Poor Gary -- Super talented guy -- ended up being a bad rebound hook up, during Eddies mid life crisis. He deserved better. It was a disastrous time for Eddie Van Halen.....Unfortunately - once you gotten that rich, famous & successful - you can always find "yes" men to help you self destruct. Van Halen III is what happens when there are no adults allowed in the room. Its a self indulgent, unfocused mess. The reason -- Eddie had cut anyone who told him "no" out of his life. Gary was just enjoying the ride.....but i bet he knew he was on the Titanic. The worst part -- it destroyed Van Halen as an entity of growing musicians......once VHIII tanked -- Eddie quit. He retreated to being a greatest hits cover band -- went back on every word he had said in this interview, and called Sammy & Dave to save him. Obviously broken by his failure during this period....he then went through a terrible addiction spiral, too.... Eventually it would be the end of Van Halen as a world changing rock band -- By 2007 it was the nostalgia show with Dave.....and having gone to that reunion tour -- it was cool --- but looking back -- it was sad. We were excited about hearing 30 year old songs we had been playing on CDs our whole lives. It was the end of Van Halen as relevant. As creative. As groundbreaking. This interview is the last moments of musical genius Eddie Van Halen.... his last moments as more than a 10 year farewell tour act. It shouldnt have happened this way.....
Hillarious that Gary didn't really like Van Halen and when Nuno (massive superfan of EVH) and the Band used to warm up and play Van Halen songs, Gary would just walk off...then when he got the gig and used to do interviews like this, Nuno was like "ooooo you false b'stard". Lol
@@michaeltammaro482 of course Extreme wasn’t anywhere near as big as Van Halen, but Extreme always seem to really well respected among other major rock/metal bands and they had a few big hits before Gary left for Van Halen.
My cousin roommate was big time into this album he played it 24/7 which Eddie VH give kudos to : he was following his heart not selling out but never bought it I think it’s time I do this is over looking at it great album
Those blonde haired hood ornaments were BOTH just as responsible for those great records as Ed was. He was always a total dick to whoever was on the way out. Lame. Dave taught those 2 brothers how to write songs. Sammy later taught them how to write hits.
@@blak1lyte uuuuuuuhhhh, yeh man, I’m well aware of that. I’m also well aware that lyrics and vocal melody are exactly, officially 1/2 of the song, and that’s the half that sells records. Like I said, they were just as responsible for those great records as Ed was.
Eddie really did some interesting guitar work on VH3. He was really stretching out, and kind of beginning to fall into the deep end of madness as well, but that's where a lot of genius comes from. I really like a lot of the stuff he came up with. I think what killed this record are the melodies and lyrics on some of the songs.
what killed this record is that from the start of 1985 van halen fans were polarised between the two lead singers the third one who was a perfect choice had no chance at all - even if, like sammy, he could sing, and like dlr, he didn't take himself too seriously this is still my favourite version of the band . . . although, the fact they toured australia in 98 might have something to do with it; iii has been in my cd player for all but 5 minutes since 16th march, 98 . . . it had to come out so i could convert them to mp3 :)
My first thought when i heard VH3 was " I wonder how Sammy and Dave would of sung these songs". And "Somebody (probably Eddie and Ray Danniels) told Gary to sing these new songs like Sammy would sing them.....
I’ll be honest, that final big guitar solo in Without You is some of the coolest, zaniest guitar work I’ve heard from Eddie. I’ve learned his stuff, but that is just off limits.
18:42 "Can't wait for the next record" Damnit! Still waiting! Gary said the 2nd record that didn't get released is better and honestly the first was good and I like alot of the songs.
I've heard mixed things. I've heard there is a full, completed 2nd record, but I've heard Gary say there were only pieces, and some became songs for his other band Hurtsmile.
