Thats amazing. Find another artist as popular as him who will perform for such a small crowed on a patio like that.. you won't. That's what i love about him.
hahaha high 5 on that! Small crowds would be fun and personal, like performing at a family Christmas or something, ya just happen to be a hotshot famous artist.
+Tomas Burkhart Wow, so cool :) I joined a SP show in Munich Riem Airport 21 years ago (1994) I remember Billy saying it's so fucking hot here. Send him greets from me :)
THIS SONG"DISARM" HAS AN IN DEPTH OF MY LIFE...LITERALLY!!! Imagine being lucky enough to just walk past.... one in a billion, literally. Thanks for uploading! I used to think the line went "There's tequila in me, there's tequila in you"
I saw the pumpkins on lollapalooza in 94 and loved hearing Gish and Siamese Dream! Both records are pure HEAVEN! Billy, James, Darcy, and Jimmy doesn’t get better than that! I’m not gonna lie: I REALLY MISS DARCY BEING IN THIS BAND 💔
This is amazing. Also for those of us that like to do covers it's fantastic to see how someone as Talented as this would play something solo acoustic. Such a rare thing to see. If there is any more please please post
Come on Sam, that's a funny comment! Of course the lyrics aren't that but hey, different strokes for different folks and I'm a Stoakes! See the rhyme word play I did there? ;) Btw, I have had a frew drinks tonight and I do love this vid, it's like what I would want at my 38th b-day party if make a wish foundation made wishes for middle aged guys who may or may not be on their last leg.
Have you ever been to Lake Bluff/Lake Forest? Back in my USN days I used to walk that trail that runs along that road. I recently used instantstreetview to retrace that. But also I got to see Billy's Madam ZuZu's and then retrace highland park back to the lake forest trail.
if you don't believe me that's okay, but I met Billy in1993 and told him that it would be cool if he put concert bells in a song and he did it just that with the song disarm...... my idea!
This is depressing to watch. He went from singing this song in a practice room/studio, to some of the largest crowds there could ever be, and now to this back yard. Where do you think his mind is right now? The studio? The stadiums? This yard?
naw, at first the wgn crew said no pictures or video, but when I realized I wasn't getting good footage trying to video it 'secretly' I decided to go for it.
I wonder what the line "I used to be a little boy" felt like to say in that moment, 20 or so years after this song came out, when he was a young and beautiful man, heading a chart topping band loved worldwide, selling out shows, reduced to playing in some guys yard, alone. He may have gotten old, fat and bald, but his voice and words still ring true to this day

Nick Hayes if you've got the money, it happens alot actually
Mumford and Sons
This is wonderfully candid and raw. It's almost an honor to see it.
really nice,,just him and his guitar
I got to shake his hand, ask him questions, even got a pic with him! There were only about 25 people there, so it was super intimate.
Tomas Burkhart what a privilege :)

How super Lucky one you are.
Dude, Billy's like forty years old and great by his self, how the balls did this video get a thumbs down?! .\ /.

he's going to turn FIFTY this year, can you believe it?
The Basement Fifty, well...guess I was a bit off, huh? Either way, it's great seeing him out there still.
Just a genius and his guitar. Doesn't get any better.
I'm 35 and grew up listening to Billy & the rest of the Pumpkins. I'm glad he's still around.
first song I ever learnt to play, love Billy, an amazing gifted man. If I could meet any musician it would be him.
Couldn't believe my Dad actually hired Billy to play at my Birthday. T'was amazing.
he always manages to touch you live. what a performer!
Damn, he still sounds pretty good. Better than most of these modern singers who rely heavily on autotune. I would have loved to be there.

it's about a bad childhood I love this song

I don't really enjoy recording at concerts or at times like these but billy is an exception I'd start recording the moment he strum
And he sounds exactly the same, unlike these over manipulated, auto tuned lousy excuses for talent that are making so much money out there today.
so right
Back in the day, they would do it over and over in the studio until it was perfect. Now we press magic buttons.
What a treat! I still love garlic bread!

A real artist.....
why is he playing in someones back yard?
I was wondering the exact same thing
He was playing a small private show in Ravinia (an outdoor venue) in Highland park Illinois. See the explanation under the video for further details.

He’s also available for birthday parties
if you don't believe me that's okay, but I met Billy in1993 and told him that it would be cool if he put concert bells in a song and he did it just that with the song disarm...... my idea!
That's awesome
Charlie Brown is a good guy

You deserve your name in the credits then.
The people who know know what it feels like to be that little boy
I would have given anything for a small show like that

Whoever got him there Must have paid a boatload . The pumpkins are still selling arenas
panic at the disco
hope a neighbor didn't tell you guys to turn off that racket :-p
Holy shit you're lucky
Does he setup own equipment and then load it all by himself in his van? Can he play on my bday for $200?
Fuck.. that's all I can say
Is the camera man having a fucking aneurysm? Get it together!
naw, at first the wgn crew said no pictures or video, but when I realized I wasn't getting good footage trying to video it 'secretly' I decided to go for it.
+Tomas Burkhart Good enough! Thank you for the footage.
+Greg Meola no problem! glad you enjoyed most of it! lol!

I wouldn't say he's been reduced to it. Pumpkins just sold out Madison Square garden last night lol
Chris Kringle l
Exactly
He wasn't reduced at all lol he sells out to huge audiences to this day. He's humble.
