Thank you for posting this. I booked a deck 9 Excel Aft Suite on the Jubilee in 2026 ASSUMING that the back of the ship would be like most others I've been on - private. Your video made me immediately check the deck plan because deck 9 was the only one they had available for the date I wanted. I canceled and re-booked the same suite, but on deck 15 on a different date. There is ZERO privacy on deck 9 balconies. Everyone on deck 8 can see your entire balcony and into your cabin. Probably not a lot of privacy on deck 10 either. I would have preferred deck 14 so there would be a cabin above us and not the Serenity deck, but I figure it will be quiet while we're trying to sleep. Deck 9 noise is a problem, but the lack of privacy is WORSE, especially with a soaking tub out there! Aft corner suites used to be the best cabins for privacy, but the design of the new ships has ruined that aspect, sadly. Again, thanks for posting this!

I totally understand. That has happened to me before. I didn’t do my research and picked a location that was noisy. It was under a club/bar. We couldn’t sleep at night. I complained to Carnival and received an onboard credit of $300 on a future cruise.
Great video. We booked a "standard" Excel suite on a higher deck midship in 2022. I was hoping to get one an aft suite but after watching this video f that.
Oh hun, the best location for Aft Facing Balconies is deck 11 and higher but not under the Captain’s Bridge due to obstruction. But you can always contact a reputable travel agent for any help. I work with Expedia and have lots of info on the new ships. Good luck and happy cruising!!
I had an aft on deck 11 and swapped it out this week - the balcony walls aren't glass! There's no way that I can sit on that huge gorgeous balcony and see the water.

My wife booked the same cabin but on the 14th floor hope it’s better up there. The last we were on was the horizon it was really nice food was great but the elevators were slower than on the vista Oct 16 2021
great points! where can i find better exterior images of the mardi gras? I was looking at booking something on deck 9 but want to make sure it is not directly above Guy's. We try to get a room that has staterooms both above and below, but with the size of this ship, I want to be a little closer to the halfway point for the number of decks.

Canceled the MSC so I can get my money back before Christmas. Not taking any chances. Booked a spring break MSC cruise and then Mardi Gras in July. Still doing the excel but not the aft or 9th deck. Hang in there. Love the Vista.

Maybe book a Princess Cruise if you can’t stay up that late. I have a hard time thinking you booked a 8k room but use a $2 green sheet as your back drop.
Truth is stranger than fiction my friend. Btw the green screen sheet was $1.50 at a garage sale. Love the comment good or bad it moves the TH-cam algorithm in my favor.
This is probably why he can spend $8k without thinking about it on a cruise. Spend wisely - live grand! People get too wrapped up on "THINGS"; instead of, creating memories!!! Who cares, if the sheet cost $2 and/or if it was FREE? His content is AWESOME!
Jeff, we have been on Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean, we live in Florida and was thinking about a MSC Seaside cruise, but we're a little worried that it will be too different than what we're used to. We only take one or maybe two cruises a year, and don't want to waste a cruise on one we may not enjoy, any feed back on MSC would be greatly appreciated Thanks Tom
Tom I too was in your situation sometime ago. I heard mixed reviews about MSC, most of them referred to the ship when it first arrived in Florida. Let me assure you the MSC ships are no longer plagued by the problems they had when they first came to market. The MSC Seaside for one is more grander and opulent than any Carnival ship at sea. That said it really depends on what you like. If being around a racious drinking and partying crowd is your thing then it will never be for you. If you require everything to be American including people, food and entertainment then it is definitely not for you. The best information in give you is this, if you enjoy international travel you will feel comfortable if not then it may not be a good fit. The only way you will know for sure is to try it. No ship is perfect but an open mind and a willingness to experience things off the beaten path, you will find MSC to be one of the best kept secrets at sea. Hope that helps. Whatever you do, however you do it, please celebrate life.
@@AlwaysBeCruising Hey Jeff, just thought I would drop a line to you on what we decided, Well after we discussed it, and then discussed some more, we decided to book on the MSC Seaside for Aug 21 2021, since it is our first cruising with MSC and I really need this cruise to go well, being its during my wife's birthday you understand, I decided to go with the Yacht Club Deluxe Suite. After considering all the perks that come with the Yacht Club package not to mention the price wasn't bad at all comparing it to say the "Navigator of the seas. We really couldn't pass up the opportunity, you think the champagne bar is included, sure hope so. After watching your video on drinking 10k worth on the MSC Seaside I'm sorta interested in giving that ago, lol. Also we do enjoy the old stage shows, musicals like back before all the light shows that blind you started dominating the ships. Well anyway thanks for your help, Tom
@@todd0763 Nice choice. You are going to be blown away by the Seaside she is an elegant ship. The Yacht Club is a different story. It is a ship within a ship, butler, bar, restaurant, reserved theatre seats, lounge, etc...It such a step up that it may seem that the other passengers are in steerage compared to your digs. I don't know if the champagne bar is included because I didn't bother checking since my plan included it. I think you should ask and get a definitive answer. In all my years of cruising I never had an add on that brought so much delightful joy, "magnifico." While other ships make it seem that you are getting a good deal with their drinks package, the question that should be asked is, "compared to what?" Well after going on the Seaside drinks packages from other cruise lines will no longer seem such a good deal. Hopefully, we will get back to cruising soon. Oh. a happy belated birthday to the wife. Remember, CELEBRATE LIFE.

