@@microwave4928 Still I’d like a good quantity of scenes with great quality, and MANY games do this. Handsome Jack for example, he’s always in the story, and every time he speaks he’s drawing attention to himself.

the reason behind the 3 games is because they were mostly first-person and they were from the perspective of the mc, but here, the cutscenes are third-person
@@aiyoshi420 Even though I like the game I hated how often he kinda felt kinda samey. Like we’re dragged into these cutscenes, breaking the flow of gameplay just to hear the same dozen or so talking points get driven into your skull so often it becomes a little mind boggling.

You can see that Anton isn’t just some sadistic dictator with no emotions towards anything… the way he reacts to Maria’s death and tells his son is full of remorse and sadness. saying “your mother is dead” is not an easy thing to do, apparently not for Anton either.
especially since he knows that people are going to hate his son just for being his son. you dont spend that much time protecting and nurturing your child just because you are evil and want to hurt people. being evil and wanting to hurt people is the least realistic version of villains they could make
We all must remember. Even the most evil people are human. Them being where they are in life be it by pure greed, lust, gluttony or what unfortunate circumstances may be. Are still human.

Maria's death i think is my favorite out of the cutscenes. You can sense the anger dwelling up in Anton but he remains calm, puts on a record, pours a glass of wine, another after his son sits down, sits himself and just tells him his mom is dead.
He looks like he wants to yell and cry but he can't give in so he keeps as calm as he can while having to break the bad news to his son

Yes Dani did that there were some times where he was the only one to see it that way like when Anton killed his son he was the only one that cared in the first atcutal mission in esperanza he showed him mercy and belived he could possibly not be like his father

Let's be honest here, every farcry villain is too competent and intelligent to get bested by any random protagonist. Just give us a game where we play as the villain and kill off the allies of the hero one by one until we get to the last fight.

The ending of the game is how these things turn out. A bunch of revolutionaries ransack the capital and the country falls into complete anarchy because nobody knows how to run the country
Yea, dont know if i liked the game because of this. I just felt like a person who wanted power, fame, and who wanted to kill. But anyways, after you finished the game, I think youre going to continue selling vivro without slaves and other morally bad things. So i guess it still was a ''happy'' ending?

Not an expert on Far Cry games, but they should do one where the player is the villain. You think you’re going around helping people, but it turns out that you’re just putting them up for an unjust cause, and throwing away their lives in an endless conflict. Would be a genuinely good twist.

You're kind of the villain in Far Cry 2, but i guess no one remember it. And in Far Cry 4 you overthrow a dictator to put another equal in his place.

Honestly itd be pretty cool if there was an ending where you lose and you get to see Antons vision come to fruition, and how crazy would it be if it was actual paradise and freedom for the people that were “True Yarans” while also ending up curing cancer, almost giving the player a dilemma if the ends justified the cruel means to get to that point.
i think they did, see Anton vision because Juan sell Viviro to smuggler that we know who he is lol, its like they stop the dictator but still continue the project with less slavery

There's an ending where Dani doesn't take Clara's deal, and leaves for Miami. It pans to him/her chilling on a beach, listening to a radio broadcast about how Clara and Libertad had died at the hands of Castillo. The scene then ends, and we are left to ponder what Castillo's "paradise" looks like.
Ever played FarCry 5?
Anton's fatherly attitude is refreshing to see in a villain. Even the messed up stuff he does to torment Diego, he does to prepare him for the reality of being El Presidente. However, I think dying of cancer fucked up his perspective and his mind, making him weak at a critical moment: the introduction of Dani Rojas to Libertad. If he was healthy, I doubt Libertad would have stood a chance even with Dani. As it is, the secret ending pretty much outright states that Libertad is destroyed without Dani's help.
i wish we would fight his genral Sanchez instead.

I’m really confused. I was playing that game just a few months ago and I could have sworn like I literally didn’t get any cutscenes of the dude throughout like the entire game. I stopped playing like 75% of the way through cuz I literally didn’t know what was going on I’m the story and I was just taking outposts and killing guys for no reason. Maybe I missed something?
Castillo maybe not be all that compelling, but hot damn, Giancarlo Esposito's acting is just so freaking amazing you just can't help but fall in love with it. Almost giving you the impression that there is more to the character than was presented.

