so much better than any that came affter, the atmosphere of this game is unreal, still thinking about it all these years later
My God, this game was totally ahead of its time. One of the best games ever made, that's for sure. I played it as a kid back in 2012 and, Jesus, what a game.
Far cry 2 is the most unique one of the series having to actually plan out your movement's,malaria pills and never knowing when you weapons would break and enemies alway respawning at the diferente checkpoints crazy
And you didn't always kill the enemy when you shot them. Few other games have that realism.
Things I loved about this game
1) You didn't have stupid super powers
2) Likewise weapons were real and could break
3) You didn't always kill the enemy
4) The enemy sometimes panicked
5) The scenery.
its also missing alot tho. civilians in towns and wildlife interacting with the world r only shown in cutscenes which is a shame
@billross9132 yes but it's an ancient game. I play Fallout 76 and npcs still only have limited interaction with you.

Those muted colors really fit the African environment. No HUD, the gorgeous graphics, the great atmosphere. Missions are repetitive, but the world is fun to explore and drive.
This is better than any other Far Cry game that I played.
Far Cry 4 was the most fun but this was more immersive.

@@faydulaksono dude, it's false to explain. You have to go through the game several times, delve into its mechanics and soak up the atmosphere. I didn't particularly like 2 initially either. But then after 2 playthroughs, I realised I loved that part. And as for comparing with other parts: with 1 hell knows, I did not play it, with 3 all is clear, there except for the passage of the plot - there is nothing to do, open world there is empty and not attractive, in 6 I also did not play. If you want to know my top, here you go.

It's good but had some flaws too. I remember being pretty annoyed by the constantly respawning enemies on your way to the mission target. The fire physics were pretty damn good and I haven't seen something like it since. I think I even have a physical copy somewhere😬

Used to play this all the time as a kid. You look at what far cry has become now and its sad to see how far they have strayed. I genuinly feel like the graphics in this are better than the newer ones.
Love this game ! Iv e played it since it came out back in 2008. It was unique, dirty, and dark atmosfhere. Played it a couple of times over the years, on hardcore difficulty. It was ahead of its time, for shure, graphics and sound were amazing!