Wow never seen this , thanks for posting 🤘🏻 Without you & fire in the hole are good , I still listen occasionally to those songs . Actually the instrumentals on this album are imo good too . The production was pretty bad but the album cover is a winner !!! R.I.P. EVH
I think Eddie’s slide playing on the tune Ballot or the Bullet is pretty wicked. Like Duane Allman, his slide tone and style is unique. To me, any way. I feel most of the material was written with Roth doing the vocals. But what happened happened. I am glad they were able to put together one more album, with Roth. Wolfgang’s bass parts were refreshing to me as well. If I remember correctly ADKOT came out in 2012. I was coming out a lot of major issues. And I tell this story all the time. The release date for it to ship was some time in Feb. it was cold & wintery. And being VH with Roth always reminded me of Summers, the best time of the year. It got very warm, and my Cd/dvd arrived early. And oddly it stayed warm, winter was done. It was a sign of what is all VH. That being said I will miss EVH, terribly, my Dad passed when I just turned 18. And he died at 55. EVH was my guitar Dad, and he too passed to early. I have difficulty with his passing so I can just imagine how Wolfgang feels
When Ed dropped his body (my daughter called me) I listened to 3 & I feel bad I really hadn’t before. Now it’s my favorite & I listen to it weekly at least. It was everyday for that first year It feels so personal & I think I hear Alex playing piano in a part ? It has a percussive attack Ed gave us that love him so much.
I just tried listening to Van Halen 3. I couldn’t - had to stop. Doesn’t work at all for me. No offense to anyone who likes it, it just seems to me that all signs indicate that Ed was fractured at the time. The indulgences and pressures probably caught up with him, which thank God he survived. The short-haired Eddie later on seemed to pull it together. I’ll say this though - have any of you heard Wolfgang’s Mammoth debut? Go listen to it. In my opinion it’s a true Van Halen album. Wolfgang has serious chops, and writes songs as good as Dave Grohl. Wolfgang not only is a master of his dad’s playing style, but he mastered the Michael Anthony falsetto - and yet it’s distinctly Wolfgang. Do yourselves a favor and listen to it - no matter what you think about VH3, Mammoth has redeemed Van Halen.
Wolf is a talent but with the production too much of it sounds like generic modern over produced hard rock...like shinedown or Daughtry or something like that. That over compressed triggered drum replacement sounding...thing... it's not his fault as much as it is just modern recording.
@@shawnstarks1743 had Bruce Fairbarin produced this album, we would have shorter and better arranged songs with Gary having a real chance to be the third lightening strike for Van Halen when it came to singers.
Gary Charone has often said that he wished that they toured as a band first and then recorded an album. He felt like they were really starting to mesh as a band while touring.
I had seen VH 3 times live before VH3. Once with DLR and twice with sammy. I bought the VH3 cassette and I couldn't get into it at all. I tried to like it lol. Then the VH3 tour came to my neck of the woods. Del mar fairgrounds san Diego California. I'll never forget that show but not because of its greatness. Security kept telling people to sit in their seats. I'm like, dude, this is van Halen and I'm supposed to sit down? Eddie playing unchained and I'm not allowed to stand up? Many of us got kicked out of that show
A producer who knew what he was doing in this genre and had some SPINE to speak up during recording could have made for a much better album. Also, as Cherone said, they shoulda toured before doing the album woulda been huge.
You can tell that the Nuno influence was involved in this album. Other than EVH Nuno is the funkiest rock guitarist in the category. A very busy player that needs no other strummer. Just like Eddie.
There's some great work on VH III but honestly Gary's voice just isn't that commercial. Good writer, good singer, good dude, just not a real commercial voice. Also how were they to really market that record? All the radio stations were preprogrammed across the country by that point. Its not a bad album like its been branded. VH never once released a terd.
@@beatlesforever69 wrong, been playing since 1985. I'm pretty good. Sales are an indication of success in the industry and compared to what became expected from Van Halen it failed. I said I like a lot of it but I belong to the minority on that one. Gary will just never sell like Sammy, his voice isn't as commercially appealing.
