    I think she is way too harsh on the D90 review. I love mine, I have no trouble parking the SUV, I am used to big cars. It has a fantastic rear camera and sensors all around the car. The infotainment centre volume can be adjusted and who really cares if you have to use the volume control on the steering wheel and it clicks...turn it off, there is volume adjustments if you check out the settings. As for the side step...being as tall as this woman I use it purely to protect the side of the leather seat. The D90 has plenty of power even going up hills. It fits my 4 kids with plenty of room both in the 2nd and 3rd rows. The interior which she didn't like, everyone who checks mine out loves it...there was only 1 thing she said that I agree on and that's the fuel after you hit 100km left in the tank. It does go quicker than normal...other than that I have absolutely no problems with my D90. If you are thinking of buying the D90 take it for a test drive yourself and make your own decision

    I've been driven in an LDV before and I had no idea that it was a 'cheaper' brand of Chinese origin. Most of the comments on this thread are just racist, by people who still think Chinese = bad quality. Newsflash idiots: your iPhones are made in China, most of what is in your house is probably made in China. They are the world's leading engineers and manufacturers. How about you go try one of their cars before you completely dismiss a brand based purely on old racist opinions.

      @@andregolledge2304 Exactly. My DJI drone is expensive but it's worth every penny as I have had it for 5 years now and has really been the best thing I have ever owned. And mind blown, it's made in china so the stereotype of cheap and poor quality is getting outdated.

      Your statement is too broad.
      I buy heaps of gear from China.
      The quality between manufacturers varies greatly, even for similar products.
      Two of the criteria I'm looking for in a new car:
      Warranty time/km as (to me) this goes to confidence of the manufacturer.
      Service/support and accessories for the range.
      Try this for any brand of new car.
      Hello car support I need a new headlight, how much and when can I get one? Oh, and I'm on holidays in central Australia .
      IMPO.....That's the deal the separates car companies.
      I would have complained about rust issues on Chinese cars but after the Everest Trend issues, I better not.

Well built and when we bought it, nothing came even close, when comparing the very long list of features and the drive away price. To me, the Haval offers exceptional value for money. As an expat living in China, and a former owner of German, Japanese, Italian, American, and Chinese cars , I could maybe tell you this car offers value, quality, comfort even style. it has cons as well: service convenience and parts. typically chinese cars are not as reliable as Japanese, maybe on par with GM. buy for less, but service is a risk factor where you are. Other brand options of 7seater full size suvs are becoming available just this year: Haval H9, more rugged capable, Geely is offering one soon that would be the best perhaps in quality and design. there are countless others coming up but I'd recommend these two.

      Haval H9 was only rated 4 stars in the ANCAP tests, but D90 5 stars. So I reckon D90 is safer than H9. Also D90 is much more specious. If you are not doing serious 4D driving, D90 is a better choice IMO.

    The Japanese turned up in this market many years ago with micro cars that nobody took seriously, the Koreans with the Hyundai Excel, which nobody took seriously either, now our friends the Chinese have things like this, which are probably more impressive. Take note, ladies and gentlemen, they aren’t playing around.

    • @davidhamilton506

      That's correct. Their model range now quite extensive and very affordable. With quite attractive and innovative interiors, high Tech and safety features that befit European vehicles twice their price and more, they're going all out to corner the market. Geely is a good example with the release of the Geely Coolray S variant. All the good gear for 1,198,000 PH pesos, or in US Dollars, $23,000...

      As long as they don't have a service network you can forget about them.
      Car brands need a service network, that's what is expensive.
      Otherwise you've got a car you can throw away as soon as anything goes wrong.

    • @miskatonic6210
      @miskatonic6210 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It took japanese and koreans decades to build up a competitive service network and they had to throw millions over millions at it.
      Just importing cars is a piece of cake and doesn't make you competitive.
      You need to persuade thousands of dealers and mechanics that your brand is something to invest in.
      They will get there one day, but they can't just buy infrastructure over night. It will still take way more than a decade.

      I think calling the Chinese "Our friends" at the moment is pushing it a bit far.
      Given China has more territorial disputes than any other country on earth, and continues to pi!@ off India, Japan, Taiwan the Philippines and other nations through illegal territorial disputes...i'd say quite the opposite is true.
      Then of course there is the espionage issues and labelling Australians "Gum stuck to the bottom of our shoes".
      The Chinese government is not making many friends internationally at the moment and I would be concerned owning a Chinese vehcile if diplomacy further disintegrates. There could be a lot of angry people looking to take their frustration out on Chinese symbolic items here and abroad. They are already burning Chinese flags and goods in India. The same will happen here if the CCP don't pull their heads in.

      China doesn’t play by our rules and controls a good chunk of western media and controls many western politicians. They will eventually control enough politicians to become the shadow government of most western countries this century and starting with New Zealand.
      They are the new mafia but they do it exponentially better.
      As one of the consequences. I think the Chinese car industry is only getting bigger and you will see a massive amount of Chinese cars on our roads over the next few decades at least in NZ.

