In short It's an inspiration!
This was a magical night: the venue, the audience, the piano, the lighting and, of course, Emmet, Kyle, and Phillip. Each had standout moments (Phillip on Love is a Many Splendid Thing, Emmet on Where is Love, Kyle on Thag's Dance and more!), Together, they were inspired and inspiring as a synchronous group with seeming mental telepathy. Emmet draws from others and you can hear Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal, Cedar Walton, Barry Harris, Rachmaninoff, James P. Johnson, and more - BUT Emmet sounds new and entirely recognizable with his own style and sound. Then, there are the words he shares - he is a vehicle for the good in the world.
You saying something very significant here , I think … Even more than you might even fully realize ….That was just a SPIRITUAL REVIVAL for me 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 For Real 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This recording will serve as a testament to Emmet's place as one of the Greats. I know I'll return to this one over the course of my life in the coming decades to reminiscence on the joy he brought to my ears in my early 20s when I first discovered him during the pandemic... Kyle and Philip are right there with him. Bravo and thank you
A very really brilliant raising star in music, this Emmet Cohen is growing so fast with such a variety of tunes and moods (thank to a talented trio), he is capturing my attention more and more again!
I was lucky enough to be on vacation in Stockholm around the the 5th of April. So I could attend this concert. What a night.... The music was mindblowing and in the combination with this beautiful venue I will certainly never forget it! Than you gentlemen!
Philip Norris on bass is a wonder, he makes this consert lift higher than the moon. Without him this consert also should be good, but Philip is the one that makes this consert a real jazz gem. Beeing from northern Sweden I was not at this consert, but Im glad that I always can come back to this consert on TH-cam.
Outstanding "Chamber- music". All three are exquisit musicians Emmet obviously enjoys his Steinway greatly! Thank you all! ( a classical pianist, we all can learn from you!)
Emmet, thank you! Your trio is amazing, you guys are great! You should come to Armenia! We have jazz festivals every Autumn in Yerevan, and don't forget to bring Lucy Yeghiazaryan! 😘💖💞
It all sounds fabulous! Congratulations. I have to give a special shout-out to Kyle Poole. I watch all the Cohen videos to see his drumming. Absolutely loved his performance and the drum solo is one of his best! Thank you.
Lovely gig, and refreshing to see the WRITERS properly credited for the songs. A real bugbear of mine is that performers either say nothing about the composers and lyricists who gave us the songbook, or (worse still) perpetuate the nonsense that these songs “belong” to a particular artist (usually a vocalist and not infrequently Nat Cole) who happens to have recorded a version that sold a lot of copies or was in a film.
And what a wonderful jazz-loving audience! The interaction between the musicians and the public is quite charming. Please also note the hymn at I:06:10 "Bliv kvar hos mig" the words are in Swedish, in English "Abide with me, fast falls the eventide"
I think it has just moved to around the 59 minute mark. After the initial concert is posted, I think Emmet/ his assistants usually later trim out some of the gaps between the music which is why the time stamp has moved.
With Emmet you can hear all the Jazz in one concert. Cultured, innovative, virtuoso, original like only those who have studied and understood jazz thoroughly. After 48 years of listening only to jazz, I can never get tired and find new enthusiasm. Thanks Emmet and thanks to all the musicians who play with you or who have done so far!

Stop playing with the camera. The people who listen to this music don't have a short little attention span and don't need to be constantly visually stimulated to enjoy the music. Yes I loved the touch of Abide with Me! Here in the UK it’s a hymn often used at funerals, so always a very moving piece in my view