@ponzo1967 - ok since you know so much about being commercial... where are your platinum records? Gary does have success...with Extreme. It didn't work out for various reasons...the main reason is working with Mike Post who knows shit about hard rock at that time. It was rushed and also the main reason is people didn't give it a fair chance.
ya know? it's kinda surreal to sit here and debate about the album, like it or hate it.. but as the credits rolled to the video... it dawned on me we'll never see Eddies' smile on a new VH song. he loved to play and it showed. we as fans grew up and loved this guy. even though we all die, it's still hard to believe.
Lil unknown fact but vh3 mike Anthony only played on two or three songs on the album . Ed recorded majority of the bass. And that was the last he ever recorded bass for VH. The new songs vh recorded with Sammy on best of both worlds greatest hits Ed also recorded all the bass. They really screwed Mikey . Mikey did contributed background vocals to the last three songs, when he went on tour for the Sammy reunion with vh Mikey had to sign his rights away to be able to tour with vh on that reunion tour .
Damn, you can see this was about the time that Eddie apparently started started using meth and everything in his life that was good, he just threw it all away. He was so lost and detached from everything during this time.little did he know just how bad things were going to get for him. He let the wrong people into his life and they were not looking after his best interest as much as they were theirs. They played to his ego and had him thinking he could do no wrong and he was too fucked up to see what those people were doing to him. He was convinced he was in control of his life and that he was doing everything right. Onviously he wasnt and he was too stuborn to admit it. Its just really sad for his life to end that way. He might have been here today, still on top of his game had he stil had good people in his life. RIP Eddie
I just heard like maybe a month ago that 7-11 tracks were fully done. With 5 more about 80% done. Gary used the lyrics from the 2nd album on a project he did after leaving VH. I'm dying to hear it as the few that have heard said its like a heavier version of early VH. VH3 tour was mostly Roth era and it inspired them to return to that sound. Damn I would love to hear it. You probably saw this but if not it's about the 2nd Gary record. th-cam.com/video/LcfPm7o6L90/w-d-xo.html
Even though "Van Halen 3" wasn't a commercial hit, the album did had some fine songs. Wished Gary worked more with the band, but I guess fans couldn't accept him as a replacement for Sammy or Dave
i dont think it was that. Eddie said it clear, the producer let them do whatever they wanted. They wanted to be experimental, not necessarily write hit songs. There was not much guidance and it sounds like it. I couldn't get behind "how many say I" if I had an industrial forklift. When he said "America's premier party band" like it was a bad thing? Just saddens me. Thirty fucking years of wonderful happy music and videos of him smiling like the worlds greatest goof, and now being a party band is bad?! That fucking manager who broke them up with Sammy was pure fucking poison.
Me and my bro went to VH at the Gorge Ampitheater in summer of 98’ with Cherone as the front man. He sang tons of DLR stuff as a singer without the theatrics. I recall listening to a concert on the local radio station KZOK and they said you had better had your tape recorders on as it was only going to be played once. It was a performance in San Fran I think. It was so awesome as Gary kicked alot of the older catalog exceptionally well. I was so pissed that I only heard the last couple songs and wish they had released that concert audio for the public.
I have been a Van Halen for 39 years now, and I remember seeing the video for "Without You" and thought it was one of the most awkward, disjointed, chaotic songs I ever heard. After hearing it countless times since then, and again in this video.....I still absolutely loathe it. I literally feel like that song could cause an epileptic seizure.
That's an accurate take. I tried really hard to get into that tune and it just kept fizzling out. Ed had the music written before Cherone joined (see him playing a section of it in the video where he visits Jason Becker in '96) so it was obviously intended for Sammy to sing.
The only thing that always really bothered me with Van Halen is that whenever someone left the band the brothers seemed to always pout that person down. Either with snide comments or a sneak stab here and there. They always gave the impression that the band was worse off and have that person in the band was a mistake.. Dave, Sammy, and Mike gave alot to Van Halen and the band had ALOT off success with those people.
