We bought ours new in July 2023 and have just driven over 30,000 kms here in Thailand, achieving 24.3kms per litre, or just under 70 mpg imperial, with the air con in constant use and through mixed family driving, daily school run, shopping trips, weekends and fully laden holidays. The car is fabulous, well made, smooth, quiet, with great suspension and handling and fast enough to be driven in eco mode most of the time. Love the looks, the magic seats and the knobs and switches. It’s difficult to see how the car could be improved.
This car is heavily underrated by all the reviewers out there. Heavy petrol head here, i drive tested many of them before i bought one, from the likes of CX30, Toyota RAV4 ,Corolla Cross , CH-R Renault Austral, Alfa Tonale, Hyundai Tucson, Qashqai etc.. all of them hybrids except the CX30 186 Skyactiv X, austral and tonale are mild and not really hybrids. -The HR-V was by Far the most refined (the Civic and ZR-V , CR-V are the only ones better though) , it has alot of space, noone will mention the luggage space beneath the back seats, which i would say is more then 100l , since there is a big hole underneat them (which are also called "magic" and can be raised). Space on the rear seats is like in Mercedes S Class, nothing i mean nothing comes close from those cars mentioned above. The space behind in the trunk is not really 320 liters, its is far more and also if you count the volume space that can go up till glass its plus, and not to forget there is a large socket in the trunk aswell, + its a flat space when you put your seats down, campers can sleep here with 180cm length . Also Few things to mention -The fuel economy is so great, in city around 2.8-3l without special treat, 3.8l during 100kmh, 5.5 during 120kmh, on 130kmh it is around 6.9 (the CX30 is better on highways) No matter how much i push it on highway it will end up lower then 6 in total. -The performance is around 8.8 to 0-100kmh alot quicker then stated, and is faster them most of the cars in this segment to 80, only the Hyundai Tucson HEV with 260hp feels quicker. -The sound isolation and especially the comfort is AMAZING, PLEASE DO NOT listen to those reviewers out there complaining about the noise, they don't have a CLUE what they are talking about. Maybe they drive Porsche taycans far too often or they just hit the pedal till the medal all the time... Only and i mean ONLY if you 100% throttle heavy foot accelerating on Sport mode (on eco is quiter but slower) the noise from the engine complaining is obvious and many don't know that the models from 2023 and 2024 have better insulation then the previous versions from 2021, which contributes to 10kgs heavier car weight. And for that 100% throttle , well lets be real you will be doing this only to impress or showcase the car, i would say Less then 1-5% of the time, since if you want to pass a car in your line, on a highway or uphil the electric motor by itself with 50% throttle is MORE then fast and the engine will be relatively quiet the e-cvt managing the noise, and if you lift your leg even 5% off the throttle it immedietely silences the roaring so you will get used to that play and you won't loose much acceleration. I cannot imagine how this car is compared to other ones in B because it's clearly a C segment car and cheaper then oppenents. And the looks aswell... in the Sunlight White premium, it turns every 3rd head around, it's just Nuts how it attracts attention, maybe people don't know what it is or there are too few of them... You won't have that in Sportage or RAV4 or Tucson trust me .. (if you care about that, which i find it to be uncomfortable)
Nice looking car, as always great review, I think the issue with screens facing away slightly from the driver is that left hand drive cars are better catered for, had a few really annoying cars over the years like this
nowhere 460 range ? i filled up and drove 317 miles motorway and had to refill with 1 bar on the gauge.. I drove in standard mode and avg 53mpg. the recharge is a bit hit and miss for my liking, car is in petrol engine drive battery ¼ full. I can have ¾ battery but car is in petrol engine mode.. drove around yorkers and Lancashire avg 58-65
I still can't get my head around manufacturers making these daft, pop out electric door handles. More complicated than old style handles. Probably cost a lot more to produce and to repair and all for the sake of saving 0.0001% in drag! Glad Honda didn't for this H-RV. Another great review Mr. HR with not a single cyclist. Bar the one that was shown on the display of Honda's safety system!!
I've read the reviews from everywhere and they're generally positive, but always point to a lack of safety gear relative to competitors, underpowered for the Australian market, overpriced and having just four seats. For whatever reason, VFacts reported 547 toal Honda sales in November so it's up to Honda Australia to remedy these flaws because it's being outsold by Mercedes ... comfortably.
its sad that they moved the interesting things from the civic (i had the 2016) to the h-rv like the magic seats. no longer part of the civic line, also the motors. no diesel anymore for the civic. i loved my vtec diesel. (at least in europe)

The best review of a Honda HRV I’ve read/seen. True and extremely accurate.
Loved the small touch of adding the clock sound just like me kitchen clock 20 years ago haha. The magic seats are amazing

We love the Howard! I think the time was Ariel 44 font though.
I really like these. Easily one of the nicest small SUV's around. And its a Honda, which means quality.
Great car, can’t find any faults, 5 year service with Honda as well 👍
Daffodils in September?

I found the screen has quite bad glare due to its angle

and this is why Australians are considered to be the biggest whingers in the world

I was about to buy this car but what puts me off is its small front seats.
The best car at the moment is the master with the same engine best Toyota you know what I think
It's NOT free, but included in the price you paid.
In Asia is 1.5 l it should have been 1.8 in the hybrid minimum understand in Europe 2 l is perfect
Advance payments are ridiculous these days
Think it sits 30-50mm too high…
Love honda engines but the cars a bit drab
