I test drove one recently and was thinking of upgrading from my 2020 HRV Sport to the new model. The interior of the new generation is much better than my 2020 but it still has one huge problem. The engine is still anemic and underpowered in my opinion and the competition has much better powerplants.
The HR-V is a bit overpriced for what it is. The mpg is 'meh' considering the vehicle's size. It really needs a hybrid version. I believe Honda has a hybrid version sold elsewhere in the world.
I agree the Honda Fit is much more fun style wise and drive wise. My son has a 2015 Fit that still runs great. I've seen pics of the latest Fit model in Japan and the US is really missing out by Honda not offering it for sale here. I think they could make it profitable, especially if they sold the hybrid version here.

In the US, they don't need to add a hybrid, as these things are selling very well. For that move up to the CR-V.
