Well, if Neil is the architect, he would say:"Life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix. You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably, here." Which means 1+1is not 2 and it' s the sum of a an unbalanced equation. ALSO, I'm running out of booze, so would you get me some for 7-Eleven... OR, I could just start my monologue from the start...
Just to clarify what I mean. The Architect designed all of the others. Perhaps some via delegation, as in some programs, like Sati, are made by other programs. But those in turn were made by the Architect. This is his method of operation.
Yeah it's cool! His clothes are mostly blue, too. But what I find peculiar is that the inside of his collar is an orangish red, and he has one red stripe on his socks. Could it be he has keys to the truth as well as deception?
Great little video! Keep up the pace, you got a real good rhythm going. As to the question: The therapist is definitely neither the Oracle nor the Architect - a new code designed to keep NEO where the Architect wants him - asleep I suspect that there will be a disagreement among the machines themselves about the next best step - and the rebel machines resurrected Neo and Trinity to try and wrestle control of the Matrix from the architect and heal the earth.
Well, the oracle changed the cycle by making neo fall in love with Trinity rather than humanity in general, so technically anything can happen... Because the changing of the cycle wasn't something he expertly planned.
He definitely comes across sinister, with his look and voice. Even the empathy comes across a bit insincere - like a machine attempting to act human. I get the sense that Neo/Thomas is nervous not only about his visions but also because he's beginning to question this supposed psychiatrist's motives. Perhaps keeping Neo sedated and analyzed it's a means by which the Architect can study and ultimately figure out how to eliminate him from the equation -- until a new band of red pills arrive to rescue him, by resurrecting Morpheus's consciousness to help jog Neo's memory through similarities and feelings of deja vu.
Patric Harris did apply for a villain role while casting, and the blue glasses are a clear message, unless he was hired for something else he is sinister on purpose.
@@winterrising8738 That would be awesome. It’s going to be fun watching what that means for her mannerisms, wordings, mimics and actions. Does she portray choices differently or how does she inhabit the knowledge of being the one. There’s so much storytelling here. I do think you are wrong though. The script was written out of grief, depression and loss and I think it’s more a story of how humans deal with the crisis happening when we feel the darkest and most horrible. I definitely see Neo experiencing trauma and crisis in the trailer and how he finds his way out of misery and the journey into his own self or truest self while humanity is whacked out.
I love that the therapist's glasses are blue. Looks to be the same color blue as the pill. Also when he's looking up at the birds, the building there, that is exactly where he fought smith in revolutions. Where smith drove him into the ground and created that huge hole.
Therapist is a program dedicated to keep Neo blue-pilled (his blue glasses and blue pills he prescribes for Neo). Jonathan Groff character is obviously new shell for agent smith (he says ‚back to the matrix’ where the fight between him and Neo has begun, and we can see him fighting Neo in one of teasers scene)

It seems like programs never age, they just change shells. The Oracle and Sati are two different programs, so there wouldn't be any need for a new Oracle, unless she wanted a backup, or maybe to retire.
He is a program created to keep Neo under control. The architect said he can’t get rid of the anomaly which is Neo, so the machines created means to deal with this. One of those is this psychiatrist who is trying to maintain Neo in a numb state so that he won’t wake up again. There is always a chosen one as the program recreates it over and over again and they can’t fix it. This version is a new attempt to keep the chosen one under control while studying it to find its true motives. The machine are curious about Neo and that’s probably because of the interaction with the Deus Ex Machina from the Matrix Revolutions. Honestly just the fact that Zion gets destroyed all the time and the chosen one is always reborn I believe both worlds are simulations and we don’t actually know what is the real world. I’m sure the machines are aware of this and maybe Neo is the key to open up the other world.
I agree, I do think also that the therapist was created for neo. However I don’t think the machines intend to understand his motives, that was more smiths motive it would seem. To leave the matrix and understand why the humans persist and understand the human perspective, he hated the matrix he craved truth. The machines seem more devoted to assimilation, making the humans go with the flow and maintain control of their consciousness. What we need to know at this point is why the conflict? Why is the matrix attacking neo and why does it want this control of him. Why are they so afraid of him when the deus ex must be what revived him to begin with? There must be some unfinished business, something that survived within the code of the old matrix that deus ex still needs him for but something powerful within the matrix is trying to keep him suppressed. We need more information..
Already wrote this multiple times, but I bet the blue code is related to Zion simulation, you may even see blue code on Trinity waking up in real world
Thats fundamentally wrong, though. He doesnt know Neo, or he would be able to prevent the anomaly. He is trying to understand and thus prevent it, which he specifically wasnt doing before, he was simply reiterating and trying new variables in the equation. Now he is trying to manipulate the variables in real time, preventing Neo from awaking, aka the anomaly occurring.
