For how much Stephen loves the Kirby series he really should play some of the newer games because they are really fun and crank things up to 11 with all the crazy setpieces and ideas even if it sticks to the classic formula. He mentioned he liked the co-op aspect of Super Star and after the DKC LPs, I'd love to see you both do a co-op LP of Return to Dreamland.
I would REALLY REALLY love to see you guys play some of the more modern Kirby adventure games like Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, or Planet Robobot. They all play similarly to Super Star where each ability has their own moveset and you can guard and all that. They're great games!
I've played the virtual console version of it. The game is pretty great. You can 100% the game which is shown by white doors. You can unlock switches which open up special areas to get abilities, mini boss fights etc. Also the villain is Nightmare, not Marx. Marx is the cute innocent guy who is "totally" not evil in Kirby Super Star, Milky Way Wishes. and you said you loved Kirby Super Star.
Random fact, but Kirby games have almost no continuity between them with one exception which is known as the Dark Matter Trilogy, which oddly consisted of Dreamland 2, 3, and Kirby 64. The maker of Kirby has said although many wish for more from this trilogy, that Kirby 64 is the last we'll see of the Dark Matter continuity. Also "I'm pretty sure Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of this game. I think the final boss is Marx."......Seriously Stephen? NIGHTMARE in Dreamland?
There's also a "3D Classics" version of Kirby's Adventure available on the 3DS, which tweaked the graphics a little bit for stereoscopic 3D, and it looks amazing and very crystal clear! Speaking of the 3D Classics games, I think Kirby's Adventure and Kid Icarus (which actually got completely new backgrounds!) are the only good ones they released under that label, lol.
Whenever you guys get around to doing a full lets play of the Kirby games, you should do those co-op (or in Kirby 64's case alternating players) since Superstar was co-op. It'd be a fun little tradition just like the DKC titles.
"I think the boss in this game is Marx." Auughhh, Stephen I hate you so much!! Nightmare is one of my all-time favorite Kirby bosses, and you just outright forget about him?!
I'm holding a contest. Come up with a rhyme for PacMan that ends with the "e" sound. Good luck! On the twenty ninth day of Nintenmas, the Georgs played for me, A tale of Kirby, Uncle's at the island of C's, Pills for Everybody, Not the final Fantasy, Super C is Christmasy, Super Mario 3, Go avenge your girly, Super Fighting Ro-boy, A Ninja's pretty timely, The only game that's sporty, The adventure of Lonky, It's getting pretty Grindy, Dinos are feeling burpy, Mario, Toad and Peachy (Sorry Luigi), Mal's space shooting mastery, Little Mac's so tiny, Zelda's pretty needy, Samus needs that energy, Pity for Pitty, Simon's feeling whippy, Space shooting, we! Lots of death for free, Balloons vs Gravity, Super Plumbing glee, Jr saves daddy! Jumpman vs Donkey, Mario and Luigi, Ice Climber freezing, And Excitebike on Nintendo Mini!
I found out that the new Kirby game is compatible with every amiibo, and Kirby will "eat" the amiibo and get its power. It's not quite as comprehensive as it could be, but it's still a cool idea.