Hey Jeff, just watched your video, if you think that’s bad our agency had a group booked out of NY in Sept 2020 and of course we all know about the delay. We had to cancel all of those bookings and I was so upset, that was going to pay for my cabin in the Havana. @@AlwaysBeCruising I was just looking at the deck plans for the ship. From the schematic provided, you would never know it was set up that way. I assumed the balconies of those rooms were directly overlooking the ocean at the back of the ship, because that's how it looks on the schematic. I would have canceled, too.
Jeff sounds like you need a travel agent to start researching and booking your vacations. If so let Sweet Trinity Travels do the leg work for you so that you want experience this type of problem again.

I'm just 5 min n2 video but why does those rooms matter? Do u leave ur room? Its SOOOOO Much to do on the ship so why pay so much for a room? Idk. I mean I cant afford a room like that. I just always do window rooms but even that isnt needed as I just sleep n room 4 hours and shower and dress...lol I just dont get it. U could do so much more with $8k...IJS
LadyJoy A I cant speak for everyone but I personally only book Suites on cruises because my family and I do more than just sleep and change our clothes in our room. It’s our beautiful place to retreat to when we want to escape the cruise ship hustle & bustle. We love ample space, amenities, and eating breakfast watching the sunrise or staring at the ocean under the moonlight on our private balconies. My Accommodations are a crucial part of my vacation how much I enjoy myself. Most notably, I make good money and a suite doesn’t hurt my pockets, but it gives me luxuriously priceless memories.

Not sure how this old video popped up on my homepage. I went on MG for my bday in 2022. Wife booked the aft suite and we did no research. We heard the band the first night and maybe one other day. I don’t think they used the stage every night. Nothing from the summer landing or sports bar could heard in the room. Absolutely the best balcony I have ever had. We laid outside on the day bed almost every morning to catch the sunrise. My wife left our group to be in her balcony hot tub every chance she got. We really enjoyed to food on that ship as well. We never ate in the buffet all week. So many great options. Needless to say we had a great vacation and really enjoyed the suite.
We were in room 9387 on Carnaval MG a few weeks ago right over the smoking area. We had a balcony that we could not enjoy. You are right once they give you your room number take the time to research the room.
Thank you for that wise bite of information and when we book today, I used it to ensure when we booked our future wrap around cabin to be higher between other cabins to ensure we tried to avoid all of the extra noise above and below. Thanks for sharing!

Quit lying to these people. You have never stayed in that cabin. I'm in that same suite and you don't hear the music at all. Plus they stop all activities at 11:00 until you actually stay in that suite,Quit lying to the people.
Point out to me where I said I stayed in that cabin? I said I booked the cabin and then cancelled it. Also this video was made before the ship was even completed, which is said several times in the video. Pull your head out of your ass.
See that is what I love, real world updates. I'm glad it worked out for you I just didn't want to take a chance given the amount of money the room cost. Now I just might give that room a chance on the Jubilee since they are basically the same design.

