Emmet is arguably the best pianist of his generation. Sometimes he is an astonishing encyclopedia of jazz history; here he is much more than that, playing with a freedom I'm not used to.
Love how Emmet brings the action, flavor, and cohesion of progressive jazz and stride fusion into a modern elevator music soundscape with flawless construction and showmanship
EMMITT THIS REMINDS ME OF THE DAYS WHEN JAZZ WAS FEATURED ON LATE NIGHT TV OR PBS. NOW THE DRUMMERS SUIT ALONE IS REASON TO SEE ARE DOWN WITH THE PROFESSIONAL TONE. I LOVE IT. YOU ARE MOST CERTAINLY A CONCERT ARTIST SO MANY MORE CAN SEE YOU. HE IS IN SHAPE. THANK YOU FOR THE POST. YOU ARE PLAYING GREAT.
They get lots of love. Trust me. Joe Farnsworth had a long residency in NYC and Emmet is well regarded by his elders as much as his musical contemporaries.
My only complaint is that the microphone to the left of Joe Farnsworth has cast an odd shadow on his face and shoulder. Sometimes it looks like he has a mullet and other times it just looks like Nosferatu is hanging around him. 🧛🏻♂️
Joe Farnsworth is a legend, dressed to the nines, honoring the music and traditions of jazz, Emmet is a monster. Dig this.

Part of that is the Dakota… such a great relaxing room. But also, the cats he’s playing with… man it’s something else
The versatility in style and melodic developmemt construction is outstanding. You can play along and have fun in real time
Im used to
Curation #10...his inflections are so precise and pragmatic
Awesome performance, and awesome message Emmet delivers at 1:10:00-1:14:00. Thank you for the music and positivity, Emmet, Reuben, and Joe!
No way! I was at this show and was wondering if I would be able to relive it. It was great to meet you Mr. Cohen. Thank you for your music!

The Dakota is #thebest and Emmet being there made it #thebestever

Happy Birthday Reuben Rogers 🥳 bluesy solos, driving 360bpm to deep pocket ballads, what a birthday present!

Guys, this trio keeps getting better every time I hear you. Just crazy good!!!
Watching this in England and thinking I'll be seeing the trio in London three weeks tonight.
Love from Minnesota!
emmet needs more recognition dude this is amazing
He's one of the most popular and in demand living jazz pianists
@@PieInTheSky9 yeah and he should get even more recognition

Joe is the ideal drummer for EC. These cosmic solo's. - e.g. "Surrey" - are mind-blowing.
I was at this show!! It was great!!
Fuck yeah ! The Dakota is awesome
EC3 always top notch. Love the birthday quotes in Emmet's opening.
This trio is absolutely insane
Seriously man
I am so sorry I missed him in Ohio. I thought I looked all around for when he was touring. Evidently, I did not look well enough. 😭😭😭
These guys are so underrated
They get lots of love. Trust me. Joe Farnsworth had a long residency in NYC and Emmet is well regarded by his elders as much as his musical contemporaries.
