Don't just go photograph weddings if you haven't had extensive experience in paid photography jobs. You will just ruin someone's wedding if you don't know how to do everything. Get at least 2 years of experience in photography with paid jobs in the 2nd year to even try and do a wedding.
Living Well With TJ One wedding I went to they had disposable cams on the tables so guests could shoot everything. What came back was a sad pile of trash, such a waste. No sub for a person who has a tripod and knows what they're doing
Pro tip: if you want to be a freelance photographer, don't hop into wedding photography immediately. These are very important occasions for the couple, and if it's messed up they will forever remember it. It requires a lot of skill, preparation, experience, etc. to do weddings. Start with smaller stuff, like the company head shots he mentioned earlier.
Yeh I agree, my buddy has been doing photography for a while and eventually did a wedding. Omg it was a shit show. You have to understand the expectations of the people getting married are going to be EXTREMELY high, and basically if you can't meet them with the final end product(s), they will be very upset and most likely demand a refund.
Yeah, I have a friend who did photography. People wanted her to go insane distances, sometimes she was expected to fly to other states, they'd pay for her services then AFTER all was said and done the person decided they wanted 20 pounds photoshopped off. Can't have ONE photo that was photoshopped so they thought she was going to spend hours going in and photoshopping every single pic so they'd all match.
Oh and holiday pictures for kids. I know a girl who started her photography business doing that and gained alot of clients and now does huge $300 birthday sets and is always fully booked.

Matthew Morales you may be correct but the fact that these jobs are flexible and you Ultimately make what you work for make it better than most minimum wage jobs. For example it would take me 8+ hours to make $100 on a minimum wage job in Michigan where as I made 100 in half the time with DoorDash (depending on the day).

My favorite side gig was pressure washing, I bought a 3500hp pressure washer for $450 to work on my parents house, then i got the idea to offer driveway cleanings for 50 bucks and 100 dollars for decks and porches. the pressure washer paid for itself within a week and I probably made about 250-400 a month spending about 4-6 hours pressure washing. You just need to make sure people know you are not insured, I would stray away from potentially risky jobs (Like Siding or anything involving windows and delicate fixtures)

1.Selling firewood in winter , bagged up or bulk , or bagged kindling is a good side business. Often timberyards will have a scrap bin and will be happy for you to take wood offcuts. 2.Growing and selling plants is a good business, chillies especially the superhot varieties sell well, cacti and succulents too. Pots can be sourced free from landscape contractors. Many succulents and cacti grow readily from cuttings. Sell them on Facebook Marketplace. 3.Household chores/handyman type jobs, raking leaves, clearing gutters in Autumn, cleaning house windows , repairing flyscreens, gardening and weeding are simple chores many older people can't do. 4.Replacing tap washers/reseating tap washers , irrigation system repairs/replacing sprinklers isn't difficult. 5.mulching gardens/weeding gardens/mowing lawns. 6.Washing and polishing cars. 7.Picking up and delivering items if you have a car or van, rubbish removal. Once you have some money save it, use it to invest in things you can later sell for a profit such as buying small plants and growing them for a season then selling them larger, buying things cheap at garage sales then sell them on Facebook marketplace.

Great ideas Nate! One more I would through into the list is offering SAT/ACT Prep through Craigslist. I had a lot of success with that in the past and made solid money $20-30+/hr tutoring just the math sections of each of these tests. They are offered almost year round so they are always in demand and people are willing to pay a premium for SAT prep vs just regular tutoring.
Actually that's very cheap for ACT/SAT prep. Tutoring companies make $50 or $60 an hour for that. I price myself at what the companies charge, but then I have a teaching degree.
So in my experience... I've been active duty army for the last decade, looking for ways to bring in extra cash on the side. I've tried my hand at delivering Chinese food, working for a moving company, modeling, recruiting for the modeling agency, roof salesman, buying and selling off of Letgo, you name it. Basically, thanks for the new ideas to try lol I hold and maintain about 4 jobs at a time so I'm always looking to trade up.

I love pets , especially doggies and I have minded friends' dogs when they go on vacation and this idea of minding pets for people is a really good side job. I have a friend who started a doggie day care, a brick and mortar facility , that blossomed into a six figure annual income that they sold for mega bucks last year. SO JEALOUS !!! not really, but this is a very good side job that pays well bc most people LOVE their pets and will do just about anything to care for them. Keep up the good work. This is a really story ! My daughter used this facility for their dog when they went on vacation and they minded their dog for 5 days and paid a nice chunk of change for them to mind the dog. Thanks

