As a kid, I knew something was different about Aunt Viv once I first got to season 4, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what. When I found out it was a different actress, suddenly it all made sense, and that "something different about you" libe became hilarious.
Jazz got the best lines on episode 1 of two different seasons. The one where he makes the statement the Vivian Banks looks different since she had the baby and the next season when he ask if we are still using the same mother this season and a 5-year-old Nicky appears saying, "We sure are." The Jazz says, "Who is that?" Will says, "That's baby Nicky" then uses his hand to indicate Nicky grew up fast and looked into the camera with an I know look on his face. I miss shows like this.
I love that scene and when he says, "I am going back to the streets where things make sense." I loved how Fresh Prince and Roseanne broke the fourth walls to acknowledge cast changes.
Replacing Harriet on Family Matters was a mistake. It was only for part of the last season. They should have just written her off. And of course, the Darren switcharoo on Bewitched.
Anybody remember when Jazz Raycole played the ORIGINAL Claire Kyle in the first season of the ABC series, My Wife And Kids, then she was replaced by Jennifer Freeman in Season 2?
i didn't mind it much Jennifer Freeman is smoking hot and i'm glad they made her the new Claire i mean i loved Jazz Raycole in the Role, but Jennifer freeman brought so much energy to the character.
and not only that they also Recasted jr's girlfriend played by Megan good in her first few appearances then played by Brooklyn Sudano for the rest of the show

Yeah. Lecy wanted to go to college and Roseanne 100% supported and was proud of her which is why they were willing to write her character off and later have her and Sarah Chalke alternate the role.
I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard that Jo Marie Payton had quit because she resented that the show focused more and more on Steve Urkel as the series went on. Dick York, the original Darren, had hurt his back and wasn't able to play the role. That was why Dick Sergeant replced him.
Aunt Viv's change was a massive mistake. Janet brought a powerful, no nonsense presence that was a great contrast to the antics the rest of the cast got caught up in. Daphne was just kind of...There. She had no presence and turned the role into just "The mom"
The series I have often wondered about is Bewitched. How did they think they would pull that off? The two actors didn't even look alike. Thanks for clarifying the Lionel fiasco on the Jeffersons too. Yikes 😳

I never noticed that there were two different Beckys during Roseanne’s run. I didn’t find her all that interesting as a character, she was kinda just there, so maybe that’s the reason I didn’t pay attention.

I also love all the times they acknowledge it (there's a scene where the second actress is watching Bewitched with them and talk about the two Darrens and she comments that she likes the second one better. DJ says Becky looks different. When the original one returns everyone asks her, "Where have you been?" and the Halloween episode that year has the second actress playing a mom who brings her kids trick or treating and comments how nice they are and Dan asking, "Why couldn't we have a daughter like that?" The best was when Sarah Chalke was playing Becky in the Disney episode and her character says, "I always wanted to go" and Roseanne says, "Aren't you glad you are here this week?")
It was a long time ago so most people won’t know about it. On the tv show Bewitched The part of Darrin was changed from Dick York to Dick Sargent. I always thought they sort of looked alike.
Um i actually didn’t know what happened to the original actress who played Vivian on The Fresh Prince Of Be - Air to be honest, when i was watching the show a while ago i was oh they changed the actress of Vivian but i didn’t know the reason why, i knew the whole situation of Ruby Rose and how she didn’t want to be Kate Kane anymore because she hurt on set a couple of times and she said also that on set there was a scene where she had a allergic reaction in the suit or something i am not sure if that’s was true, that’s what i heard from an interview of her on the Jimmy Fallon show.
At Family Meters Harryet was the sadest i new. At her first new episode she eas mean and caused only trouble but the OG was all good and all kindly it broke our Hearts
Um, why doesn't this video specifically bring up actress Brenda Dickson and her Jill Foster Abbott character on "The Young and the Restless"? Jess Walton plays Jill now.
Maybe they can do a list of just Soap Opera recasting? If so they should acknowledge recasting of Todd Manning on OLTL and how they had to write a rather absurd story line to bring the original actor Roger Howarth back for the part.
I don't know if it reaches level of "scandal," however, in The Simpsons every non-Caucasian voiced by a white person was replaced by a voice actor with genetics closer to the character. I don't know if they've recast Apu yet, since he hasn't had a line in like 5 seasons.
@@melissacooper8724 Shannon Doherty reportedly had a beef with co-star Alyssa Milano, which eventually led to her firing. I heard that they have reconciled since. That seems to be common with the actress as she had a beef with 90210 co-star Tori Spelling as well.