That Talia/Maria scene was fantastic. I was able to do that mission entirely stealth and it was awesome, and her busting up into the room afterwards and yelling "BITCHES LEAVE," for some reason, made that scene even more fantastic to me.

14:03 here we see the revolutionaries are so in fear of Castillo they would even murder an innocent child for sharing his name. You can never really be on the right side in a Far Cry game. Rebels or tyrants, both are merciless and callous in their cruelty.
Diego deserved better. Only Dani and Lita saw him for what he is: a child. All the other revolutionaries only saw him as a tyrant's spawn.

Even though you can fight the bosses in any order, to me in canon it looks like you take out Maria / El Doctor last as that's the first real sign you get of Anton being sick; it doesn't show with either Mackay or Jose's deaths.

Giancarlo Esposito’s character is the only thing that makes this game worth it. The graphics are pretty poor. Wolfenstien new order has better graphics than this, and it came out in 2014.

Every clip of this game I watch I start to dislike the main characters and love Anton
I want to see a Far Cry game where you're the villian for once. You arrive on a remote tropical archipelago setting, you then manipulate the natives to start conflicts with other local tribes, and proceed conquer the islands as your own (you know, after reading this again, I just realized this just sounds like what the Europeans did to the east indies during the mid 1700s). General Di Ravello's story from Just Cause 3 is one of the most accurate and intriguing dictator story I've heard from any game series. And those were only relegated to collectible tapes hidden around the map. I genuinely want a whole ass documentary movie on Di Ravello after hearing his story. We had a Vaas and Min DLC why not one for Anton or maybe Diego? Instead of their fall from grace or hallucinations, it's their rise to power.

1:31 not how the grenade should have worked, the grenade would not have gone off unless the handle was discarded and the protags would have been cut down by the shrapnel
You can see and hear the spoon come off. Also, the shrapnel would spread in a different axis to the one they were walking; Though they'd have probably still gotten hit with a couple pieces at that distance. Suspend your disbelief, I doubt a grenade would fit in someone's mouth anyways without some serious coercion. It's for cinematic effect
He was the first villain in FC that I thought would win. He did horrible things yes so I could not fully support his vision but his intelligence, the way he talks, how he was in some quests way ahead of you.
I really only played it for him and how it would end.

Dude i swear cant they finally make a game where the good guys aren't just cliché teenagers that make any sane person cringe. They write such AMAZING villains, yet they put the same effort into the protagonists as an eight year old does on an essay.
Vaas fought with his mind games and intimidation factor. Pagan fought with his sick, twisted, sadistic torture methods to hold Kyrat. The twins fought with ruthlessness and 0 mercy towards anyone outside the Highwaymen. But Anton was the first to use his Charisma to his advantage
Would you not sat that Joseph also had Charisma on his side? He built up a loyal vult of followers in 5 who were ready and willing to die for him
@@an-animal-lover true, but Joseph himself never actually screwed with your mind, his family did one by one. Where as Vaas himself was always at the head of the front when it came to trying to bring down Jason. But I would still pass Joseph bc 5 was one of my favorite farcry games. And Anton, even in some of his final speeches, was able to tell his failing army they still had a shot and his tattered forces still believed him. Kind of reminds me of Hitler in a way, who gave his own final speech to his destroyed army and ruined people in February of 1945.

Giancarlo Esposito is one of those actors that just eats up the scene that he's in. I've loved his acting in everything that I've seen him in: The Mandalorian, The Boys, Once Upon a Time, Revolution, Breaking Bad... loved them all.

Ok uts great that FarCry has great villains. Especially this one, Giancarlo does a great job. But i hate how after FarCry3 thats the only good thing about those games. The villain. Rarely the gameplay because it hasnt evolved since 3. I need to see something more for FarCry6.

@Geeky BundMaster yeah it always a very similar story every time but I doubt their going to change anything for the next far cry game, people have been complaining for years now but they continue to do the same thing over and over again.
