It is everything I wanted in a RC car since the days all I could get was a Grasshopper or Hornet.
Im older now and was remembering my old RC days and was going to get an updated Hornet. But I could not forget about all the gear boxes I broke.
I seen this at the hobby shop and realized this was what I had always dreamed of.
The old days I just didnt have the money for hydrolic shock or bearing upgrades or time for NiCad batteries to charge. And again the solid rear end gear box kept breaking on me.
There is nothing wrong with this car, it should be considered one of the best Tamiya has ever made and it has independant suspension in the back no more gear box breaking!
So yea I got it and that was 3 years ago and its still going strong.
My hornet didnt make it a month

Nice video, i agree with all your ramblings. The Viper is a great entry level buggy. The only thing i dont like is the limited gearing options

Ive slowly been changing over everything to EC3/IC3 connectors but Ive never really ever had issues with the Tamiya Molex connectors so I use them for a while if they come pre installed

The sand viper came out when other companies were giving ready to race vehicles for cheap, I feel like the sand viper was there to help match those, grteat fun it looks like, but I feel like the competition at the time was far superior for performance,a nd sadly thats what the majority wanted, pure performance around those years,
i want to drive my holiday buggy, but salt roads are a nono for that one

I think Tamiya's accepted the fact that theyll never be able to compete with the others at this point and get by on being quirky and different, which I'm perfectly happy with

could be a receiver issue witht he moving...

Could be, though the receivers were fine in other cars and seems to only have issues with the TBLE-04S.. I have to investigate further
