  • My wife and I had a chance to stop at Sundling Park just south of Manistee, MI earlier this year and almost as soon as we stepped on the beach it became our favorite Lake Michigan beach. We've been aching to get back, and now that I've tumbled the stones from that day, I'm really eager to go back. I think you'll see why!

I was having fun until the cold set in. Adjusting to freezing temps in the unheated shed hasn't been much fun.

@@kengensjewelry I live in the mountains of Colorado, and I am no stranger to cold weather. I used to be an Elk hunter and some mornings it was -20. We are almost always below 0 here at night in the winter, very common.

I figured it got cold for you, definitely colder than west Michigan where the lake insulates us a bit. It's just odd getting used to trying to tumble in temps below freezing.

You know, I've been thinking about that sometimes as I go rockhounding. I have to find spots that are good rockhounding for those that rock some wheels.

Nice tumbled stones! Granakite lol just love this. I make up own words too lol. Sorry to hear market changing rules and hope you and your peers find other locations and ways to sell. Online is good I've been told, but a process...shipping etc. I haven't endeavored down that path...still more a playful hobbyist. See you soon. Take care

Even trying to set up the online thing has been a chore, but the revenue will come in somehow.

Yes I am watching and I like that "granikite " name for the ones that may be granite with epidote or they are unakite, lol It all started when someone corrected me on my unakite. We are only human :) Anyways this batch of your looks amazing. I love the unakite 😉

I've been selling at physical craft shows during last summer. I'm in the (slow) process of transitioning online. I'll be sure to post about it in an upcoming Friday's Rock.