Update!! I had an ocean suite booked for 2/26/2022 but I scored/upgraded to an Exel aft corner suite on the 11th deck that became available!!! Hopefully it won’t be loud, 2 decks above.
I only cruise on NCL. They care about their passengers. ALL passengers have to be vaccinated. NO EXCEPTIONS. Not all lines are doing this. And look what is happening. COVID is running wild on their ships! I only get at least a Suite. Always aft. I have been on 25+ cruises. And will be going to be flying to Tokyo and cruising back through Russia,Alaska,and ending in Seattle. 17 days you’re right, a cruise advisor is a must! We’ve had the same lady booking our trips for the last 12-13 years. She knows where the quiet cabins are, and what cabins to stay away from. And she has helped finding us upgrades, Penthouse Suites and etc. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about other lines. Especially since they started after the COVID outbreak. Am happy with all the perks that go along with being a Latitudes Member. I’m sorry you were going to be screwed while paying top dollar for your corner Suite! You should have been told everything you mentioned so you could make an INFORMED decision. Not letting you know after you had booked it! Hope your next cruise will be all that you expect and more! Thank you SO much. 8 large would be a lot to lay out, only to receive a sub-par cabin. You've taught a young cruiser (New cruiser, 50 yrs old) to do his homework. Will a travel agent know this? Do you have someone you could refer? I have so many questions. I recently won acc settlement so I want to spoil my wife as she's had to endure me for last 4 yrs, and me blowing this would be crucial. Have you booked on the Mardi Gras, now that cruising has started back up again? And I fully agree on doing research - I had to swap my Forward Excel Corner Suite to a mid ship Excel Suite - the huge front balcony walls aren't glass!! What?? That's the whole reason I booked that cabin!!! So I twisted some arms, did some begging and got swapped into a more suitable room for our 9/18 cruise.

My wife and I stayed in the Owners Suite on the NCL Epic that overlooked the lido deck and I was expecting lots and lots of noise. I was surprised that wasn’t as loud as I was expecting.
I stayed in the Havana aft balcony on Horizon twice and on the deck below was the Havana pool and bar and didn't have any issues with noise. They played Latin music in the evening and late but wasn't an issue. This Mardi Gras balcony will be the same so I'm not concerned. And might be nice at night to sit on my balcony and enjoy the music.

WTF are you talking about? Don't be a dickhead. This video is over a year old. It is cabin 9501 the corner suite if you bothered to listen. These photos were taken directly from what Carnival posted about the room. Their description, their photos. If you have a problem like I do then it is with a Carnival not me.
Five side rule, people. Look at the maps of the ship. Pick a room with another stateroom to your left, to your right, above you, below you, and across the hall. Do this and you will mostly avoid these problems.

@@todd0763 Nice choice. You are going to be blown away by the Seaside she is an elegant ship. The Yacht Club is a different story. It is a ship within a ship, butler, bar, restaurant, reserved theatre seats, lounge, etc...It such a step up that it may seem that the other passengers are in steerage compared to your digs. I don't know if the champagne bar is included because I didn't bother checking since my plan included it. I think you should ask and get a definitive answer. In all my years of cruising I never had an add on that brought so much delightful joy, "magnifico."
While other ships make it seem that you are getting a good deal with their drinks package, the question that should be asked is, "compared to what?" Well after going on the Seaside drinks packages from other cruise lines will no longer seem such a good deal.

Hey Jeff, just watched your video, if you think that’s bad our agency had a group booked out of NY in Sept 2020 and of course we all know about the delay. We had to cancel all of those bookings and I was so upset, that was going to pay for my cabin in the Havana. @@AlwaysBeCruising I was just looking at the deck plans for the ship. From the schematic provided, you would never know it was set up that way. I assumed the balconies of those rooms were directly overlooking the ocean at the back of the ship, because that's how it looks on the schematic. I would have canceled, too.

I'm just 5 min n2 video but why does those rooms matter? Do u leave ur room? Its SOOOOO Much to do on the ship so why pay so much for a room? Idk. I mean I cant afford a room like that. I just always do window rooms but even that isnt needed as I just sleep n room 4 hours and shower and dress...lol I just dont get it. U could do so much more with $8k...IJS
LadyJoy A I cant speak for everyone but I personally only book Suites on cruises because my family and I do more than just sleep and change our clothes in our room. It’s our beautiful place to retreat to when we want to escape the cruise ship hustle & bustle. We love ample space, amenities, and eating breakfast watching the sunrise or staring at the ocean under the moonlight on our private balconies. My Accommodations are a crucial part of my vacation how much I enjoy myself. Most notably, I make good money and a suite doesn’t hurt my pockets, but it gives me luxuriously priceless memories.