The Oracle definitely was a therapist, but not of the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic schools. Everything she said had a reason, to motivate a character on their own accord/choice. She also soft persuaded characters come to their own conclusion, i.e., so I'd say a form of a self-help CBT with some dialectical behavioural therapy thrown in.

They wouldn't cast such a big name actor and put him front-and-center in the trailer if he wasn't integral to the plot of the movie, but I do like the Dr. Frey theory. Perhaps Dr. Frey is yet another "intuitive program" like the Oracle and has been for a long time. The Architect never said The Oracle was the ONLY "intuitive program," just that she was a particularly clever one. Other theories have speculated that the Merovingian and Percephony were once filling the role of "intuitive program" as well, so perhaps there are several important programs with the purpose of understanding emotion deployed throughout the simulation filling different roles.

Of all the options, "normal human" doesn't seem like the likely answer. xD That's all I know! NPH would be a combination of both, just based off of the subtle behavioral hints in the trailer. He's innately analytical, but understands that human emotion is one of the strongest variables in the human equation, and therefore is a hybrid program. The best (or worst parts, depending on your perspective) of both programs. He's attempting to provide Neo a logical explanation for his depressive and almost nihilistic state of mind, all the while letting him try to rationalize it himself. He's a sentinel program, a guardian of sorts. He's there to make sure that Thomas doesn't do something drastic to awaken himself, or to awaken others like him. This does leave the question: Does this sentinel program actually follow it's programming, or does it evolve later on to determine who is "allowed" to wake up?
A cool little detail is that I've noticed, nothing too strange but symbolic is that in the psychiatrist office there's a blue butterfly that symbolizes Change or Rebirth - I gotta thank Life is Strange for me noticing that
The Analyst appears to be different from both the Pythia and the Architect; Maybe the peace between machines and redpills lead to the machines trying different approaches (other than agents with guns), to keep awakening bluepills in check.
The therapist is a new entity. Developed specifically for Neo’s one of a kind situation. I’d imagine many things have happened specifically due to his one of a kind situation.
Therapist: Neo, you're going to be legen...wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant cos the second half of that word is...DARY!!! LEGENDARY!!!
The first matrix movie was an allegory to Alice in Wonderland, where Matrix 4 is synonymous with Alice through the looking glass, the sequel to the original Alice in wonderland. Everything is the same but in reverse… meaning the “blue" people are the good guys, and the "red" ones are not. Like the Blue hair girl, vs a young Morpheus. It even shows the book for the Alice in wonderland sequel in the trailer.
And I agree about the Matrix within the Matrix theory, because in the second Alice in wonderland, she shouldn’t wake up the Red King because he is dreaming about Alice, and if he wakes up, she will no longer exist, and at the end of the story Alice wonders who was really dreaming of whom, her or the Red King?
Maybe the cat is there to protect the Matrix from Neo. Like if his powers lash out, the cat comes in to fix it. Imagine having that much power, and being mentally unstable. That is one dangerous combination
Check out what Jessica Henwick looks like in other photos on the internet and look at the frame in trailer when Trinity is screaming and splits into other face. Trinity's avatar is the girl with blue hair! Interesting.
This is version 7 of the Matrix. Movie takes place 60 years in the future. Neo apparently rebooted the Matrix somehow. Both Neo and Trinity were saved from death and reinserted into the Matrix by the machines. They didn't age as the other characters did. They were placed back into pods and ages slower. Original Morpheus is dead. A virtual and incomplete copy of his character is programmed into the matrix. He is initially an agent and is turned by Jessica Henwick (Bugs). Morpheus and Bugs become a team to find Neo. NPH is "The Analyst", a rogue program, poses as Neo's therapist and is vying for control of the Matrix. He keeps Neo mentally subdued as he struggles to understand whether his life is real and having flashbacks of the previous Matrix. He believes he is dead and stuck in the afterlife. He sees Trinity and recognizes her in a coffee shop. She now is married with a child. Neo struggles with the recognition and The analyst tries to keep him under the impression that Trinity is not Trinity. Bugs and Morpheus find Neo and try to convince him that Trinity is still alive. He doesn't believe them because he saw her die. Eventually Neo believes them. They take Neo out of the matrix with a red pill, as before. They meet Niobe, who is now an old woman in Zion. New Morpheus has no body. He is a "Codex". He also doesn't remember everything. Neo, AI Morpheus and Bugs board a ship to free Trinity from her pod and apparently wake her up in the matrix. Lots of dancing between the Matrix and real world. Agent Smith still exists and is played by Jonathan Groff. The analyst is the main villain, but Smith exists as well. Smith has normal agent abilities, but not the virus ability in the previous movie. Neo gets beaten by Smith in one scene because Trinity is required for him to have all of his abilities as The One. The Merovingian is an old man who I guess explains how the new Matrix is dissimilar to version 6. Apparently, characters who were copied onto the new matrix are considered, "Remapped". Smith brought the Merovingian, who escaped the Matrix reboot into the new Matrix. Apparently, in the movie, Trinity is the key to Neo's power and at one point actually gains the same powers; flying, etc. (thus the behind the scenes filming scene of the two suspended by cables). The culmination of the story has Neo and Trinity meeting the Analyst in a coffee shop and The analyst trying to strike a deal for control of the Matrix. If Trinity walks through the door and recognizes him, He will leave. If not, he will fight Neo for control, because without Trinity, Neo does not have his full abilities. Trinity recognizes Neo and a battle commences. Apparently there is an AI that infects the people of city and controls their minds. They are ordered to attack Neo and Trinity. This would be the chase scene referenced in the teaser. After the climactic fight calms down, Neo and Trinity confront the Analyst at his house and apparently Trinity begins mutilating his face and reassembling it with her powers as a warning. The very last image is that one Neo and Trinity holding hands and flying into the camera together.
