It’s underappreciated how Beck was narrating a commercial he was in.
I dated a dancer, with wealthy dad, she had mostly dudes as friends, she had lived in France for a while... That sketch really hits home, it is too accurate. And yes, she was a massive red flag and i ended up moving with her in couple of months after going steady..

It was bugging me as well, but then I realised since they were specifically talking about fashion, they may be using it as a "My body" and "My clothes" one to one comparison. As in "My outfit". This is my canvas, and this is my paint. But I'm probably just overthinking it, and trying to rationalise such an obvious error.

I was a fat kid in the 60's, which was bad enough as it made me a bully-magnet. What made it worse is that my clothes came from a separate department called "CHUBBIES". Really. In big fat letters over my head, as I was supposed to choose between truly horrible styles that look good on no one, as store clerks made rude remarks. I was shamed into a lifetime of anorexia and bulimia so I wouldn't be a "chonk". Fat boys got a much nicer label for their clothes, they're "husky". Makes it sound manly.

its better to be fat shamed, because then you are socially allowed to have an HONEST opinion of yourself, and you might actually seek to get healthy for positive reasons with positive reinforcement. Hiding behind social acceptability just ends up making people more repressed, and subsequently DEpressed.
