I still rank Karen's contralto angelic voice as spiritually the greatest ever.. BUT HEAR THIS....Linda, besides her stunning voice, was the more versatile and I adore her. I have 2 female singers that speak to my soul snd they are 1A and 1B, Karen and Linda. My God but we were so blessed to grow up with these angels and their incredible talent. Thank you God for the joy Karen and Linda's voice have given me and millions.❤❤❤❤❤😂

The lovely Linda no one can touch her, she was one of the top female artists of the 70's and 80's, she did this live, no auto tune artists don't perform like this anymore. She was a pure musical genius who explored multiple musical genres and was a smashing success in all of them!

Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock & even opera. She has had so many hits such as "Different Drum", "When Will I Be Loved", "You're No Good", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did two great duets, "Somewhere Out There" (with James Ingram) & "Don't Know Much" (with Aaron Neville). The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs. Also love her collaborations with Dolly Parton & Emmylou Harris.

Linda remains a musical goddess to all of us American baby boomers. Willie Nelson once said, "There are two types of men in the world, those with a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who have never heard of her." My crush just celebrated its 52 birthday. Well, now you have heard of her...and from her. Her musical catalog is vast with many hits...and deservedly so. Enjoy! Be well, Duke

This was a spot on the Glen Campbell show. My only complaint is that they cut an entire verse from the song to meet their time constraints for TV. I watched your face and you seemed genuinely surprised at her lovely voice. She definitely had the most beautiful voice on the planet until it was stolen by a neurological disorder, forcing her to retire in 2009. Her catalogue spans forty years and covers multiple genres. She has won every award and honor imaginable and richly deserved every accolade. Please explore her music and you will never be disappointed. Her live performances are always wonderful. I recommend you watch her live whenever possible. 🌺✌️

Linda Ronstadt’s career was remarkable. She won many Grammys and released copious albums. She grew up in the SW US, Arizona I think. She had Mexican ancestry and grew up singing popular Mexican songs with her family. One of her albums was called Canciones de mi Padre (Songs of my Father). She was even in a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

The beautiful, angelic Linda was America’s sweetheart about this time. She was always the complete package, beauty, talent, and she was very smart about her career as well. She could sing any genre, even Opera. Check out her appearance opposite Rex Smith in the “Pirates of Penzance” film of the Gilbert and Sullivan musical. Being very proud of her Hispanic heritage on her father’s side, she’s done albums of traditional Mexican music, show tunes, you name it. So sad that Parkinsons has quieted that incredible instrument, now. I think she still sings privately with members of her family when they gather around her home. She has said she isn’t sad about it because, as a woman, she’d been given a lot in her life, many gifts, and lived a life many women would dream of. She’s been so lucky and blessed in life.

This is a beautiful song and Linda is a beautiful artist. However, I had never heard this version until after I heard Mindy McCready cover it live at a show called Girls Night Out in 1999. Then I fell in love with the song and that's when I found this one. No, Mindy's version isn't as dynamic as this one. But it is VERY emotional. Mindy dealt with a lot of struggle and tragedy in her short life, and she put her heart and soul into the performance. Plus it has the third verse others have mentioned. You should check that one out...if not for us, then at least for yourself.
