That first song doesn't praise Jesus. Jews are still waiting for a Savior and they don't recognize Jesus as a Savior. I love this song for music aspects but the lyrics are at odds with what I think

Juliannes voice is so haunted sounding, it literally gives me chills when she sings. It reminds me of my childhood in the Eastern KY mountains hearing this woman in church sing.

I left the Church a long time ago, before I was diagnosed with a rather serious mental illness which makes little room for hope or joy. I discovered your talented family through this video; the song is one of my Christmas favorites. You all are wonderful and Julianne's voice haunts me. Thank you for what you do and Merry Christmas.
I prayed for you and that God would heal and provide you with His peace. It is not the Church but our Lord and Savior Jesus.... so many people are hurt by the "earthly" church and the sinners who are there. That is not God's plan.
Christ stands with open arms to receive you back into Him. He alone satisfies our longings. I too have cancer and through the entire ordeal Christ alone has provide solace. Hold tightly to what your have in Christ for the rewards will be great--His words but mine.

Yes.......the LORD GOD is with them. They are born again Christians. Emmanuel means "God With Us". I believe they have all prayed to receive Jesus as their personal LORD & SAVIOUR. Once you have Jesus, nothing can separate you from His love.

They made the refrain work so much better than the original hymn - it always felt like a shrill bugle blast to me after the sad subtle notes of the verses , and they did a great job smoothing it out but not corrupting the original intent. Very pleasing to the ears!

I strongly believe this is no accident you founding this video and making a comment. I also really believe God is revealing himself to you through this video. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me." Just take a minute and tell Jesus you need him, tell him you are sorry for the things you know are wrong, ask Him to come into your heart and be my Lord and Savior. God knows your heart. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Find a Christian Church and tell them you met Jesus through youtube video. I think that's awesome :)

i found Jesus earlier this year. at age 41. took me til then. but found hope through Jesus and strength through the bible. Wisdom and enlightenment. there's a lot of negativity about christianity. don't believe it. the message of Jesus and the guidance of God still holds true

One of my favorite things about watching Petersens videos is how you all smile for each other.
There are times in your life when you hear something so beautiful that you are stopped dead in your tracks, my eyes filled with tears within five seconds.

I'm a metalhead at heart but appreciate all good music. I originally stumbled on this group because of the dobro, one of my favorite sounds on Earth, and this dude crushes it. Being said, I've heard many versions of this song (even a metal one), and I have to say this talented kid's voice was hand selected from on high to sing this song, I am in complete disbelief. Absolute chills, well done.. Her technique to sound the "L" in Emmanuel and Israel as "W" is so beautiful I could collapse. Watch her sister even look at her with complete pride and jubilation, as if she is experiencing the same as I. What a gift this family gives to the planet. Warms a heathen's heart.

The young girl singing Emmanuel has a voice of an Angel ❤ This is a VERY powerful song, the Lord KNOWS she's a special talent. WOW!!!

That instrument is called a dobro? That name sounds like the Serbo-Croatian word for "good".
@@teery59 it's a resonator guitar, Dobro is a brand name. Jerry Douglas made them world famous with Alison Krauss and Union Station. I think he would love this.
Nikki E. Female singers can sing falsetto regardless of what part they sing. Now the difference between head voice and falsetto can get kinda confusing because they share similar qualities. But either way she can transition from head to chest seamlessly. Pretty impressive.

@@teery59 it is. The instrument comes from the Eastern Europe. Better said, the man who crafted it came from Slovakia. His name was Dopyera. He and his brother made these guitars, and the brand was called "Dobro brothers". They made Dopyera easier to be pronounced into "dobro". Which means "good " in Czech and in Slovak

The perfect ambassadors for mountain music style of this beautiful Christmas song, that is, carol. A beautiful humbleness that gives the texture of the piece an intimate character that calls one to meet oneself as soul in Gods earthly world. The other two versions of O come O come Emmanuel I listen to with the Petersens is the version done by Enya and the version done by the Finland singer Tarja. I love listening to all three together in sequence since there are three different styles of expressing the piece. Anyway the Petersens relate an Appalachian simplicity from the common man's perspective. Thus I love their work on this piece.
My four favorite ingredients: Jesus, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. Lovely. Merry Christmas, everyone!
I love this woman's voice. Honest and brutally open. Perhaps those are the same thing. I worked in the industry for over a decade and hearing this raw honesty in a vocal is a breath of fresh air

The Petersens alone have had an enormous effect on my morale. Not just the way they bring this music to us, but the way they conduct themselves. My internal battle started long before I can remember now, but the existence of this glimmer of hope brings a feeling I do not recognize. It's difficult to explain. I want to reach out for help, but I don't know how.
Just give your life to JESUS! That is who they are singing about. Only Jesus gives us hope in this dark world! He defeated Satan and paid for our sins at the cross. Three days later He rose from the dead and is coming back soon!