You're making crap up about the brothers . You're just repeating Captain Candyass's lies . He quit . He said so himself . Alex said so himself Sam was on hiatus . Sam tried to be the boss and failed .
30:00 another song Gary and Eddy wrote about "Josephina" so the VH Bros have a song about their Mom Gary has a song about his, Nuno has one about his "Flo"
I have seen this a long time ago but never had the understanding in connecting that bit of Ed saying about auditioning another guy besides Gary who I think is Mitch Malloy and what Mitch has said in his Rolling Stone interview, which says that they didn't work out musically with him. But Mitch honestly said that the new material Ed showed him didn't clicked to him right away.
Instrumentally, I think it is pretty good. The lyrics and the vocals are where the problems show up. It is really a shame they didn't make 2 or 3 more albums with Sammy.
Without a doubt. And don't forget the poor production quality in which even Ed's guitar didn't sound great. Sam had some really good solo stuff after the divorce. No doubt they had 2-3 more really good albums in them. Ed and Ray Daniels really blew it.
@@realcrunchy6572 There are plenty examples of Sammy's great lyrics. Right Now. Give To Live from his solo work. Many more. Cherone can't come close....
@@rhgamecock1 exactly. Sammy had by far deeper lyrics than anything Dave wrote. Anyone making stupid comments about Sammy's lyrics is just a douchebag hater and Dave lover. Those types of Dave only VH lovers r just pathetic.
OK, Eddie's playing the guitar without looking at his hands in the beginning. I know there are many guitarists who can do that, but I can't, so that's pretty cool to me :)
It is not a bad album. It is just that it isn't exceptional like their work previous to this was. I think EVH needed a charismatic singer like he had with Roth and Hagar even though it isn't what he wanted. Again, not bad - just not exceptional.
This album had more soul than all of the other Van Halen albums combined. Hell, Eddie even had some blues coursing through him on this album. Unfortunately, just as with Motley Crue’s album with John Corabi, most fans don’t like change, and what could’ve been a great redirection for both bands with their creativity got tossed because of the greed for money.
Boy, you said something there! Couldn’t have said it better. Crue with Corabi and VH with Cherone are my favorites. You know, people are just shallow. Both albums were eclectic, loud, and mean.
If vh3 would’ve had an actual producer and would’ve sounded better from a production standpoint i think it would be somewhat more well received, maybe not on the level as the other shit but looked at in a better light. There are some cool songs on vh3, the production does not help it at all
What the person above here said: If this album had a GOOD producer in charge, it could have been incredible. Ed was a genius but Ed is not a captain of the ship. Somebody needs to provide subtle direction for the open channel of creativity flying out of Ed otherwise there’s no direction. This album is totally directionless and that is what killed it. Lots of very cool moments though. Fire In The Hole is the only song from the record that I listen to today personally.
VH 3 might be the most underrated album ever . The rhythm guitar might be the most sophisticated riffs of any rock band ever . There’s just so much mutations going on in ever riff . A great album period
The problem though was there was no structure or organization of any of the songs. Yes, Ed has some great sounding guitar at times, but the album is all over the place and sounds like it was edited in garage by an 15 year old, which in 1998 wasn't good. Ed in charge=Mess
FOR those that never hooked up with VH lll. This is like a new album coming from VH..2022 . Can yu dig what I mean.. Mattrock MTv with Eddie Van,, is a great piece of journalism.. Inside Edy's soul. Peace out ✌️...
One thing I can say that is Gary is a consummate frontman. Extreme has a new album coming out and he is just unbelievable on it….as well as Neno. I think this album was just poorly produced, very muddy and I read somewhere that the drum tracks were lost and had to be quickly redone. Truly not their best but perhaps could have been better if they did another. Check out live videos of VH with Gary though, very well done live!