    Seems like an excellent value for money. 43 grands for 7 seaters and very decent interior. Given the price and the value you get, IMHO, this vehicle sole problem is the Chinese badge. Badge snobbery and prejudice will be the hurdle that this car should overcome. If someone stuck a Korean badge on its nose, I bet you would be rodomontading the car in your review. Nedahl Stelio. Thanks indeed. This huge Chinese SUV is a "fresh breeze" here in Oz! Saw many earlier iterations throughout China. Re 'CarsGuide Review Test Scores', one of my Son's In Law played suburban AFL ('Aussie Rules') as a 'Ruckman' (the really tall guy who contests the centre bounce), and his car experiences would be similar to your really (tall) husband. So! In awarding scores, I believe that your spouse completes the 'family team', ie. with you, at number 1(a). Mum, (& on occasion 1(b). as 'Single Nedahl), with "the Kids" at 2. So, I reckon it's only fitting to give 'Dad' score 3. [ps. hope this doesn't bust the CarsGuide plans, dreams & budget.]

    Good, it has a hatch door which opens up, not like some SUV's back door opens side ways.

    • @davidhamilton506
      @davidhamilton506 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where have you been hiding yourself?. Most all SUVs/MPVs rear tailgate/hatch opens up, with upmarket variants opening by remote, be it with the key fob, or waving a foot beneath the vehicle, and a button to close it. The only models that'll open from the side, are usually those SUVs with a spare tyre attached to the door, and mostly confined to earlier models. Any 2020 model released with a spare tyre attached, and side opening will be in a minority...

      @@davidhamilton506 You know vastly owned RAV 4, L/Cruiser Prado, and Haval H9 all use side opened tail gate, and that design is no good.

    • @davidhamilton506
      @davidhamilton506 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hujiaming6151 SUVs that have a spare tyre on the door will usually have side opening. Some of course have it both ways side opening and opens up. Some like the Citroen Picasso have the rear glass also as a separate hatch in combination with the tailgate opening up. So yes, I would agree that vastly owned popular makes as you describe will have it, but they are not the majority of SUVs around however, and my earlier comment was prompted by your initial comment as though you are not aufait with the huge array of models that have rear hatches that open up. Believe me, no offence was intended. I for one, do not consider a side opening rear door to be a disadvantage, especially if a heavy spare tyre is attached to it. Aside from that though, even without one, it's ideal for drivers who may be slightly built, and have trouble reaching up to grasp a hatch high up. Cheers, safe motoring...

    • @hujiaming6151
      @hujiaming6151 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidhamilton506 Unfortunately, kiddo, my point is actually hidden, now I clear it for u: most people have their garage sized as 6m by 5.5m, so if you do have a big SUV like that with 5 m in length, after you drive into your garage and closed garage door, and start to unload/load the cargo, with a 1.2 m long side door open, it is incredibly difficult to unload/load the cargo, especially big ones. And with your math been done, that door is too long to be fully opened up when garage door is closed, especially when u need some privacy unloading the cargo. That is a great drawback that turn buyers away like myself. On the other hand, hatch doors which open upward only has a 0.5 m in length extension, and very easy with unloading/loading after it is fully opened up, even in confined spaces like your own garage. So, which is better which is worse is quit clear.

    • @davidhamilton506
      @davidhamilton506 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hujiaming6151 At 79 years old, I'll take "kiddo" as a compliment. In Australia, the standard attached double Garage is also around 6 metres square, and I agree with you that it's not enough , as lengthwise it should be an extra one and a half metres. Like you, I too like to unload my monthly shop in private. I have a smaller SUV with a rear hatch that opens up, and to nose it in to give room for the Mrs to walk around the front to enter the house, the tailgate will not lift all the way, but contacts the garage door if it's down. Only solution is to reverse in, whereby the tailgate misses the back wall by 10 centimetres, and allows the garage door to be down with roughly the same clearance. Behind the rear wall is the lounge room which is quite large, so to reduce it's width by one and a half metres wouldn't be that noticeable, but would pay dividends to the garage usable space overall. Thanks for your feedback, cheers and stay safe...

They think all Chinese made stuff is cheap and nasty. They all want to buy Audi, BMW and Mercedes. They equate imported = better quality. However, I think differently. I have driven all the Chinese cars, they are sure, not as good as the more expensive ones (CX9 etc) But at an average of $20,000 cheaper for the same or higher spec, most people wouldn't know any different. If a car is just a means to an end, such as a repmobile then they are perfectly ok. BTW SIAC Motor has been building cars since 1949 and is the Chines equivalent to GM. Just think of the sort of cars Hyundai were building 20 years ago. The Chinese are treading the same path.
