Giving this to my boyfriend for our six month anniversary today...hope he'll like it! Also, I used photos on regular photo print and glue obviously and while it didn't flip as easily, it still worked. It wasn't exactly a disaster as she described it, but it could've gone better. Great video though!
Tamar Smith use four 2x2 photos & four 4x2 photos. you can just upload your photos on a google doc & click on the photo and click “image options” then click “size and rotation” and in the size type the dimensions. that way you can print them through your printer on paper
Hahaha "DO NOT CUT THE TAPE". Seriously though thank you for the great explanation on how to do this right. I'm making one for my 6 year old daughter with pictures of her with her mom and I. I'm sure she's gonna love it!
Thanks so much for the extremely well done lesson! Such clear step by step instructions, and very helpful tips for where it is easy to go wrong. Thank you.
Lady, thank you very much. I wanted to such a thingy as a gift for my girlfriend and every video i watched was so confusing and everything. Im so glad i found your video.
OMG thank you so much. I was following the other video, but yours is so much better. I love how you walk us through each part and show us the different cuts we have to make. Very clear and easy-to-follow!
Thank you so much for this video. I do a lot of pop-up cards and this is something different. I can't wait to make some of these. Your video was great. Not too much information but what you need and understandable.
So - in metric, the photos are 7cm x 7cm (4 off) and 14cm x 7cm (4 off). I inserted my images into MS Word then I used the 'crop' feature (Picture Format Toolbar) with the above measurements, then I placed the crop box to suit the images. After placing them all on 2 pages, I converted the Word doc to a PDF (for easier printing with no crazy formatting) then I printed them on A4 page labels (ie the whole A4 page is one big label), but T really think normal 80gsm paper would be suffice (as Julie says in the vid). I still used PVA glue to stick them down (especially the corners), but I found if you make the images slightly less like 6.98cm and 13.98cm the corners don't pull up after each turn. It pays to let the glue dry on each photo first, and applying pressure (esp on the corners), before cutting too.
Great tutorial and recommendations! I don't have that adhesive machine. I wonder if there are labels that can be used. I'll have to look through the comments. Thanks!
How freaking easy! I went and got the cube and was so excited that I wanted to get the hinges done. It took me about 10 mins..and that’s only cause I didn’t follow directions in the beginning 😂😂 now I’m going to bed. Will put the pictures on tomorrow. Great tutorial!!
Thank you so much, Julie! I was looking for one more project for my middle school students for their PhotoShop Unit! Yay! I totally think they can handle it. What a great way to display multiple images. Cheers!
OMG Julie...WOW How Super Funtabulous is your Flipping Photo Cube!! Love your Photo One You and Steve are so cute!! Thanks for the Outstanding Tutorial and sharing your Tremendously Terrific Tips, Tricks & Techniques...this cube is totally cool! It definitely is intriguing and love all of your ever so Clever & Creative ideas!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
thats so funny that you made this because of five minute crafts because I got here due to them aswell. I made an origami version of these when I was like 9 and I am excited that I am inspired to make a flipping cube for my boyfriend for either christmas or our one year coming up in February. :)
Yeah I’m making this gift for my friends and I watched the 5 minute craft video and I actually failed and ended up crying. Then my sister send me your video and it literally hyped so much thank you so much!
Soooo cool Julie!!! Tfs and taking the time to simplify the process! HUGE THANKS FOR THAT 🙌😄I like the pictures and the patterns. Both are really cool.
Glad to see this tutorial. I have a card that folds like this but flat. I hadn’t thought of photo( I have brain dead symptom that can blank out creative activities at times) but the photo would be cute with it too, thanks.
OMG!! ..After trawling for "Decent" How To Video's, I came across yours ... Thank you Thank you Thank you. Your video is by far the best video on TH-cam, [As Far As I'm Concerned, Anyway] .. I can't Thank you enough for just how easy you made it look, I really can see myself attempting this now. I really had no clue a few minutes ago & I was just about to give up. This was the last one that I was going to watch, as it turns out, it's the only one I should have watched in the first place, I dont need to start looking any where else, coz it's HERE!! ... YYYIIIPPPPEEEEEEEE!!!
This is so nice. I'd love to try it out. Can we use kores white glue to stick the paper on wood? I tried looking for tacky & sili glue around but didn't get. Which else do u recommend? Plz help me out
Super cool!!! Can’t wait to make a project with this awesome idea. Thanks. Your channel always has inspiring cool ideas to spark the creativity within.
I am currently tearing my hair out hahah...love this, your tutorial is great Julie (apart from missing out one step...but it’s obvious once we get in to the making it.x) but for me it’s getting the photographs the right size lol...I’m back and forth from word and pictures trying to size them...but I WILL GET THERE lol...thank you so much.x
Well done! Thank you. This is the first one I fully understand. Have you ever sealed each individual edge/surface with something like ModPodge to keep the edges from coming up with use?
Omg you’re angel! I was so confused on how to make it because I thought everyone was cutting through the tape!
This explains how to do the “5 minute” video beautifully. You’ve got me hooked. Thanks very, very much.
Thank you for being so thorough in your directions! I had trouble too and then stumbled onto your vid. 🙌🏻❤️
I've been seeing these for years and always wanted a good tutorial. This one is amazing and I'm totally making this for mother's day

