Nice older glide, get a 24. I did whiskey fire, chrome. No regrets. Power, suspension, feels like you cant go into a corner too hot. You do have to keep it on a tender. I hate tech, but am embracing this bike. I have a 2000 tahoe z71, and 2007 honda pilot. Pre screen, bt. I plan to upgrade my phone to an iphone, for apple carplay on the rg. $9.99/month, ni commercials for music. I havent gone to sport, or custom mode yet.
I'm with ya on the tech, just not a fan of it but it for sure ain't going to go away so I better just embrace it, right? Congrats on your 2024! We do a lot of Whiskey Fire parts and that is a great color!
Awesome bike man. Dude id build that motor, the crank is a 4-3/8 stroker crank with probably 1 or 2 ru out, make it a 117 torque monster with a dnd or bassani 2 into 1 and get some sick ass hot rod flames painted on the black base.....that would be incredible.....and no one will have that, everyone's buying a 24
@thefactorymatch thanks for responding back man. Shit even better you could get a crate motor, sns 124....those are incredible motors. Either way youd have an amazing road glide that no one else has....everyone's buying 24 road glide it seems...shit I see fools at my dealerships trading in 21 and 22 bikes for 24s......thats just stupid in my dumb ass opinion. I'm all for doing the custom build man....
@@thefactorymatch only Americans are obsessed with power, more power and even more power… me, honestly! I’d have money in the bank, no worries, no expectations and 100% adventure. I really think with $30,000+ scooters now we are forgetting what is the real spirit of motorcycling. Freedom! @@christinejorja😂 I honestly can’t argue that. My wife and I went to Italy a few years back and that was definitely a different perspective on life and how we Americans live, good and/or bad. I do like that idea though - True Freedom!
I wish I could have my cake and eat it too! 😂 I rode the 2006 out to Sturgis and it was fantastic other than it needs a new seat. I’m sure a 2024 on a ride like that would be even better though
I love the new bikes, want one real bad. However I also have a soft spot for built up skinny tire bikes. I say keep it, paint it up, use it for content, and then maybe go to the 3rd gen in a few years when you can get a huge depreciation discount on marketplace. 😂
Buy a new bike and then spend thousands to make it sound good and free up the exhaust/intake. Not to mention bar swapping if your tall. Its a ridiculus trap they put us in. I have a 06 and i have less than 10K in it being loud and setup exactly how i want. Ill ride low mile old rigs until there arent any left.
Sell it yourself then up grade if that’s what you really want I wouldn’t up grade until 2028 because Harley has too many issues with business and the new bikes in my opinion. I may go to a GW right now I have a 2022 RG Limited can’t here the music going 90 down the highway same issues as always wants you to upgrade.
I'm in the same boat with my 2011 RG.My friends all run new ones and mine does everything theirs does...EVERYTHING...
Have they had any issues with their new ones?
@thefactorymatch some radio issues I do know of and maby putting them into travel mode when hauling on a trailer but that's about all iv heard of.

Yesterday I picked up my new 2024 Heritage Classic, vivid black with black trim and love it. I do not like chrome at all.
VB with chrome on a heritage is super clean and classy!
I’m a huge fan of the 24’s as you know! Also huge fan of Klockwerks! I say upgrade personally!!
I like where your head is at! KW is great too!

I realllllly like that idea and flames have been on my mind for a very long time! But flames on a 2024 would be killer too!

Easy choice, keep the 2006 and spend money on long trip! Too much electronics in the new bikes.
I do fully agree with the electronics. Wayyyyy too much of that garbage, more possibilities of issues. But they ride soooo nice and the power is wild

Hogworkz makes nice lower vented fairings for that bike....If your interested in those...I did it on my 2011 and love it
I own thefactorymatch.com. We’re the American version of Hogworkz
If you go for the 24,sell your bike privately. They won't give you squat for your '06.
I full agree with that. My local dealer was doing full retail trade or .99% on new 2024 bikes

Bogus.👎
Older RG is awesome. She’s a keeper for ripping local rides. However, 24’s must have for those longer hauls. Life’s too short so get a new one too 😂

Unfortunately there isn’t a big portion of my business that is geared towards Skinny Tire Baggers anymore. But I do like your idea!!
My take is keep the old one the new ones have to much shit on them that’s expensive to fix
That is honestly my biggest "fear." My biggest con for the 2024's are the infotainment gauges. It's just so big and ugly.
Keep old one!!!
Go new you be happy
I think you're 100% correct on that! Hard to not be happy with a new one.
Clean bike. I'd take the '06 (and no payment) all day, every day. If money is no factor, throw a 134 in that bad boy and be happy.

It is was easy to get caught up in that trap for sure! My 2006 has 24k miles and runs great!
not even watching this, put more $ into the old one