Marx was the final boss of Superstar (Ultra). --In more of the modern Kirby games they combined abilities (Fire/Fireball, Freeze/Ice, Spark/Laser) and scrapped a few (Throw, Backdrop). --If I was going to recommend anyone playing this, I'd say play Nightmare in Dreamland instead.
Nightmare In Dreamland is GBA remake, yes. I rather like it, kind of simple in comparison to other games but it's a lot of fun, bit unforgiving with difficulty though, despite what Stephen says
Either I'm the only one who see's it, or I'm the only one who is shit at Kirby, but Nightmare isn't easy. The main issue is enemies respawn the very second they scroll off screen, so you can run, grab health, turn around and wham, enemy respawned right on top of your face. Plus the enemy placement in it is designed for them to typically fall right on your head. I hate to plug my own stuff, but I've got videos, not recent, but it shows how bad I am at Kirby. I think people just forget because they don't play it often.
It depends on the game. I had troubles my first time playing Kirby 64, but only my first time. 64 has a nice strategy to it. I never knew about blocking in Super Star, but I found Super Star easier as it's a health bar opposed to preset number of hits I also don't remember Triple Deluxe pissing me off. But Nightmare is pretty ruthless in it's design, and the simple combat system makes any sort of skill based performance harder to achieve. And I've been playing Nighmare since it was new.
I only really played this Kirby game and watched the first 1.5 minutes of this video and already disagree. Kirby was used in so many genres like pinball, golf, yarn, etc. It to me hurted the franchise. Still nice to see you play the game. :)

12:06 No Mal! There was an invincibility candy there!
That was just one of a number of cringe-worthy moments in this episode...

Yeah, Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of Kirby's Adventure. I remember the minigames being really fun.
Love Kirby's Adventure! One of the few NES games I've actually managed to 100%.
Whenever you guys get around to doing a full lets play of the Kirby games, you should do those co-op (or in Kirby 64's case alternating players) since Superstar was co-op. It'd be a fun little tradition just like the DKC titles.
My first Kirby game was Super Star ultra, which was also my first DS game
I love my NES Classic, Kirby’s adventure is actually the main game I’ve been playing
"I think the boss in this game is Marx."
Auughhh, Stephen I hate you so much!! Nightmare is one of my all-time favorite Kirby bosses, and you just outright forget about him?!
I recently watched a Gamecenter CX episode on this game.

Colby Heaton if
Nightmare is the final boss of Adventure, which is why the remake is named Nightmare in Dream Land.
Man I grew up on the gameboy advanced version. Seeing it in its original form is interesting. I still think this is the best kirby game made.
Was kinda hoping Stephen would bring back Dro Kirby.
This is the best NES game.
I played this on the GBA remake Nightmare in Dreamland
I found out that the new Kirby game is compatible with every amiibo, and Kirby will "eat" the amiibo and get its power. It's not quite as comprehensive as it could be, but it's still a cool idea.
Firestar1992 What's it called? And what system will it be on? Because I have no intention of getting the Switch.
It's on the Wii U. Unfortunately, I don't remember its title. I was just browsing the amiibo section of Target when I saw it on the screen.
That's...just Planet Robobot.
linguicaguy Ohhh ok, thanks.
TheNinLegoGamer it's called Kirby planet robobot for 3ds
Such a good game

If you're talking about Broom Kirby copy ability, you're thinking about Kirby Dreamland 3 (The best kirby game imo)

What? That game was really easy for me (and every other game in the series).

JC4R I know Kirby and those problems were there but I dealt with em' and made the game my bitch.

JC4R I don't know what to tell you. I guess the series was nicer to me.
Nightmare is the final boss of this game and the remake.
wait did you do this game for first 20 or i was thinking of another kirby games?
Can you tell I love Kirby?
Yay Kirby is soooo cuta
Tomorrow is my birthday!
or you could, you know, get the NES classic
What is Kirby supposed to be anyways?
Jacob Mcclendon he's a Kirby, what else could he be
Modernjoe2 never got into anything Kirby so I did not know that there was more of them. Thanks for the reply.
He's an alien star warrior, an infant of his species and as far as the games and anime have told, the last of his species.
I only really played this Kirby game and watched the first 1.5 minutes of this video and already disagree. Kirby was used in so many genres like pinball, golf, yarn, etc. It to me hurted the franchise. Still nice to see you play the game. :)
Can you play the walking dead season 3
Play more popular games please
Smite X Popularity is subjective and you didn't even give any examples 😐
Madmushroom64 example ARK
Smite X 😦
I would say Nintendo games are very popular, especially the classics among the older generation that grew up with them.
Cute sorry I say Cuta