I guess you could use gel medium to seal the photos and to add durability.
Ok

Would you suggest using decoupage over the pictures to prevent wear and tear on the photos over time?
Yeah I’m making this gift for my friends and I watched the 5 minute craft video and I actually failed and ended up crying. Then my sister send me your video and it literally hyped so much thank you so much!

I used white glue & it seemed to worked. But with time the paper is coming off. Can we use mod podge to seal the pictures?

What is the step you think is missing?
Balzer Designs Maybe how to get the pictures the right size?
Well done! Thank you. This is the first one I fully understand. Have you ever sealed each individual edge/surface with something like ModPodge to keep the edges from coming up with use?
I don't use Mod Podge. If you want to use a sealer try Matte Medium: amzn.to/2B44guc
Balzer Designs I was going to ask the same thing. Is there a reason you don’t use ModPodge? Or is it just preference?
super helpful and cute
very clear instructions. I got it right the very first time, unless you count all the rewinds before I let it end ;-)
thank you so much!! im gonna make this for my best friend that i like and yea im sure she will like it :D
Julie... Love the photo cube❤️!!!
I love this Julie. So super cool. Just gotta find some blocks now :)❤️👍

Julie!!! Love this!!’ Happy Valentine’s Day!!!❤️❤️❤️. Love your “Fidget Spinner”!!!!!!!!!
i subscribed right away because after watching a lot of videos, yours is the clear one. Good job :)
Thanks!
You to
Question: can you glue pictures to it then use modge podge over it or would that ruin it. Also would you cut before or after the modge podge
ctondola80 i think it could work if you did modge podge then did the cuts
facebook.com/DonaldTrump/videos/379018816633762/UzpfSTEzNzk2MDA3ODM6MTAyMjQyOTM0NTIwMjg4MzA/
Love it
So freaking cool
Omg sooo awesome!
if i were to print photos what size should i print? thanks for your time
It depends on the size of the wooden cubes. If you have cubes of 1 inch your square pictures should be 4x4 inch.
If you use 1in it would be 4×2 for landscape 2×2 for square
Can you use modge podge?
I don't ever use mod podge.
How do you make 2x2 photos that are rectangular and 2x2 square ones?
I don’t think a place like cvs does photos that small
This was SO much easier to follow than the Pinterest one 👏🏼
Thank you so much! This was so helpful!
I had my tape wrong....THANK YOU🎉🎉🎉❤
Glad you found the video useful!
How to you measure the thing to the exact perfect size if you are printing it from the computer
I use Google Docs. If you go to Insert and then Drawing, you can add a guide on the ruler and size the picture to those guides.