Am a Notary. It's not going to bring in much money alone but can definitely open a door if interested in working as a legal aid with unrelated experience, a bank teller or at a shipping store. Being available to coordinate with people on their schedule especially last min can cost you valuable time and you are limited how much you can charge. TBH the number of friends who request this counterbalances profit bc I often just do it as a favor. It is worth applying for sort of as a reference for other applications. A related location and/or related service optimizes opportunity. Keep in mind record keeping could save time and liability in case a lawsuit occurs over anything you notarize. There is not a requirement for a notary for absentee ballots this US election (should people have to pay to vote?) A related side hustle is hosting real estate closings ;)
wow! in Mexico you need to have a law degree and a certificate by the governor of your state to become a Public Notary, there's even a whole Notaries Act you have to follow and abide by.. ; and in the U.S. is just a side job 🤯... mind blown
Highly recommend dog walking. I'm from Colombia and I was visiting a cousin in Austin, dog walked the whole building for a month and made like 2500 dollars which is a lot in my country, and was just like an hour a day work.
There are a few of these apps and they are available in a number of cities. I met someone in New York who uses Wag! and loves it! You essentially get paid to play with dogs (and pick up poop, YUCK!)

Nate O'Brien I just finished watching that video and it was a very good video but a lot of the stuff I couldn't do. I've done fiverr before since ik how to do some picture editing but it's VERY hard to compete on Fiverr. I've also sold stuff on eBay and my ebay sales went high in such a short amount of time that ebay did one of those account checks so if ur account does really well, ebay asks for drivers licence, credit card statement and where you get the products so they can make sure ebay is safe and since I'm 15 they suspended my account. So now I'll try transcribing vids and doing some affiliate marketing and hopefully that goes well. This was a long comment sorry. Also please make that other video soon for how teens can make money

One side job that my sister used to do and I'm going to start with this year is to give someone private tuition. At my school sometimes teachers refer older students to younger ones that need a little extra help. You can easily charge 10$ - 15$ per hour. Another great side job that requires some time but can be very profitable in the long term is starting a TH-cam channel about your passion. 😆👍

As an ex professional wedding photographer I have to say, it is not so easy as you present it. It takes time to learn to photograph decently and time to learn to shoot a wedding, it is a responsability! It takes time to build your reputation as a reliable photographer. It is easier to learn to do simple portraits and, still, you need investment for a good camera, lightstands, lights, bouncers etc and build a website. Thanks for the other ideas though. Dog walk sounds nice. ;)
What about commission based services that you can do from home? In Staffing, I only work a couple hours a week and earn massive commissions when I find a successful candidate. More people need to know about this.
The economy is really in trouble when these sound like decent ways to make money. Flexibility is not worth sacrificing for decent pay and benefits. The notary thing would be kind of pointless unless you do something that requires notaries to sign things, for instance if you're in real estate. Your friends might come to you to transfer a car or something, but most of the time when you need one, there will be one associated with what you're doing.
Professional photography is a lot of work. It’s a common misconception since camera cameras and editing apps are so common and easy to use but professional photography involves a lot more. It involves expensive cameras, lighting screens, editing with raw/knowing how to properly edit and save photos, adjusting iso levels and exposure, etc. If this is something anyone wants to get into I recommend getting a technical certificate in photography through a local community college first. They’ll set you up with the basics and (usually) a good starting portfolio.
You should do a podcast. You have (from my perspective) an honest output rather than those clickbait TH-camrs that are so aggressive and bias about it. Keep up the good work.

