Hey I know ths is ages old. AND I also know they're all young, but actually there are several points where percussion let the band off tempo. The snare in particular is challenging for this song, but in the first half he was actually pulling the band down which is rare in younger drummers. I think the subtle differences in tempo and the expressive parts of the song are just a result of a musical difference in culture. Also, the low brass is suffocated by the acoustics in that room; need more volume of tuba players to balance that out in a tight space. The big low brass drive at the end was lacking emotion and power and again that may just be how they visualized the music. Overall not bad at all for some kiddos trying to learn music. Props!
@@coryp6868 yeah, I don’t even remember watching this video but now that I rewatch it, I really don’t know what I was saying then 😂 was definitely too young to even comprehend what was going on here.
Wow! They can play very close to the original. I'm impressed lol! Edit: I'm actually playing this for a Spring Concert in May 2022...ok me go practice it
It's what happened to me the first time I sight-read that part, but come on, this is some kind of performance, that should not have happened. He's had too much time to practice for that mistake to happen, unless the problem was with the horn.
Idk If there music is a bit different than mine but the clarinets repeated rhythm at 29 and other parts should have a slur in it but you can barely hear them anyways
This has been stated already, but I agree that the tempo was pushed. And I love the way the precussion section sped the pace so smoothly.

@@paniccpoint all good :)
Where?
was that the only horn they could've recruited
I think the woodwinds did great tho. For the Clarinet section, they played the dynamics correctly for the repeated melody
I agree, also the 1st clarinet part is quite difficult ngl .^.
That is some very well played contrast in dynamics
Wow! They can play very close to the original. I'm impressed lol!

Me too!!
That's the greatest complement, THANKS
@@ILYSWBIts spelled Compliment
The first horn solo, such a shame.
Joyce Li beside the first horn there wind chime
Joyce Li I noticed that too. Even the snare drum part when it starts speeding up
As a fellow Horn player, I agree.
As a horn, so tru.
Tempo pushed abit overall good, but I'm so glad I saw this, for my band I'm the clarinet soloist so either way I say great job to all of them!😁
I dont care what anyone says, 3:57 out to the end was done masterfully in my opinion.
They fucked up the horn solo and i think the tempo seemed faster
Azndude 101 it sounds better faster in my opinion
Faster tempo was probably custom
Im blown away. great job but the trumpet did thud during her solo, and the french horn solo fell flat. but awesome job otherwise
Can't even make fun of the trumpet player first solo I just did the same thing in assessment I got nervous
1:02 This is a great performance but I'm questioning my existence because I think I just heard the chimes fall flat... Tf
Nope you definitely did and it hurts my life
I wish I could have heard more oboe, and that horn solo like stale bread but otherwise ok.
George Lynch True, but there's only one oboe. Trust me, I know how that works :,)))))) I get covered up by brass all the damn time
Wait a second that oboe just sat there during the 3/4 section. Shame on him.
As a horn player... It's hurts hearing the first horn and euphonium solo,it's like getting punched in the stoma...oh nevermind
The guy who played the baritone didn’t have enough confidence
He also rushed the solo
BY FAR THE GREATEST LOCOMOTIVE CHASE ON TH-cam!!!!!!! Better than the original !!!!! Lol
To fast
Thanks for liking the performance
1:03 I think that was the glockenspiel and whatever that other instrument was..... they didn’t sound so.. eh.. good?
The trombone solo was good tho..
Doggo236 FIRST OF ALL- that was a euphonium and it was horrible
It’s called a barritone btw
For most younger kids they like to call the euphonium a baritone, but its actual name is in fact a euphonium
NIGGA THERES NO TROMBONE SOLO
It was a Euphonium, and THEY FUCKING SLAUGHTERED OUR PART.
Eh, the tempo was a little faster and one of the solos were off. But actually really good! Good job.
The bass clarinet is noticably absent at the 3/4 part
Euphonium solo = butchered.
It's what happened to me the first time I sight-read that part, but come on, this is some kind of performance, that should not have happened. He's had too much time to practice for that mistake to happen, unless the problem was with the horn.
It mega sucks because that's a really awesome part.
They fucking rushed it, slaughtered our part
Full experience with .75
lol
Whole song=butchered
Tempo butchered it/generally was good ig trumpet went flat at beginning ;-;
Good dynamics 👌
I kind of like it fast but I couldn't play this fast.
Nice breath at the end guys. Nice job 👍👌.
Thanks
Good but it doesn’t make sense that the clarinet soloist is second chair 💀
Alexi Fuentes Every Band doesn’t get placed in chairs based on their skill 💀
some bands place people in order of what part they play (first parts near the middle) my band does this and it actually works nicely
I know I do too. But this band might not be doing that.
first chair isn’t always solos for some bands
Idk If there music is a bit different than mine but the clarinets repeated rhythm at 29 and other parts should have a slur in it but you can barely hear them anyways
the euphonium player messed up
They rushed, ruined our part (I'm a Euphoniumist, I played this a month ago for a concert and got all 1s as I was our only euph)
I knew it was gonna sound great cause they are asian
That's racist. They just practice more than you
They kinda messed up though.
TRAIN SONGGGGGGG LETS GOOOOOOOO
choo choooooo
Wrong notes from the euphonium
Only thing I can say, less of an instrument when it's not the MELODY.
Yall dont need to judge them just like it for what it is. This song is not the best anyway
people be saying they butchered the horn solos but tbh they butchered the *whole damn thing*
This was kinda bad
WTF NO BASSOONS THAT'S JUST DISGRACEFUL UGH
sorry if I spellef that wrong...
percussion was a disgrace
DISGRACE
