    I did have the moza r9 for 4 months, and I did play a lot with it, but it had one major issue to me, it got really hot after 30 min of use. So I went to Micro Center to return it, and I got the thrustmaster t818 the same the ferrari edition. And I have to say.. Yes, the build quality is not as strong as other dd wheelbases, but once set up, this thing is just great, solid, and more important. It does the job very well. The immersion you get in the hands is very good, and it doesn't get hot . Also, I have not experienced the flex in the steering wheel. The ffb feels really, really good. If I have to compare to the moza r9, the moza feels flat. So far, so good with the t818.

      Yeah something people don't notice with 'bargain brands' like Moza, Cammus, PXN, etc., is they do not have a ton of detail in their FBB. Companies with a ton of experience like Thrustmaster, Logitech, Fanatec, Simucube, etc. have much much better drivers, a ton more support in games, and a ton more detail. Moza is great for getting DD and saving a buck, but I noticed they have wayyy less detail than the brands that have been doing this a while

    Thanks Shaun for this review ! I received mine on July 13th in Canada; a little more than a month after I received my Moza R9, I must say that I like the T818 better, it is more powerful, being constant 10 nm vs maybe 6-7 for the Moza ? I like the Moza Pit House software but it is a little tiresome to find settings that I enjoy, the Thrustmaster is so simple and effective ! :) will keep both for now, I keep alternating between the 2, the Moza with CRP pedals and the Thrustmaster with Fanatec Clubsport v3 each on their own Next Level racing cockpits...glad my lovely wife loves me ! :)

    How does it compare in FFB between the Moza R12 and Logitech?

    it's a bit of a shame that it's not for consoles, and that it still doesnt support and all in one input hub so i can plug my TSS handbrake 'in handbrake mode'. Would still have to use 2 usb's unlike Fanatec.

    Its painful just waiting to know weather or not we are getting a console DD from thrustmaster.

    I have the SF1000 and the 488 GT3 wheel and wanted to buy the T818 base, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea 🤔

      How is the SF1000 and 488 GT3? The reason I ask is because I currently have the TS-PC Racer, and I do want to get a new wheel, because I am bored with the Open Wheel. But since this is the only wheel I have, I am not tied into the thrustmaster ecosystem, so I can switch over and it not be a huge deal.

      @Cnlne exactly, lol. I was planning to buy a fanatec setup as well, but I thought I would rather just buy the tlcm pedals and wait for a console compatible t818.

      Tm didn’t release peak number but constant at 10 nm so peak should be on par with Logitech, but I’m not 100#

    • @alecmillea4539
      @alecmillea4539 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From other reviews I’ve seen it’s comparable to the Logitech on straight ffb but the “trueforce” of the Logitech pushes it ahead. As fireonmytarget mentioned neither is the best option for the money. Moza R12 is a better budget option, asetek la prima is a better higher end option for similar money. Depending on region the simagic alpha mini is a great high quality and budget Friendly option too. If you’re in Canada simagic is best for the money. I can’t speak for elsewhere in the world. Check prices in your region. On ffb from best to worst I’d say, asetek/simagic, then Logitech, TM, Moza. On build quality simagic/asetek/Moza tied and then TM/Logitech tied.

    Instead of saying “Reinforced plastic” just say Nylon, if not nylon then it's just plastic.

  • @orangesimdriver
    @orangesimdriver ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a terrible product.
    I had the T818 and asking for a refound just 4/5 days after.
    I don't wanna talk about the plastic or the design or even the overall quality itself.
    The main problem are the 4 holes on the bottom for mounting which 2 of them are not stiff and if you press them with your fingers you'll notice a big flex (and that's metal).
    The result is a powerful 10Nm Servo Base who gonna make your RIG full of vibrations that cannot be dissipated by the mounting.
    Probably next year I will move on Fanatec.

  • @MrKrampyHands
    @MrKrampyHands ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yeah lots of plastic at this price is a huge no no and a fatty huge deal breaker for me I'll stick to Moza

    • @HappyWheelFan2013
      @HappyWheelFan2013 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Trust me, this'll feel better than every Moza wheel as far as detail goes. Keep in mind Moza is a "budget" focused brand that has not been making steering wheel drivers nearly as long as the other current mainstream companies. This wheel feels way better than any Moza I've tried (which was the R5 and I think R12.) That's not to say Moza feels bad, it doesn't. It's great for the price point, but they get to the price point by under-developing software like a lot of the Chinese market brands that are emerging. Companies like Thrustmaster or Logitech get to the price point by over-developing and figuring out how to use FRP (the plastic) very cleverly. This wheel doesn't flex virtually at all during actual use. Of course you can flex it on purpose but nobody drives a car by pulling it the way you'd have to. If you like Thrustmaster's ecosystem then see if you could manage to try a t818 out. If you prefer Moza's ecosystem, which is definitely way better when it comes to pedals and even wheel add-on build quality, then stick with em. They're great and obviously more tough, but Thrustmaster is 100% tough enough for long term use, just not as tough as some other brands like Moza. They both have their trade-offs to compete with market pricing

      Lol don't know why some people give two shits about the "material on the base body".... especially when it's obvious this construction is perfectly fine. the focus should be on the feedback performance, which this has countlessly proved to be very high level fornthe money.