Great ideas mate good to see u back , another side job is buying and reselling online on craigslist eBay Kijiji. I have made $100-$1000 a day doing that.
Learn how to diagnose and repair automobiles. Purchase the required tools. (Or if you're already employed as a mechanic/technician you have a head start) you can make 50 to 400 dollars per actual hour worked performing honest work. Not stealing, not doing shotty work, just fixing cars for people at a cheaper rate than dealerships. You will have to learn how book times work, and what is actually fair, but it can be lucrative at times on the side and you can make far far more than 100 a day if your clientele is there. Even if you are only doing routine maintenance such as oil changes, cabin filters, brake jobs, fluid exchanges (which are not just a gimmick and I will discuss that with anyone willing to attempt to argue), and yeah. Side work. It's for those people willing to get their hands dirty and accomplish a real world task that not many people are capable of doing or willing to learn anymore. But mind you. The technology inside a car these days is the most that has ever been. And diagnosing a car is more than kicking a tire, to do deep diagnosis, it takes years of training and hands on experience, expensive tools and countless hours removing and installing components to figure out the fastest and most accurate way to repair a vehicle. That being said. Most people can learn simple mechanics of the car, replacing brakes, fluids, easy to access components, interior work such as seat covers carpet, headliners dash work. It is a money maker if you are willing to work and you know what you're doing.
@Roland Pierce though a shop would be nice, it's not always necessary. I have repaired hundreds of vehicles right in my driveway, as long as you are organized and the weather isn't going crazy you would be surprised what you could do without a shop. I will agree on tools, however, the overhead for a decent hand tool set from a place like harbor freight is about 200 dollars, and with that being said, those tools will last you as long as you have them, a lot of tools have lifetime warranties, so you buy it once and it gets fixed forever! Cool deal I think. As for the learning curve. TH-cam is a great place to start and if you've ever had to replace a bulb or a filter or a set of brakes on your own car and hadn't had to do it before you probably watched TH-cam or Google or asked someone you know for advice on how to get the job done. That being said, safety is always number one priority and equipment for that will have to be bought, but, yardsales, auctions, goodwill, harbor freight, northern tools, Ebay, craigslist, tools and equipment can be bought cheap. And after you put a few sets of brakes on and do a few oil changes you can be pretty much guaranteed to have your tools paid for within the first 5 to 10 jobs, depending on how much you allow yourself for tools. With all that being said, I am a dealership technician with going on 10 years of experience here soon, and I own about 20,000 worth of tools and equipment, (not bragging, I'd rather own a new car, or have my insurance paid for lol) but the fact is I use my tools every single day and they have to be of the highest quality, so snap on, Matco, cornwell, mac, I even own a few craftsman tools. But the point I'm making here is you don't need these expensive tools, compare a harbor freight 3/8 drive rubber grip ratchet (12 dollars) to one like mine, a Matco 3/8 rubber grip ratchet (80 dollars on sale) there are differences in performance, but that harbor freight ratches will work for a long time and give you no issues while trying to work on the side. And of course getting your hands dirty isn't always what the kids want now days. I'm 27 and dont mind getting my hands dirty, and I believe that there are many out there who are the same way still. So that takes care of the high overhead, I would say If you want to do things like starters, alternators, belts, hoses, brakes, rotors, drums, radios, window regulators, switches, sensors, dash work, seat work (such as blend doors, air ducts, seat covers, wiring, cushions, etc), light bulbs, lenses, horns, all the little stuff that can be done easily (after you have done one or two), I'd say look at spending upwards of 3 to 5 hundred dollars in total maybe. You dont need it all at once, dont buy tools you dont need yet, and always make sure that you follow safety procedures, torque wheels properly, use Jack stands, etc. A friend of ours is a photographer, He owned little tools already, and using TH-cam alone he was able to put a timing chain on and set the timing on his vehicle. Now to an experienced technician that might seem like child's play, but this guy had zero experience mechanically, and was able to do that job in one day. Let it be noted that if for example that job booked out for 6 hours of labor, and you charge say anywhere from 20 to 50 an hour, that's a pretty good paycheck... for one day of work. 200 to 300 dollars would pretty well pay off those tools lol. So at the end of the day, it boils down to a few things 1. Are you willing to get your hands dirty and learn something new and/or expand on what you already know? 2. Are you willing to buy a few tools to repair and test vehicles? 3. Are you willing to make 3 hundred to 5 hundred dollars a day depending on workflow? I live in a rural area where most of my neighbors fix their own stuff lol so the only side work I can get is from friends of friends and people in the city, I dont advertise, I don't have business cards, it's all word of mouth and let me tell you, I stay busy. Someone who lives close to town, or in town has a big advantage, especially if you have a carport, garage, level or almost level driveway, etc. Your neighbors might not always know how to fix something and all you gotta do is offer to look at it, watch a video on it, etc. You might save them hundreds while making yourself hundreds. My shop charges 138 dollars per hour. That's our labor rate. I charge 50 dollars per hour at home, I undercut all the shops around, and save people hundreds. If you're just starting off and arent so sure of your skills you could charge less, or make up a menu, my menu for brakes is cars I charge 50 to put brakes and rotors on, minus parts. Trucks I charge 60, and big trucks I do 100. Most everything Is book time, not actual time, so you can't work on a starter for 10 hours and charge them 500 bucks, it dont work that way, if the starter books for 1.1 then I charge 55 dollars. For example. Anyways not to write a book I just wanted to clear those things up, is it nice to have a shop, yes, do nice expensive tools make life a little easier at times, yes, is there a learning curve, yes, theres always a learning curve, I'm still learning things about cars, it's a never ending process especially when it's your career, but like I said, if you are even the slightest bit mechanically inclined, and are willing to work, it might be an option for you. and you never know, the knowledge you gain from working in your driveway may put your foot in the door of an established company with benefits, vacation, insurance, etc. Food for thought.