I've always found it comical that Edward - a self proclaimed "tone chaser" - could let such poorly produced albums, such as Van Halen III or OU812, get out of the barn sounding like they do. Did getting a good sound stop at his guitar or something? It's odd.
Intellectually, Gary raised the lyrical bar 10 fold. Wham bam oh Amsterdam comes to mind. Gary did just fine and didn't deserve the shit he got. Some massive shoes I think anyone would be hard pressed to fill.
The reality is Van Halen 3 Failure Was Eddie Not Mike Sammy or Dave Gary sounds awful at certain points it’s clear this was a Hagar album without his range that said Gary was a class act
Van Halen 3 is pretty much a Eddie Van Halen solo album. Eddie controlled everything about the record the lyric the vocal melodies played all the bass had Alex play what he wanted and was clean and sober focused o making the record he always wanted to make and when it failed Eddie was crushed and hit the bottle and dropped out ..It took years for Eddie to recover and with the help of Wolfgang he got his Dad to rediscover what made him great and back with DLR...
When Eddie is clean and sober he gains weight , he’s thin as a rail here so I think by this point he was already hitting the bottle among other things.
They were so insulated and self-unaware - imagine thinking that song and that video were perfectly fine for 1998. Incredibly embarrassing, their whole management team should've been canned.
You know it always bothered me how they always treated Michael Anthony as if he was just some bass player for hire. He was the most loyal guy in the band and in this interview they hardly let him say a word. i’m reminded of that from looking at this interview.
3rd and final version of Van Halen?, not even close. The background to all of this is interesting. History is always fascinating to read and see. Sadly Van Halen made almost NO music since this interview. Gary was never comfortable with the Van Halen brothers. Ray Danniels was the reason for Gary being involved with Van Halen. This is actually sad to see this in 2021, Eddie did a lot of BS talking here, Gary & Michael said stuff all. RIP EVH, thank you of the music.
Both VH3 and that 94 Crue LP, both went "Gold" certifications, and were considered failure compared to the multi platinum success both bands previously had.
Well, 1984 was controversial in the beginning...a lot of people didn't like it. Yet it's their top seller and Jump the #1 song. Very hard to predict what the publics reception will be..
The addition of Gary was genius, Gary could sing any era of VH and he sang his ass off on VH3. Yeah there were a couple dogs on 3 but there was also some of the best most mature writing Eddie ever created, songs like from afar and year to the day. Year to the day is , in my own opinion, the best song Eddie ever wrote and the solo is simply sublime.

RIP, Eddie. I fucking love you.

Oh the memories of growing up with this Band, ...Miss EVH ennensly, but his music will live forever ❤❤💔
It's a shame that people didn't accept Gary as much as they should have.
didn't help evh was using meth
If the music was good, it wouldn’t have mattered. VH3 is a long uninspired mess. Nothing memorable about it and I want to like it. I’ll pop it on occasionally and it’s just not a good effort
I like Gary s chemistry in Van Halen better than W Sammy.
@@randomneutral4250 unfortunately I agree. And Gary is an amazing singer. He just wasn't a great fit in VH. He's incredible in Extreme
Eventually it would be the end of Van Halen as a world changing rock band --
By 2007 it was the nostalgia show with Dave.....and having gone to that reunion tour -- it was cool --- but looking back -- it was sad.
Lol
Gary Cherone WHO? He didn't like VH????
I wouldn't know who the F he is if it wasn't for VH.
@@michaeltammaro482 of course Extreme wasn’t anywhere near as big as Van Halen, but Extreme always seem to really well respected among other major rock/metal bands and they had a few big hits before Gary left for Van Halen.

Ed was a Mad Scientist. I miss him so...
My cousin roommate was big time into this album he played it 24/7 which Eddie VH give kudos to : he was following his heart not selling out but never bought it
I think it’s time I do this is over looking at it great album
Speaking in English? LOL
This is brilliant, great find. Thanks
“Blonde haired hood ornament!” Long live EVH! Forever!