Not sure how this old video popped up on my homepage. I went on MG for my bday in 2022. Wife booked the aft suite and we did no research. We heard the band the first night and maybe one other day. I don’t think they used the stage every night. Nothing from the summer landing or sports bar could heard in the room. Absolutely the best balcony I have ever had. We laid outside on the day bed almost every morning to catch the sunrise. My wife left our group to be in her balcony hot tub every chance she got. We really enjoyed to food on that ship as well. We never ate in the buffet all week. So many great options.
Needless to say we had a great vacation and really enjoyed the suite.

We were in room 9387 on Carnaval MG a few weeks ago right over the smoking area. We had a balcony that we could not enjoy. You are right once they give you your room number take the time to research the room.
Thank you for that wise bite of information and when we book today, I used it to ensure when we booked our future wrap around cabin to be higher between other cabins to ensure we tried to avoid all of the extra noise above and below. Thanks for sharing!

Quit lying to these people. You have never stayed in that cabin. I'm in that same suite and you don't hear the music at all. Plus they stop all activities at 11:00 until you actually stay in that suite,Quit lying to the people.

The Presidential Suites are not windy. Deck 17 is the only deck with forward facing cabins with a wind block.

Update!! I had an ocean suite booked for 2/26/2022 but I scored/upgraded to an Exel aft corner suite on the 11th deck that became available!!! Hopefully it won’t be loud, 2 decks above.
I only cruise on NCL. They care about their passengers. ALL passengers have to be vaccinated. NO EXCEPTIONS. Not all lines are doing this. And look what is happening. COVID is running wild on their ships! I only get at least a Suite. Always aft. I have been on 25+ cruises. And will be going to be flying to Tokyo and cruising back through Russia,Alaska,and ending in Seattle. 17 days you’re right, a cruise advisor is a must! We’ve had the same lady booking our trips for the last 12-13 years. She knows where the quiet cabins are, and what cabins to stay away from. And she has helped finding us upgrades, Penthouse Suites and etc. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about other lines. Especially since they started after the COVID outbreak. Am happy with all the perks that go along with being a Latitudes Member. I’m sorry you were going to be screwed while paying top dollar for your corner Suite! You should have been told everything you mentioned so you could make an INFORMED decision. Not letting you know after you had booked it! Hope your next cruise will be all that you expect and more! Thank you SO much. 8 large would be a lot to lay out, only to receive a sub-par cabin. You've taught a young cruiser (New cruiser, 50 yrs old) to do his homework. Will a travel agent know this? Do you have someone you could refer? I have so many questions. I recently won acc settlement so I want to spoil my wife as she's had to endure me for last 4 yrs, and me blowing this would be crucial. Have you booked on the Mardi Gras, now that cruising has started back up again? And I fully agree on doing research - I had to swap my Forward Excel Corner Suite to a mid ship Excel Suite - the huge front balcony walls aren't glass!! What?? That's the whole reason I booked that cabin!!! So I twisted some arms, did some begging and got swapped into a more suitable room for our 9/18 cruise.

First of all just looking at the deck plans, i would not have booked deck 9 Excel aft cabin, I would booked decks 11, 12, or 14
My wife and I stayed in the Owners Suite on the NCL Epic that overlooked the lido deck and I was expecting lots and lots of noise. I was surprised that wasn’t as loud as I was expecting.
I stayed in the Havana aft balcony on Horizon twice and on the deck below was the Havana pool and bar and didn't have any issues with noise. They played Latin music in the evening and late but wasn't an issue. This Mardi Gras balcony will be the same so I'm not concerned. And might be nice at night to sit on my balcony and enjoy the music.
I agree. I look at it as a 2 for 1. Im looking forward to sitting on the balcony listening to music. 🎶

WTF are you talking about? Don't be a dickhead. This video is over a year old. It is cabin 9501 the corner suite if you bothered to listen. These photos were taken directly from what Carnival posted about the room. Their description, their photos. If you have a problem like I do then it is with a Carnival not me.

You are showing the wrong bedroom photo for this suite. The one you show is for the mid-ship Excel Suite, not the AFT one.
Five side rule, people. Look at the maps of the ship. Pick a room with another stateroom to your left, to your right, above you, below you, and across the hall. Do this and you will mostly avoid these problems.
Obviously I did not obey that rule. Cautionary tale. Booking a cabin requires much more use of the brain that just pointing with a finger.