I use alldata, it's an online program that my shop has, but there may be others out there for free, but in any case, when I'm in the field at my dealership, I will charge the same hours as I would at home. So if an alternator pays 1.0 I charge the same weather I'm home or at work. That being said. That's the difference in strait time and flat rate. Strait time is like a normal job where you clock in, work for 4 hours and get paid for 4 hours. If you are flat rate, let's say it's an easy alternator and you get it Done in .6 that's about 36 minutes, a .1 (tenth) of an hour is about .1 or one tenth. So you get it done in .6, but the job still pays 1.0, that means that you get paid for one hour of work, 50 dollars, in my case, for roughly a half an hour of work. Its honest work, the vehicle gets repaired and the customer saves on average 50 dollars per hour (my shop charges 138 per hour labor). So with that being said. If it is a hard to get to alternator, or its your first one, and that one bolt gets to be a pain to remove, and you got 2 hours in it, you can only ethically charge for 1 hour that's book time. So that's called losing time. But. There are things that can warrant charging more time, things like rust, replacing hardware, etc. Sometimes theres overlap, so still using the alternator for the example, you must remove the drive belt first before removing the alternator, most cases you dont need to completely remove the belt from the vehicle, so it's just positioned aside, in the case that you are doing the alternator job for 1.0, and you notice it needs a belt, the belt pays .4 by itself, but it wouldn't be fair to charge 1.4, unless you can sleep with yourself charging the overlap time. I usually add half the time for overlap times. So .2 of the belt, the job would be 1.2 to replace the alternator and the belt. I hope I'm explaining what you want me to explain lol. Sometimes. Like with ball joints, labor will be say 3 hours for one side, but 4.8 (for example) for the other side. This is where I have a problem with the book times and I charge what's fair for both parties, as the only overlap is pulling the vehicle in and jacking it up, everything else is side by side. Which means that there is basically no overlap and my labor rate is already less than half of my dealership. So I think instances such as that is okay to charge the 5.5 hours using .5 for the overlap of jacking vehicle and test driving etc. But that aside, the 5.5 would be multiplied by 50 dollars, so 275 dollars for an afternoon of work. And you get to save the customer hundreds and hundreds of dollars still. I got menu prices like I was talking from earlier as well. Brakes are usually special, I'll do 50 dollars per axle, minus parts. Remember to always include parts prices and any additional time for lubrication, money for shop supplies such as towels, brake cleaner, grease, wire, special tools, etc. I have no problem charging 10 dollars or so for shop towels and brake cleaner when I'm working under a vehicle. I normally just add that into the labor, which is about .2 additional labor, or if you want to write out a receipt and include it in parts that works too. After all, it is your "business" so you can treat things like that however you see fit. So a normal side job kind of looks like this.... Guy says hey. My car is making a grinding noise when I stop, I say okay. I'll look at it really quick, if it's simple and requires no major checkout time I wont charge checkout, it looks like the front brakes are metal on metal, I'll call two or three parts stores and get the prices for pads and rotors, (this is all hypothetical) rotors are going to be 29.99 each, and pads are 19.99, before tax, I do 50 dollars for labor. Also, marking up parts if you got to go get them. I normally do a 10 percent to 25 percent markup since I live 30 miles from the nearest parts house, keeping this in mind. Two rotors are 60 and the pads are 20, that's 80 for brake parts plus the ten percent well just say 90 after markup 100 after tax and markup, I will round up or down for easy math, and easy transactions. This would make the whole job 150 dollars for the customer to drop their car off and I fix it, brakes normally take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes for this job, on the floor, at a slow or easy pace. I buy the pads, rotors, brake parts cleaner, shop towels if I need them, and save the receipts if the customer needs them for warranty purposes or anything. Once I test the performance and safety and all is well I will inform the customer their vehicle is ready and i trade them their keys and receipts for the money. Then I head back and count my money. As for labor times, there may be an app or an online source for approximately what to charge for specific year make model of vehicle. And dont forget labor changes with engine sizes and with how many drive wheels there are. For diagnosis. I usually do time involved, so strait time, but a fair strait time, if it takes me 1.4 or 1.3 I'm not going to charge 2 hours, or 1.4, I just do 50 dollars for my 1 hour, I do this for a couple reasons, first is easy math. Two is I like saving people money and helping when I can, and three, I know if I do these favors it looks good and it helps for customer retension, most times my most loyal customers I dont charge checkout depending on what it is. Checkout would be something that most people may have already had done at a shop then got sticker shocked by their labor (happens to me alot) so you may not have to worry about it at first, and I wouldn't recommend getting too deep into something you arent too experienced with, but like I said, watch videos on it and worst case scenario you have to tell someone you arent too familiar with that system and move on, no shame in not being able to work on something. An example of checking something out would be like a window doesnt roll up, I would charge most likely an hour to remove the door panel and connectors, and use a volt meter to rule out the switches and window motor, and i could go on about possible causes of window inop, but say you have power where you need it during a switch activation, at the window motor, it would need a motor, if not then checking wires and connectors etc would be necessary. But all of this is the diagnosis part. Say it needs the motor and it pays 1.3 to install the motor, I would charge 2.3 total, thats including checkout time. Hope at least some of this helps

Deliver apps success varies HUGELY on the area you live in. Someone in NYC, LA, or any big urban area would see more money than someone would who lives in the outskirts of a big city. Houston, for example, is very spread out and people usually go out and get their food instead of calling someone to get it for them. Favor, Door Dash, Postmates, whatever I’ve used them all and say in my car for an hour or 2 getting no orders.
My wife attempted the qkids route. There’s definitely a catch. And that is having prior teaching experience. She made it all the way through to the final phase,with flying colors (at least that what they told her) and then they cut her because she lacked any teaching experience.
That's not a catch, that's hiring quality employees. If you're going to teach, you should be trained and have experience. Knowing things is not the same as knowing how to impart it to other people.