Is there anywhere I can find a list of all the songs used in these videos? There's a particular song used in a lot of the other videos that I'm trying to track down.
Could be the oracle, I suppose. There's definitely some color play going on, indicating they are both blue and red. Blue sweater, red/white shirt. Gray socks with blue/red stripes. Red/blue butterfly on the wall. Red blanket on the chair in the background, blue paperweight on the desk. It feels like it's meant to indicate a balance between the red/blue, or a harmony. Neutrality could be indicated by the white of the shirt, or additional white stripes on the socks. There's a lot of different ways you can look at it, I suppose.
the therapist has blue glasses. this is symbolism that he champions a view of the world through the frame of blue ...blue pill type perspective... accepting what is seen. It is a subtle touch but perfect attention to detail we find in Matrix. he also wears blue clothing... even further associating him with that hue which he prescribes with his pills.
One must consider the color composition of the therapist. Not only a blue sweater-vest, but also blue glasses. Glasses not only cover our eyes (help us see, and what we see through, in order to properly focus on the world), but also are seen by everybody else that looks at the person. Also, in The Matrix, sunglasses were considered "pieces of armor". There is also blue in his plaid shirt in the close up *7:30) , but from farther away it appears red (7:36). Why is that? Also notice the color stripes on his socks. From farthest up the leg going down towards the foot, we have Yellow/god, blue, red, and what looks like a white. Yellow was used for some code like Seriph and Machine City. Red is the Red Pill Blue the Blue Pill (also tint used to represent the real world), and white light contains all colors of light in one. This seems to be showing separation (separate stripes) but also perhaps a coming together of different factions (all stripes are on one sock, equal in distance and width.) What program wishes unity? The Oracle!
Waiting for Matrix explained to talk about - Déjà vu cat wearing that specially designed collar and Trinity’s designed wrist bracelet, l think the collar and bracelet are linked and have shared meaning of control. You will notice in the fast clips near the beginning of the trailer, when Neo and Trinity join hands and the light appears from their hands, Trinity is NO longer wearing the bracelet.
Nobody asked, but in the trailer, in the clip with neo keeling with a gun being pointed at his head, you can see what kind of gun it is. Its a Desert Eagle. Who else famously used a Deagle in the matrix, I wonder?
I find it interesting that the woman wearing the red glasses look almost exactly like neil patricks blue glasses, both very similar in terms of transparency and one is very red, and neil's is very blue clearly very much like the symbolism behind the pills. but the lady with red glasses is sati or the oracle? which would then make sense if neil is maybe a new program entirely meant to distract and keep Neo supressed.
One more thing about the Cat. It now has a collar and bell in previous times we had a seemingly stray cat with no collar. Yet another sign of controlled changes.
I love this channel. Best Matrix Channel on Web. Your voice has changed since you started making the videos for the new Matrix 4 Your voice seems happier or reborn/rebooted into a new Matrix 😁
Please mention the framed blue butterfly in the therapists room. It is a symbol for mind control :) the therapist is the marriage of the architect and the oracle. Rules and Manipulation in one person.
I believe he sees himself as he is suppose to look, like a man in his 80s bc I believe this is suppose to take place like 60 years after part 3. Although the guy in the mirror didn’t look much like neo, however the architect did say there were others before neo. Now if you watch the trailer and pause it when Trinity screams, some of the faces surrounding hers is not her face. So I believe it could be different versions of themselves from past matrix.
NPH's voice patterns sound more similar to Agent Smith, though I do think this is a new "program" instead of an old enemy masked in a new body. The "businessman" in the chair could def be the Merovingian though. He seems like a critique of a "Hollywood Executive"
I still say the psychologist is just a program supposed to learn how the "anomaly" works, how to rein it in and how to counter it. Basically an AI supposed to learn how to deal with the problem this anomaly causes. They stuffed Neo into a construct-like, Truman-show-esque world to study him.