All the things these guys said about each other over the years… they got over it better than a lot of us did
The hood ornaments work lot better lol
Those blonde haired hood ornaments were BOTH just as responsible for those great records as Ed was. He was always a total dick to whoever was on the way out. Lame. Dave taught those 2 brothers how to write songs. Sammy later taught them how to write hits.
@@JCDwyer ed wrote the songs/ music...dlr & hagar wrote lyrics&melody lines
@@blak1lyte uuuuuuuhhhh, yeh man, I’m well aware of that. I’m also well aware that lyrics and vocal melody are exactly, officially 1/2 of the song, and that’s the half that sells records. Like I said, they were just as responsible for those great records as Ed was.
I can’t pick my favorite Van Halen song. I love them all for different reasons!
Eddie really did some interesting guitar work on VH3. He was really stretching out, and kind of beginning to fall into the deep end of madness as well, but that's where a lot of genius comes from. I really like a lot of the stuff he came up with. I think what killed this record are the melodies and lyrics on some of the songs.
what killed this record is that from the start of 1985 van halen fans were polarised between the two lead singers
the third one who was a perfect choice had no chance at all - even if, like sammy, he could sing, and like dlr, he didn't take himself too seriously
this is still my favourite version of the band . . . although, the fact they toured australia in 98 might have something to do with it; iii has been in my cd player for all but 5 minutes since 16th march, 98 . . . it had to come out so i could convert them to mp3 :)
Absolutely. He's always stretched things, but he went a few extra levels on VH III that are awesome.
The lyrics are EMBARRASSINGLY bad......just plain stupid. That, and the trash they were putting out about Sammy is what killed VH3.
Great video! I remember watching this at the time. Thanks for uploading!
Wow never seen this , thanks for posting 🤘🏻
Without you & fire in the hole are good , I still listen occasionally to those songs .
Thanks for posting this.

I listened to 3 & I feel bad I really hadn’t before.
Now it’s my favorite & I listen to it weekly at least.
It was everyday for that first year
It feels so personal & I think I hear Alex playing piano in a part ?
It has a percussive attack
Ed gave us that love him so much.
This interview brings a tear to my eye. RIP- Master Edward
This album was a strong producer from being a success.
Bingo!!!!!!! Mike Post was the wrong guy.
@@shawnstarks1743 had Bruce Fairbarin produced this album, we would have shorter and better arranged songs with Gary having a real chance to be the third lightening strike for Van Halen when it came to singers.
Plus it was mixed all wrong. They should have recorded in doubly
Agreed! I've always wished for a remix of this album. The parts are good but the mix makes it hard to listen to.
Many of us got kicked out of that show
Such a huge EVH fan since 1984 dropped...I was a young toddler at the time and even then I knew music genius!
A producer who knew what he was doing in this genre and had some SPINE to speak up during recording could have made for a much better album. Also, as Cherone said, they shoulda toured before doing the album woulda been huge.
Agreed. It’s clear Ed called the shots and the new guy wasn’t going to say something EVH wrote was shit
Thanks for posting this ❤
I think third times the charm! This one will stick!! ;)
Who cares if it's commercial or not?
Commercialization is the antidote to greatness. Get a clue. Obviously, you're not a musician.
Third time is definitely NOT the charm when it comes to singers. Gary never had a chance...
Hehe, Mike quietly sitting there when Alex slags Sam. In the end, Mike and Sam were like brothers.
Sauce always goes to who pays his bread and butter.
Just watching for the vintage stuff.
ya know? it's kinda surreal to sit here and debate about the album, like it or hate it.. but as the credits rolled to the video... it dawned on me we'll never see Eddies' smile on a new VH song. he loved to play and it showed. we as fans grew up and loved this guy. even though we all die, it's still hard to believe.
Greed killed the band.