Did you ever find out if they required her to have a degree of any kind? Vipkid requires you to have a Bachelor's degree. It kind of sucks because I do have a degree (but not Bachelor's), an education background in ECD, and 10+ years of experience, including teaching phonics and tutoring ESL. But I don't see any degree requirement for Qkids or Cambly.

There is also elaborate feedback to write, which, even with software to generate much of it, took me 1-2 hours per day. I was working about 50 hours per week and never saw my friends. I fell behind on grad school too because I was so sleepy. And still I only made like $24000 per year. Waste of my time.

A central bank or monetary authority is a monopolized and often nationalized institution given privileged control over the production and distribution of money and credit. Basically the government creates a whole bunch of fake money through processes you can learn about on youtube called government issued bonds. They make fake money, then loan you it, you pay it back with interest. They did nothing at all and had you working 40+ hours a week to pay them some money which never existed to begin with. Pro tip: if you want to be a freelance photographer, don't hop into wedding photography immediately. These are very important occasions for the couple, and if it's messed up they will forever remember it. It requires a lot of skill, preparation, experience, etc. to do weddings. Start with smaller stuff, like the company head shots he mentioned earlier.
Yeh I agree, my buddy has been doing photography for a while and eventually did a wedding. Omg it was a shit show. You have to understand the expectations of the people getting married are going to be EXTREMELY high, and basically if you can't meet them with the final end product(s), they will be very upset and most likely demand a refund.
Yeah, I have a friend who did photography. People wanted her to go insane distances, sometimes she was expected to fly to other states, they'd pay for her services then AFTER all was said and done the person decided they wanted 20 pounds photoshopped off. Can't have ONE photo that was photoshopped so they thought she was going to spend hours going in and photoshopping every single pic so they'd all match.
A good place to start is doing photoshoots for local musicians and doing senior photos for high schoolers.
Oh and holiday pictures for kids. I know a girl who started her photography business doing that and gained alot of clients and now does huge $300 birthday sets and is always fully booked.

My favorite side gig was pressure washing, I bought a 3500hp pressure washer for $450 to work on my parents house, then i got the idea to offer driveway cleanings for 50 bucks and 100 dollars for decks and porches. the pressure washer paid for itself within a week and I probably made about 250-400 a month spending about 4-6 hours pressure washing. You just need to make sure people know you are not insured, I would stray away from potentially risky jobs (Like Siding or anything involving windows and delicate fixtures)

1.Selling firewood in winter , bagged up or bulk , or bagged kindling is a good side business. Often timberyards will have a scrap bin and will be happy for you to take wood offcuts.
2.Growing and selling plants is a good business, chillies especially the superhot varieties sell well, cacti and succulents too. Pots can be sourced free from landscape contractors. Many succulents and cacti grow readily from cuttings. Sell them on Facebook Marketplace.
3.Household chores/handyman type jobs, raking leaves, clearing gutters in Autumn, cleaning house windows , repairing flyscreens, gardening and weeding are simple chores many older people can't do.
4.Replacing tap washers/reseating tap washers , irrigation system repairs/replacing sprinklers isn't difficult.
5.mulching gardens/weeding gardens/mowing lawns.
6.Washing and polishing cars.
7.Picking up and delivering items if you have a car or van, rubbish removal.
Once you have some money save it, use it to invest in things you can later sell for a profit such as buying small plants and growing them for a season then selling them larger, buying things cheap at garage sales then sell them on Facebook marketplace.

Great ideas Nate! One more I would through into the list is offering SAT/ACT Prep through Craigslist. I had a lot of success with that in the past and made solid money $20-30+/hr tutoring just the math sections of each of these tests. They are offered almost year round so they are always in demand and people are willing to pay a premium for SAT prep vs just regular tutoring.

I have a friend who started a doggie day care, a brick and mortar facility , that blossomed into a six figure annual income that they sold for mega bucks last year. SO JEALOUS !!! not really, but this is a very good side job that pays well bc most people LOVE their pets and will do just about anything to care for them. Keep up the good work. Am a Notary. It's not going to bring in much money alone but can definitely open a door if interested in working as a legal aid with unrelated experience, a bank teller or at a shipping store. Being available to coordinate with people on their schedule especially last min can cost you valuable time and you are limited how much you can charge. TBH the number of friends who request this counterbalances profit bc I often just do it as a favor. It is worth applying for sort of as a reference for other applications. A related location and/or related service optimizes opportunity. Keep in mind record keeping could save time and liability in case a lawsuit occurs over anything you notarize. There is not a requirement for a notary for absentee ballots this US election (should people have to pay to vote?) A related side hustle is hosting real estate closings ;)

Highly recommend dog walking. I'm from Colombia and I was visiting a cousin in Austin, dog walked the whole building for a month and made like 2500 dollars which is a lot in my country, and was just like an hour a day work.

