yep i really do not understand why people keep buying these vertical turbines , in order for them to work at all they would need a magnet ring the size of a bike wheel due to their low RPM ,i do not even believe a size like this would work with a gearing , and that pma looks like a industrial ceiling fanhousing,, i know of a factory outlet in china that sells decent turbines ,1000watt for about 300 dollars 2,3 meter diameter swept area it would be cool if you tested one of their turbines

cheap?? i think they are rather expensive and i have seen plenty of test where it is negible what they produce also..
,the main problem is all the dishonest sellers from china that operate on ebay/aliexpress/ e.c.t
when you find the poducer of these turbines (only on alibaba) you will se watt ratings that are withinn the realm of possibillity like small turbines 12v 100-250w (one have to be carefull there also as other companys will buy the housings blades and set turbines up with very thin wire and tiny magnets,, and they will only produce 30watt )
but there is good turbines to be has for a decent prize, but if you want to have power you got to have size (unless its only to kaap batteries charged not producing for use), i would say no smaller than a swept area of 2,2 diameters and the pma will be heavy over 10kg usually about 20kg ,these turbines is also sold on the other sites for 5x or even 10x the amount the turbine cost from the producer a 1000w 24V turbine will cost about 300 bucks not including shipping or chargecontroller,
there is another brand from turkey also istabreeze , they have a very good pma but there is a limitation on the blades for example a 1500w 24V model 2,3 diameter 1600watt max power they will produce about 600-1000w mainly due to blade limitations ,and they are known for water intrution in the housing (easy to fix )but it is still a market where you got to do a good amount of research or get burned ,it is not like solat arrays unfortunately where it is very predictable the amount of power to be had,,,

It makes me so angry that those chinese companies keep selling that rubbish! Generators are not low rpm (that's why they are so cheap) and power claims break all physics laws starting with betz law. Vertical axis wind turbines do work but people are prone to think they don't because of all these scam factories. I can name at least three companies that do work : Greef (China), Ecorote (Poland) and Suneo (Colombia). Also it is very important that output voltage matches generator/inverter input voltage in order to get advantage of the full power range curve. I'm sorry to say that but You are going to lose your time installing it, it won't make a single watt unless you´re under a tornado and it will probably break down if that happens. Readers be aware of scams like this one, lantern type, tesup VAWTs and any other offering more than 300W out of a turbine with a swept area below 1 square meter.

I agree. They give VAWTs a bad reputation.
I think this is how they justify the 400 Watt rating: Wind turbine area: 0.6m x 0.8m = 0.48 m^2, rated wind speed: 18 m/s
      Power available in wind passing through that area at that speed: P = (1/2) * (1.2 kg/m^3) * (0.48 m^2) * (18 m/s)^3 = 1680 Watts
      Turbine coefficient of performance approximately 25%: Turbine power = 0.25 * 1680 Watts = 420 Watts.
Maybe the turbine could produce shaft power of around 400 Watts in that horrendously strong wind (18 m/s = 40 mph), but the generator is incapable of converting that to electricity.
      By the way, the turbine would probably have a tip speed ratio of around 2, so it would be spinning at: w = 2 * (18 m/s) / (0.3 m) = 120 rad / s or 1146 rpm.
Reputable manufacturers would rate their turbines based on electrical output at 10 or 11 m/s wind speed. At 11 m/s, this turbine would turn around 700 rpm. Based on the test in the video, the generator would produce a little over 3 Watts at that speed. It is hard to market a 3 Watt wind turbine at that price point. Some might like it as a lawn ornament though.
      Specs based on this: www.ebay.com/itm/125672504180?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1A8IH97nlSXq6v7QtaarOUQ79&norover=1&mkrid=711-213727-13078-0&itemid=125672504180&targetid=4580702894586633&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=418640321&mkgroupid=1233652283797640&rlsatarget=pla-4580702894586633&abcId=9300602&merchantid=51291

Rating a vawt at 18 m/s is dishonest to say the least. There are a few on shore places on earth where there are such speeds more than once a month. The vawt design ain't bad at all, but the generator is a scam from the very beginning. It's simply not designed to be usable at below tornado speeds.

Try a motor from a air heat-pump. Your will get dc power both ways and also good voltage and amps.

      @windturbine  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Because three-phase AC is converted by the regulator into DC, the power test was carried out by charging a battery using the supplied regulator.

@@windturbine I understand that. It was just an advice to try since they are high quality motors. Better than what you get with wind turbines. Because of their design they also spin with rain.

    Spec plate: 18 m/s wind speed !!!
    If about 800mm dia at 18 m/s and TSR = 1 that's about 400 RPM.
At triple tested RPM it MAY do better.
Which would be TSR of about 1200-1500 RPM.
    AND 18 m/s !!! :-(
