PTV once used to be an institution where intellectuals of the era would write dramas, direct them and act in them. All of them were giants of their filed and were such characters that watching them had always been a joy. Finally in the new millennium a tsunami of private commercial channels took all over the world. The tidal waves are still passing over and the cultural values are drowning fast under those gigantic and disastrous waves. Now we have all sorts of slangs usage and craps uttered by even female, leave alone the males. So when we look back to those programs from the last, we get mesmerized to see what our cultural values once used to be. It’s a fun for the host today to address his guests as “Abay, Tu, chhor Yar, kia kahta hai” etc. etc to demonstrate their frankness together. They don’t bother to think what a child would learn from them. Dilip Saheb address a very junior artist Moin Akhtar with “Aap ne abhi farmaya”. Just imagine and look at the place where Dilip Saheb was standing.

I’ve always carried a torch for Sir Sunil Dutt, as he was a very caring, kind and built unity, spoke perfect Urdu and also was a great actor! Mother India blew me over with his presence, and also his amazing film Sujata dealing with the brutal concept of the ‘untouchable’ Dutt had what We term insaaniyat a social conscious! Dilip Kumar was an accomplished actor and even his lip synching was so real you almost felt he was singing! Aadmi and Gunga jumna, Mughal e Adam,kohinoor,Daag , leader etc Both actors were also very very good looking young men!

PTV once used to be an institution where intellectuals of the era would write dramas, direct them and act in them. All of them were giants of their filed and were such characters that watching them had always been a joy. Finally in the new millennium a tsunami of private commercial channels took all over the world. The tidal waves are still passing over and the cultural values are drowning fast under those gigantic and disastrous waves. Now we have all sorts of slangs usage and craps uttered by even female, leave alone the males. So when we look back to those programs from the last, we get mesmerized to see what our cultural values once used to be. It’s a fun for the host today to address his guests as “Abay, Tu, chhor Yar, kia kahta hai” etc. etc to demonstrate their frankness together. They don’t bother to think what a child would learn from them. Dilip Saheb address a very junior artist Moin Akhtar with “Aap ne abhi farmaya”. Just imagine and look at the place where Dilip Saheb was standing.

I’ve always carried a torch for Sir Sunil Dutt, as he was a very caring, kind and built unity, spoke perfect Urdu and also was a great actor! Mother India blew me over with his presence, and also his amazing film Sujata dealing with the brutal concept of the ‘untouchable’ Dutt had what We term insaaniyat a social conscious!
Dilip Kumar was an accomplished actor and even his lip synching was so real you almost felt he was singing! Aadmi and Gunga jumna, Mughal e Adam,kohinoor,Daag , leader etc Both actors were also very very good looking young men!

Urdu is being studied, excelled in the land which is Pakistan today since 1700. Many Poets like Iqbal who was a Punjabi, Faiz who was a Pathan, SM Pawar who was a Sindhi, established themselves as the pioneer of Urdu poetry.
Today according to any study or finding, Urdu is on decline in India academically, it is also being subjected to discrimination - I am not saying this, you may go look up for the information from your own Indian sources.
On the other hand, Urdu is flourishing in Pakistan.