Nate O'Brien I just finished watching that video and it was a very good video but a lot of the stuff I couldn't do. I've done fiverr before since ik how to do some picture editing but it's VERY hard to compete on Fiverr. I've also sold stuff on eBay and my ebay sales went high in such a short amount of time that ebay did one of those account checks so if ur account does really well, ebay asks for drivers licence, credit card statement and where you get the products so they can make sure ebay is safe and since I'm 15 they suspended my account. So now I'll try transcribing vids and doing some affiliate marketing and hopefully that goes well. This was a long comment sorry. Also please make that other video soon for how teens can make money

One side job that my sister used to do and I'm going to start with this year is to give someone private tuition. At my school sometimes teachers refer older students to younger ones that need a little extra help. You can easily charge 10$ - 15$ per hour.

As an ex professional wedding photographer I have to say, it is not so easy as you present it.
It takes time to learn to photograph decently and time to learn to shoot a wedding, it is a responsability!
It takes time to build your reputation as a reliable photographer.
It is easier to learn to do simple portraits and, still, you need investment for a good camera, lightstands, lights, bouncers etc and build a website.

What about commission based services that you can do from home? In Staffing, I only work a couple hours a week and earn massive commissions when I find a successful candidate. More people need to know about this.
The economy is really in trouble when these sound like decent ways to make money. Flexibility is not worth sacrificing for decent pay and benefits. The notary thing would be kind of pointless unless you do something that requires notaries to sign things, for instance if you're in real estate. Your friends might come to you to transfer a car or something, but most of the time when you need one, there will be one associated with what you're doing.
Professional photography is a lot of work. It’s a common misconception since camera cameras and editing apps are so common and easy to use but professional photography involves a lot more. It involves expensive cameras, lighting screens, editing with raw/knowing how to properly edit and save photos, adjusting iso levels and exposure, etc.
If this is something anyone wants to get into I recommend getting a technical certificate in photography through a local community college first. They’ll set you up with the basics and (usually) a good starting portfolio.
It's nice to see someone who can publish a quality video with realistic possiblities.

Learn how to diagnose and repair automobiles. Purchase the required tools. (Or if you're already employed as a mechanic/technician you have a head start) you can make 50 to 400 dollars per actual hour worked performing honest work. Not stealing, not doing shotty work, just fixing cars for people at a cheaper rate than dealerships. You will have to learn how book times work, and what is actually fair, but it can be lucrative at times on the side and you can make far far more than 100 a day if your clientele is there. Even if you are only doing routine maintenance such as oil changes, cabin filters, brake jobs, fluid exchanges (which are not just a gimmick and I will discuss that with anyone willing to attempt to argue), and yeah. Side work. It's for those people willing to get their hands dirty and accomplish a real world task that not many people are capable of doing or willing to learn anymore. But mind you. The technology inside a car these days is the most that has ever been. And diagnosing a car is more than kicking a tire, to do deep diagnosis, it takes years of training and hands on experience, expensive tools and countless hours removing and installing components to figure out the fastest and most accurate way to repair a vehicle. That being said. Most people can learn simple mechanics of the car, replacing brakes, fluids, easy to access components, interior work such as seat covers carpet, headliners dash work. It is a money maker if you are willing to work and you know what you're doing.

