Great video! I watched all 3, and I gotta tell ya, it’s great to see how much confidence you have in this stand! I just picked one up today at Cabela’s in Gainesville, VA, and put it all together, and watched the accompanying dvd. This is my first climber, and you showed me everything I need to know about it. Great job, and good luck on your hunts. Cheers!
Wow I've been using the summit viper my uncle gave me for the last 4 seasons and never knew you were also supposed to use that strap that holds the stand together for transport to secure the top section to the tree...glad this video showed up in my feed today. Thanks for sharing
Great vids and thanks for these. Very helpful for a flatlander that recently has moved into some areas with trees big enough to hunt out of and looking into using a climber.
Thanks for these videos. I've used climbing stands for years, started out when all we had was Baker's, if that tells you anything, and i still picked up some tips.
thanks for the review, I have not used my for 4 or 5 years and forgot how to use it. I had only used it about 4 time when I first got it. now I feel a lot better about using it this evening.
I just bought my viper and was interested to see your video. I was not impressed with Summit's directions!!!! Still your video left unanswered how to put together the two pieces as a pack and using the strap to hold it together. The pad gets in the way too. Also, I find the pad in the way when climbing and I want to see the bottom stand as it moves up. Finally, how do you do it in the dark!!! that is the question. I had to go out and practice on a few trees to work out some "kinks". Thanks
Excellent Video. Some of your tips and watch out for(s) could be alleviated by the use of Third Hand Archery's stabilizer straps. The straps would help lock the stand to the tree both on getting into the stand, climbing, and getting out of the stand when you are finished hunting for the day. They are cheap to buy and it's surprising that Summit does not include them as a part of their package. Take a look at them
Thank you very much. Great videos! Haven't found part 4 yet though. I just bought this stand and will be bow hunting for first time this year. I'm subscribed!
What kind of tree is the best for climbing pine, oak or hard wood ? I had bought a Summit Viper SD a little afraid of heights. Trying to defeat my fears been practicing climbing every weekend to get use to it. I lost too many deer in a blind so I am trying a tree stand. People told me to stay away from pines. Seem like you know better with more experience because I view all parts of these videos several times and try to do everything safe.
Whoa! Keep that safety strap on that tree on the way down! Falling on your neck from 30' feet on your way up a tree is just as bad as 30' on your way down the tree.
@jkx04 That's the strap that came with the climber to hold them together when you have it configured to be a backpack.

@TheDuckaholic - I know this 10month old, but I usually bungee cord my pack into the stand for transport into my hunting location.
Just got this stand for my birthday! Thanks for the tutorial

All that talk about procedures makes you sound like a navy missile tech?
Good video but this was more of a "how to" than a review.