I feel like the Architect would create a therapist rather than disguise himself as one
He still looks like if he wants to sell me a bucket of Extra Crispy or Original Recipe!

A cool little detail is that I've noticed, nothing too strange but symbolic is that in the psychiatrist office there's a blue butterfly that symbolizes Change or Rebirth - I gotta thank Life is Strange for me noticing that
There also one that looks like it's half red and blue.
Everything in the therapists office is blue. Including his glasses.
I vote he’s a program.
The Analyst appears to be different from both the Pythia and the Architect; Maybe the peace between machines and redpills lead to the machines trying different approaches (other than agents with guns), to keep awakening bluepills in check.
That black deja vu cat is an amazing actor . Oscar worthy performance .
Does Neil Patrick's glasses blue frame means something?
Mr. Anderson , SUIT UP ! 😅
The therapist is a new entity. Developed specifically for Neo’s one of a kind situation. I’d imagine many things have happened specifically due to his one of a kind situation.
every matrix explained intro i go from six to midnight
00:28 I never really thought about how The Oracle's candies were made to look like red piles.
Agents become therapists in the new version of Matrix as a form of control.
True that. Not all therapists are solutions to mental illnesses. But more of analysts and controllers of mental illnesses.
Therapist: Neo, you're going to be legen...wait for it and I hope you're not lactose intolerant cos the second half of that word is...DARY!!! LEGENDARY!!!
The Architect doesn't need to hide in plain sight. He sees everything anyway.
You’re crushing it !
The therapist glasses has the same blue tint as the blue pills...especially when they show him from the side view!!!
I like the idea that the therapist could be a replacement for the Oracle.
The narrator on this channel has the best voice on the internet
Can't wait
Yes, Dr Frey. oracle yellow, control blue, = Green Matrix
Maybe the cat is there to protect the Matrix from Neo. Like if his powers lash out, the cat comes in to fix it. Imagine having that much power, and being mentally unstable. That is one dangerous combination
Tetsuo (Akira)
Morpheus: Red shirt
The Analyst: Blue shirt
Am I right?
I gotchu Matrix Explained; That's Neil Patrick Harris. Next question!
I believe this matrix is built specifically to house Neo,s and Trinitys Consciousness.
It is a very interesting topic.. but I guess we have to wait for almost three months and see
I think the therapist........is a system of control!
Yes! Well, he’s seems like some type of high-level ‘debugging’ program for Neo.
Exactly! When he’s in the tub with the rubber duck on his head he is “rubber duck debugging”
@@fledguitarplayer43 That is Neo debugging his code.
Oh really 😊 that's a nice one from a dearest fan such as you,. Where are you watching from and what channel are you broadcasting from☺️🌹
Glad you didn't put add at the end!
Subbed, use to watch you...figure I better sub now to keep up with you and the new movie :-)
the second trailer has to convince me with these questions
Wait until this movie comes out. Content for decades.
The building in the scene where Neo looks up to the birds in the trailer looks very similar to the continental hotel from John Wick
I think hes going to be key to the plot at any rate. Probably the focus of some plot twists.
The Oracle!
It was sati who wanted unity
The snowglobes are interesting. One is a blue object but one kinda looks like a sentinel
whoa, you're right 😳
Looks to me like Neo's therapist is Neil Patrick Harris.
Neo Patrick Harris
Waiting for Matrix explained to talk about - Déjà vu cat wearing that specially designed collar and Trinity’s designed wrist bracelet, l think the collar and bracelet are linked and have shared meaning of control. You will notice in the fast clips near the beginning of the trailer, when Neo and Trinity join hands and the light appears from their hands, Trinity is NO longer wearing the bracelet.
I've been wondering this since I saw the trailer
No doubt, that man…
he is “MRS. DOUBTFIRE”
I love this channel. Best Matrix Channel on Web.
Your voice has changed since you started making the videos for the new Matrix 4
Your voice seems happier or reborn/rebooted into a new Matrix 😁
This therapist is beginning to look SINISTER all the sudden lol
Please mention the framed blue butterfly in the therapists room. It is a symbol for mind control :) the therapist is the marriage of the architect and the oracle. Rules and Manipulation in one person.
The therapist enunciates like Mr Smith
The architect looks like he would hate a cat 🐈⬛ 😂
The face Neo sees in the mirror is the Architect with longer unkempt hair
Totally plausible I agree
This channel is INSANE
Is it just me, or does he sound like, Mr. Smith?
Definitely not just you
that's the voice of Jonathan Grof, not Neil Patrick Harris
