It's for ppl who want to use it, if the roles were reversed and it was Ellie and Dina, I'd still include it bc ppl would probably use it. For me, I don't think the scene makes sense for abby and owen at all to have sex but I kept it in bc some ppl would want to use that scene and that's their call, not mine. Obviously, if we saw the full picture of owen jr finding it's home in abby HAHAHA I CANT BELIEVE I JUST SAID THAT, then I just wouldn't Include it, even if it was Ellie and Dina bc that type of scene just wouldn't be a scene that editors I think would even be allowed to use it.
