If Attila had the same post-launch support as Rome 2 it would currently be one of the most successful titles, in my opinion.
This is why CA should never give up on a title.

Question is for Melkor AND Terminator. I have about 1,700+ hours into this title, and I can say it is fantastic. The mods are great and if your PC is decent, it runs just fine and looks amazing. 1212AD is by far one of the best achievements of the Total War moding community. Props to all involved. Do you think it is beyond CA to support this game now, all these years later? Or do you think that is a possibility for them to update and revisit?

my slavs campaign started with full fledged war on turn 5 or 6 with islamic conglomerate of vassals on the east, while the west suffered from hunns-- turn 15- message about erased western rome, turn 40- Bysantia fall, turn 75- scandinavians becomes eastern roman vassals, turn 90 hunns nevertheless slayed vikings... the europe fell theres nothing(!) between me and Ireland. turn 100- hunnic invasion. I ve got like 15 regions from eastern europe all the way to the Caspian sea. turn 115- I have 3 regions near Caspian see called great schytia everything other is scorched, what actually stopped the hunns more then military defeats....So now Caspian region is a "neighbour" for Ireland, since everything else was destroyed. afterwards I reached like 70 regions claiming all islamic territories and retrieving my destroyed regions but the game thinks I still can't win because I grew to big and haven't conquered west... While there's only desert there... So the campaign goals also succs.

But...the other day I saw it on a website for like $5 so I figured I may as well TRY getting it working, and wow, I'm very disappointed with myself for returning it so quickly the first time. They must have released a patch or two since I first bought it because it runs SO much better than I remember. It still doesn't constantly stay at 60fps, but after turning some settings down it pretty much does while I'm in battles and works fine while I'm in the overworld map. I'd highly recommend people giving it another chance when it's on sale. I was up until 2am fighting three or four full armies of Huns at the same time with my rinky-dink army and WON! Best feeling ever!

A similar setting in the future can be the Bronze Age collapse, maybe call it Total War: Apocalypse. The great empires had fallen and international trade was lost. Egypt was divided but surviving. Assyria and Babylon settled to protect their borders. The Hittites fractured into small states. The Sea Peoples rampages throughout the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, the Dorians pushed into Greece, and small tribal societies like Israel and Edom challenged the settled princes of Canaan for a home. It could recreate what Attila was while adding some new elements like perhaps grazing land if you're a nomadic faction, raids and skirmishes, rediscovery of lost knowledge, etc. This setting can be a spiritual successor to Troy as well.

Rome 2 did come out with game breaking issues-glitches, bugs etc.
Then Attila came and gave us what we missed in Rome 2-for example a family tree
Even now, 6:00 rome 2 is a civil war simulator-the families even revolt when they have no influence, only one city:D
8:20 actually I think that ancient Empires is the better Rome 2-because for example some cities are looking really great like Carthage, Rome or Sidon.

Some people think that Attila should have been an expansion for Rome 2 and a lot of their arguments are very solid, but the reason why i think this game not being an expansion was a good idea and why i lament the lack of support is the fact that it tackles a time period we may never see again in TW, not even on a potential Med 3.
