I know this comment was posted a year ago but this worked so well with my Staedtler permanent pen!!!! I got a set of them for my birthday and the purple pen was already drying out and doing what you did revived it !!!!!! :D
Super helpful ! thank you so much. However I was wondering how long it lasts once you do this trick is back to normal or is it every couple days couple weeks?
I had a bunch of water based markers that dried out. So I put some alcohol in small spray bottles and cut the inside of the marker and put it in a small bottle, I made my own alcohol sprays. I just did not want to throw them away. But I still have some I will try this out.
My understanding is that the issue with gel pens is not actually drying out. Instead there's a small mechanism inside the pen that can become broken if you drop the pen (like even into a pen cup). Then, the ink no longer flows.
I’ve revived Sharpies by standing them nib-down in a small cup of alcohol. No nib removal required!

I was swatching out my alcohol markers. I have 12 that are dried out. I’m going to take them out of my bin and give this a try. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing! This is super useful for my markers that have been just sitting in a drawer for so long 😅
Glad it was helpful!

Very helpful information if you know there is product left inside, and I hate waste and adding to the landfill unnecessarily.
Thanks for the great information! I’m definitely going to try this!
Hi. Thank you for sharing these great ideas and tips. Brilliant!
Thank you, so many unhappy marker pens have a new life now, I couldn't recycle them, too many cool colours!!
I need to know what works best with panduro color markers
Would it work for the dry ShinHan Touch Twin Marker?
How many times can you add alcohol without the colored ink running out?❤❤
I do the same with my Distress markers, but I use the Distress ink reviver!! ❤️
I love it so much ❤️
What about acrylic markers? Thanks.
Thank you. Will try
Dry erase markers?
Will this work for fabric markers??
I don't know. If it's already dry, what's the harm in trying?
You're very beautiful and well spoken. Also thank you for the tip!
Any tips for gel pens?
Yes, I would also like to know about gel pens! Just had to throw one out😒 Thanks Julie for All You Share in the World💐
I used a lighter on the tip. Like new again.
@@judymcintire7095 This did not work for me. Anyone else try this?
@Nadia Dragonfly Can you use isopropyl alcohol to revive dry erase markers?

If your Sharpie is dried out anyway, what's the harming in trying and finding out?
