One of the better instructional series I've watched. Erred on the side of completeness, which is the better vice. Those who are familiar knew much of this but there are a number of little tricks that I found useful.
New to the climber world and put it to use this hunting season. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs I felt safe while climbing up and down a tree. It did take some time getting used to climbing and descending the tree. Once I figured it out I was comfortable going in climbing a tree knowing I was going to be up a tree quickly and most importantly quite not scaring every deer out of my area. I am 6’2” and 240 lbs, fit and comfort were great. I bow hunt and found no issues hunting from it. It is a little bulky to carry in and out of the woods vs some of the smaller open front climbers but I thought it was worth the bulk/weight due to ease of climbing (using the rail to sit on) and comfort for long sits.
I take the seat bungy and go around the stand. Then I take the packing strap around the stand and push the seat back so it does not flop around like that. Then it is right there to go around the top portion and the tree to secure it
Is there a reason you tie your gear rope to the lower section? Seems like it would be harder to reach down there. I have mine tied to the upper rail, but never considered the lower one. Just wondering if there was a reason I wasn't thinking of.
I'm just getting into bow hunting and am wanting a self climber. I'm thinking about the summit viper sd. This video series is great! My question is about safety harnesses. Does the one that comes with it come with the tether and tree strap? I was looking at hunter safety system ones and you had to get the tree strap separate I think.
Redneck Mechanic it does, but get yourself another harness. Amazon, search "bow Hunter safety". the first harness to show up is like $50, and it's great.
the little bungy cables that make the seat sit upright. when I sit on the seat they stretch out looking like they are trying to support my weight doesnt seem right what do I do?
+Brandon Pondo .When you attach the seat back to the tree don't pull it tight, let the seat hang loose.Supporting your weight is not it's job, holding the seat back up is.Be careful, you will be putting your weight near the tree.Foot platform may shift.Practice in the off-season, low to the ground. ALWAYS USE YOUR HARNESS!
good video . this or the lone wolf is better? i'm big guy 250... my hunting buddies have tree stands with hard crossover pts from ladder pegs to small stand so bc Im big I want to control my own destiny. any help appreciated.
what kind of a tree strap are you using, the strap connecting your saftey harness to the tree? i also use a summit, goliath, it almost too big, i kinda wish i bought the viper. great vid

Thank you for using your safety harness and describing it as part of the process, and not saying "I'm doing it today b/c it's a demonstration...".
How does he "readjust the angle on the stand"

Safety harnesses are dangerous! No way I'd wear one.
Please get better microphone quality

Height. There is no H on the end of that word.
