me back good times at the end of 2015, because not only I was going through a hard time in life before it came out, but it was the first Star Wars movie I’ve ever seen in the big screen, and I enjoyed it a lot
Great review Sean!
I say how good this movie is is completely dependent on what the sequel was. If episode 8 was a good sequel I think the force awakens is a great set up movie, with what we got with the last jedi this movie just feels like a waste of time
Wholeheartedly disagree. Like or dislike TLJ, this movie is still a blast. And TROS will conclude it in interesting ways
Watched this again last week. I agree with you Sean, that it moves at Breakneck speed. That’s why I love this movie so much!
overall i think TFA was very good, but not quite great. it did what it needed to do and set up great characters and a very intriguing story to be unraveled. if episode VIII was to TFA what Empire was to A New Hope, then it would be much more favorable than it is today.
unfortunately, not only did TLJ outright throw away the story set ups of TFA, but it completely contradicted it thematically and destroyed the legacy of the original characters in the process. so by way of TLJ not being good, then TFA suffers as a consequence. at this point the best to be hoped for is that The Rise of Skywalker can scrape together some of the loose threads and tie them up somewhat close to how JJ originally intended
Thats awesome, man. I love this movie. It's in my top 30 for sure.
While it's not my favourite, I have to say that this one is the most fun to rewatch. I really enjoyed it.
@@RGamePlayXtreme Definitely. I doubt any will ever beat Empire Strikes Back as the best.
Wow Sean, 2 videos in 1 day!
You spoil us!
Disney Star Wars:
1. The Last Jedi 9/10
2. The Force Awakens 8/10
3. Rise of the Skywalker 7.5/10
4. Rogue one 7/10 5. Solo 5/10
Agreed
IMO, it’s Rogue One, then TFA, then Solo, and then TLJ
Nathan Smirthwaite I would say it’s tied with rogue one but it gets the tiebreaker because of Finn and how good he was in this film
Rogue One is easily the best Star Wars film Disney has made.
Rogue One is my favourite Star Wars film
Man that sucks
This is an entertaining, fun, and cool movie that I can put on and really enjoy a lot of the things about it. It’s paced well, the action is cool, and it looks incredible, but a little too reminiscent to a new hope. That is some of the fun but it’s very obvious
Love it! Sure it homages the original, but to me that’s not a bad thing. This movie is a roller coaster and I have a lot of fun with it!
Can’t wait for the new Star Wars!
Also do you plan on doing a ranking video of each arrowverse crossover? Great vid
Mark Hamill once said when he was originally reading the script he read when the light saber started wiggling in the snow and thought “hehe that’s my entrance!!” and I will never be able to get the thought of what could’ve been out of my head 😭😭😭😭
I’m interested to see what you think of TLJ. I like it even though there are some subplots and new characters that were pretty weak.
You’re looking like a stud today too! I love the subtle Mr. Fantastic grey. You look well rested as well.
These reviews super good 👍🏾
I think because of the prequels and how people feel about them, they wanted to give the audience a back to form with the template of new hope for force awakens
17:39 Can relate, I was typing something into the Google search bar, "why did...", and the first suggestion was "why did han solo die". Needless to say, I was angry that it wasn't even a fellow human who spoiled it, it was an algorithm that randomly generated a search suggestion. Ugh!
Great review! I agree with a lot of what you said in this review, basically sums up my feelings about it.
Yes SOME things just happen to be places- the droids in the first one just happen to get sold to Luke.
You can see this in the montage of him walking through the desert.
bruh I'm here sooo fast! Went from one vid to the next