@Roland Pierce though a shop would be nice, it's not always necessary. I have repaired hundreds of vehicles right in my driveway, as long as you are organized and the weather isn't going crazy you would be surprised what you could do without a shop. I will agree on tools, however, the overhead for a decent hand tool set from a place like harbor freight is about 200 dollars, and with that being said, those tools will last you as long as you have them, a lot of tools have lifetime warranties, so you buy it once and it gets fixed forever! Cool deal I think. As for the learning curve. TH-cam is a great place to start and if you've ever had to replace a bulb or a filter or a set of brakes on your own car and hadn't had to do it before you probably watched TH-cam or Google or asked someone you know for advice on how to get the job done. That being said, safety is always number one priority and equipment for that will have to be bought, but, yardsales, auctions, goodwill, harbor freight, northern tools, Ebay, craigslist, tools and equipment can be bought cheap. And after you put a few sets of brakes on and do a few oil changes you can be pretty much guaranteed to have your tools paid for within the first 5 to 10 jobs, depending on how much you allow yourself for tools. With all that being said, I am a dealership technician with going on 10 years of experience here soon, and I own about 20,000 worth of tools and equipment, (not bragging, I'd rather own a new car, or have my insurance paid for lol) but the fact is I use my tools every single day and they have to be of the highest quality, so snap on, Matco, cornwell, mac, I even own a few craftsman tools. But the point I'm making here is you don't need these expensive tools, compare a harbor freight 3/8 drive rubber grip ratchet (12 dollars) to one like mine, a Matco 3/8 rubber grip ratchet (80 dollars on sale) there are differences in performance, but that harbor freight ratches will work for a long time and give you no issues while trying to work on the side. And of course getting your hands dirty isn't always what the kids want now days. I'm 27 and dont mind getting my hands dirty, and I believe that there are many out there who are the same way still. So that takes care of the high overhead, I would say If you want to do things like starters, alternators, belts, hoses, brakes, rotors, drums, radios, window regulators, switches, sensors, dash work, seat work (such as blend doors, air ducts, seat covers, wiring, cushions, etc), light bulbs, lenses, horns, all the little stuff that can be done easily (after you have done one or two), I'd say look at spending upwards of 3 to 5 hundred dollars in total maybe. You dont need it all at once, dont buy tools you dont need yet, and always make sure that you follow safety procedures, torque wheels properly, use Jack stands, etc.
A friend of ours is a photographer, He owned little tools already, and using TH-cam alone he was able to put a timing chain on and set the timing on his vehicle. Now to an experienced technician that might seem like child's play, but this guy had zero experience mechanically, and was able to do that job in one day. Let it be noted that if for example that job booked out for 6 hours of labor, and you charge say anywhere from 20 to 50 an hour, that's a pretty good paycheck... for one day of work. 200 to 300 dollars would pretty well pay off those tools lol. So at the end of the day, it boils down to a few things
1. Are you willing to get your hands dirty and learn something new and/or expand on what you already know?
2. Are you willing to buy a few tools to repair and test vehicles?
3. Are you willing to make 3 hundred to 5 hundred dollars a day depending on workflow?
I live in a rural area where most of my neighbors fix their own stuff lol so the only side work I can get is from friends of friends and people in the city, I dont advertise, I don't have business cards, it's all word of mouth and let me tell you, I stay busy. Someone who lives close to town, or in town has a big advantage, especially if you have a carport, garage, level or almost level driveway, etc. Your neighbors might not always know how to fix something and all you gotta do is offer to look at it, watch a video on it, etc. You might save them hundreds while making yourself hundreds. My shop charges 138 dollars per hour. That's our labor rate. I charge 50 dollars per hour at home, I undercut all the shops around, and save people hundreds. If you're just starting off and arent so sure of your skills you could charge less, or make up a menu, my menu for brakes is cars I charge 50 to put brakes and rotors on, minus parts. Trucks I charge 60, and big trucks I do 100. Most everything Is book time, not actual time, so you can't work on a starter for 10 hours and charge them 500 bucks, it dont work that way, if the starter books for 1.1 then I charge 55 dollars. For example. Anyways not to write a book I just wanted to clear those things up, is it nice to have a shop, yes, do nice expensive tools make life a little easier at times, yes, is there a learning curve, yes, theres always a learning curve, I'm still learning things about cars, it's a never ending process especially when it's your career, but like I said, if you are even the slightest bit mechanically inclined, and are willing to work, it might be an option for you. and you never know, the knowledge you gain from working in your driveway may put your foot in the door of an established company with benefits, vacation, insurance, etc. Food for thought.