RIP Eddie
Every bad gets a head scratcher album and it’s one I can drive a long distance and enjoy. Fire in the Hole is brutal!
I thought VH III was awesome, and I love Gary.
Would have love to have heard the follow up album they may have done....

That fucking manager who broke them up with Sammy was pure fucking poison.
what i meant to say was, I think the fans heard a band off the rails that they could no longer relate to. Most of that record is not catchy.
Im goung to get vh 3 after listening to this. Thanks for posting this video
@@TheWarriorSongProject It would've been better if they recorded in Dubly!
It’s hard to imagine that such talented guys could make such a bad collection of songs.
"It's music theory, not music fact..." Interesting words from the modern Beethoven.
Not how I want to remember Eddie or VH.
VH1. FW. and DD is VH
30:00 another song Gary and Eddy wrote about "Josephina" so the VH Bros have a song about their Mom Gary has a song about his, Nuno has one about his "Flo"
This album would have rocked if they would've had Bob Rock produced it!
20 years after their first album eddie looks like death looming. He's higher than kite here. Hard to even watch.
Underreated álbum. Gary could sing allá VAN HALEN CATALOGUE
Sammie is so well known for his great lyrics lmao
@@realcrunchy6572 There are plenty examples of Sammy's great lyrics. Right Now. Give To Live from his solo work. Many more. Cherone can't come close....
@@rhgamecock1 exactly. Sammy had by far deeper lyrics than anything Dave wrote. Anyone making stupid comments about Sammy's lyrics is just a douchebag hater and Dave lover. Those types of Dave only VH lovers r just pathetic.

It's music theory not music fact! 11:55 Eddie you're still teaching me man! Miss you so much buddy!
Van Halen forever!♥️
I see you get it! Been leaning from Ed for about 39 years...He was a true guitar player...gonna miss him!
OK, Eddie's playing the guitar without looking at his hands in the beginning. I know there are many guitarists who can do that, but I can't, so that's pretty cool to me :)
Listening to Ed and Al talk, they are saying the same things in this recording as they said when Sammy Hagar joined the band.
There are some cool songs on vh3, the production does not help it at all
@@shawnstarks17431❤
Loved it from day one. Even the raw sound.
The Guitar work on this album is amazing!! I don't care what the haters say. I will always defend VH3
@@Freedum_Fries ya it’s pretty stellar . I don’t get the hate
Shotty generic songs basically performances aside. Some of it I like but the songs start nowhere and go nowhere most often.
Yep.

VH III is Eddie's solo album.
It's odd.
Everybody says Clapton was God here's the thing Eddie Van Halen was a guitar God in a master of guitar
AMAZING VAN HALEN CONTENT!!!
EVH’s Guitar playing was unique, unlike any I have ever seen! They were an awesome band!
Van Halen Is my life
Van Halen 3 is pretty much a Eddie Van Halen solo album.
You are absolutely correct… pretty much sums it up
"Shine some Light, on the Shadow" Ed shoulda wrote the Lyrics, that's a good one
“Wisdom! To the tooth!” Yup.

ive seen van halen 4 times...Ive played guitasr asll my life...its 2024 and ive never even heard of this Cherone guy....
Then you don't know Van Halen very well.
You know it always bothered me how they always treated Michael Anthony as if he was just some bass player for hire. He was the most loyal guy in the band and in this interview they hardly let him say a word. i’m reminded of that from looking at this interview.
Then they fucked him out of his royalties. That is why he didn't go back in 2007.
Michael Anthony was just summoned to sit.
Ugot to be kidding.. Eddies' soul is speaking and your missing it. ??
Pay attention.. replay it....😎
I agree Eddie just talking crap career was finished at this point they transitioned to a nostalgic band
Just realized that Without you sounds a lot like Give it away by RHCP.
Methward Van Halen.
Van Halen III is a great record and Once is a masterpiece of a song.