I use alldata, it's an online program that my shop has, but there may be others out there for free, but in any case, when I'm in the field at my dealership, I will charge the same hours as I would at home. So if an alternator pays 1.0 I charge the same weather I'm home or at work. That being said. That's the difference in strait time and flat rate. Strait time is like a normal job where you clock in, work for 4 hours and get paid for 4 hours. If you are flat rate, let's say it's an easy alternator and you get it Done in .6 that's about 36 minutes, a .1 (tenth) of an hour is about .1 or one tenth. So you get it done in .6, but the job still pays 1.0, that means that you get paid for one hour of work, 50 dollars, in my case, for roughly a half an hour of work. Its honest work, the vehicle gets repaired and the customer saves on average 50 dollars per hour (my shop charges 138 per hour labor). So with that being said. If it is a hard to get to alternator, or its your first one, and that one bolt gets to be a pain to remove, and you got 2 hours in it, you can only ethically charge for 1 hour that's book time. So that's called losing time. But. There are things that can warrant charging more time, things like rust, replacing hardware, etc. Sometimes theres overlap, so still using the alternator for the example, you must remove the drive belt first before removing the alternator, most cases you dont need to completely remove the belt from the vehicle, so it's just positioned aside, in the case that you are doing the alternator job for 1.0, and you notice it needs a belt, the belt pays .4 by itself, but it wouldn't be fair to charge 1.4, unless you can sleep with yourself charging the overlap time. I usually add half the time for overlap times. So .2 of the belt, the job would be 1.2 to replace the alternator and the belt. I hope I'm explaining what you want me to explain lol.
Sometimes. Like with ball joints, labor will be say 3 hours for one side, but 4.8 (for example) for the other side. This is where I have a problem with the book times and I charge what's fair for both parties, as the only overlap is pulling the vehicle in and jacking it up, everything else is side by side. Which means that there is basically no overlap and my labor rate is already less than half of my dealership. So I think instances such as that is okay to charge the 5.5 hours using .5 for the overlap of jacking vehicle and test driving etc. But that aside, the 5.5 would be multiplied by 50 dollars, so 275 dollars for an afternoon of work. And you get to save the customer hundreds and hundreds of dollars still.
I got menu prices like I was talking from earlier as well. Brakes are usually special, I'll do 50 dollars per axle, minus parts. Remember to always include parts prices and any additional time for lubrication, money for shop supplies such as towels, brake cleaner, grease, wire, special tools, etc. I have no problem charging 10 dollars or so for shop towels and brake cleaner when I'm working under a vehicle. I normally just add that into the labor, which is about .2 additional labor, or if you want to write out a receipt and include it in parts that works too. After all, it is your "business" so you can treat things like that however you see fit.
So a normal side job kind of looks like this....
Guy says hey. My car is making a grinding noise when I stop, I say okay. I'll look at it really quick, if it's simple and requires no major checkout time I wont charge checkout, it looks like the front brakes are metal on metal, I'll call two or three parts stores and get the prices for pads and rotors, (this is all hypothetical) rotors are going to be 29.99 each, and pads are 19.99, before tax, I do 50 dollars for labor. Also, marking up parts if you got to go get them. I normally do a 10 percent to 25 percent markup since I live 30 miles from the nearest parts house, keeping this in mind. Two rotors are 60 and the pads are 20, that's 80 for brake parts plus the ten percent well just say 90 after markup 100 after tax and markup, I will round up or down for easy math, and easy transactions. This would make the whole job 150 dollars for the customer to drop their car off and I fix it, brakes normally take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes for this job, on the floor, at a slow or easy pace. I buy the pads, rotors, brake parts cleaner, shop towels if I need them, and save the receipts if the customer needs them for warranty purposes or anything. Once I test the performance and safety and all is well I will inform the customer their vehicle is ready and i trade them their keys and receipts for the money. Then I head back and count my money.
As for labor times, there may be an app or an online source for approximately what to charge for specific year make model of vehicle. And dont forget labor changes with engine sizes and with how many drive wheels there are.
For diagnosis. I usually do time involved, so strait time, but a fair strait time, if it takes me 1.4 or 1.3 I'm not going to charge 2 hours, or 1.4, I just do 50 dollars for my 1 hour, I do this for a couple reasons, first is easy math. Two is I like saving people money and helping when I can, and three, I know if I do these favors it looks good and it helps for customer retension, most times my most loyal customers I dont charge checkout depending on what it is.
Checkout would be something that most people may have already had done at a shop then got sticker shocked by their labor (happens to me alot) so you may not have to worry about it at first, and I wouldn't recommend getting too deep into something you arent too experienced with, but like I said, watch videos on it and worst case scenario you have to tell someone you arent too familiar with that system and move on, no shame in not being able to work on something. An example of checking something out would be like a window doesnt roll up, I would charge most likely an hour to remove the door panel and connectors, and use a volt meter to rule out the switches and window motor, and i could go on about possible causes of window inop, but say you have power where you need it during a switch activation, at the window motor, it would need a motor, if not then checking wires and connectors etc would be necessary. But all of this is the diagnosis part. Say it needs the motor and it pays 1.3 to install the motor, I would charge 2.3 total, thats including checkout time.

Deliver apps success varies HUGELY on the area you live in. Someone in NYC, LA, or any big urban area would see more money than someone would who lives in the outskirts of a big city. Houston, for example, is very spread out and people usually go out and get their food instead of calling someone to get it for them. Favor, Door Dash, Postmates, whatever I’ve used them all and say in my car for an hour or 2 getting no orders.

There is also elaborate feedback to write, which, even with software to generate much of it, took me 1-2 hours per day. I was working about 50 hours per week and never saw my friends. I fell behind on grad school too because I was so sleepy. And still I only made like $24000 per year. Waste of my time.

The best way to make money is... to become President of some gullible country. Then pass tax laws for rich people, and change legislation to favor businesses that you have stock in. A central bank or monetary authority is a monopolized and often nationalized institution given privileged control over the production and distribution of money and credit.
Basically the government creates a whole bunch of fake money through processes you can learn about on youtube called government issued bonds. They make fake money, then loan you it, you pay it back with interest. They did nothing at all and had you working 40+ hours a week to pay them some money which never existed to begin with.
And that is the hustle that the banks/government pulls on us, all because you wanted that nice house or that new lexus.... not saying wanting shit is bad just,,,, afford it? At any rate Mr.FeelingShred is saying we are all working for the govt. cause we owe them everything we make. This only applies to people in debt... the majority of US Citizens.

Utilize any skills you have. I work as a mechanic full time, but also offer auto repair services from home where I make anywhere from $40-$70/hr from my own driveway. I also sell used car parts from junk cars which brings in cash and lets me upsell my auto repair services.
