Brilliant video, again. Thanks. Just fitted the gravel version of this Wheeltop Groupset to my bike and I have relied on your input heavily. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
I really like this Oz Cycle guy he's got a smile that could sell ice to a penguin 🤣 no seriously he really does so brilliant stuff and the detail is incredible!
Thoroughly enjoying my rim brake version of the wheel top. Using shimano 12 speed dura-ace cassett 30-11 and ultegra compact chain rings on the front with a shimano 12 speed chain on my climbing bike it’s so quiet changing gears I need to look and see if the change has happened from time to time. 😁Wow I just love this group set Thank you oz cyclist for bringing this group set to my attention 🙏 Big fan of the podcast 👍
Wheeltop just bought Rotor. I expect them to try to break into the more mainstream western market under that branding. They could even pair it with Rotor cranksets and cassettes for complete groupsets.
I think the wheel top system is great value for money. I have the mountain bike version the eds ox long cage. If you're bike falls over like yours did you can actually break the aluminium bolt that attaches the derailleur to the hanger. That's what happened to mine. I now have 3 spares. I think the system is excellent shifts like a dream can't fault it
13:45 : I have the rim brake version and noticed the same FD wear issue but I noticed the Wheeltop FD has the same 3 slot mounting interface for the plastic skid plate Shimano uses so I uncliped one from an old Ultergra FD and it works great.....cheap uprade if you have a spare parts bin
Nice review as always. I just finished installing my wheel top rim brake group set and just road around the neighborhood to get things dialed in. For the most part it was flawless install. But, the front mech is fiddly. Can’t wait to ride this. But, of course I’ve come down with the head cold from hell. 😢
Excelente revisión. Sería compatible usar manetas de cambio con desviador de cambio trasero de gravel Poder usar doble plato y desviador trasero gravel
Hi thanks for the review the only issue I had with this was the Front derailleur hit my frame as its pretty large. Could never get it dialled in perfectly due to this.
Thank you very much for this review. I am now convinced and will install it on my rim brake bike. Could you tell me which intergrated handle you have pit on your rim brake bike? With greetings from the Netherlands. Thanks for your answer and have a nice Christmas
been watching all your videos on this and I'm very interested in the rim brake version for my older Cervelo. Do you think there is a way to fit some kind of plastic protector, similar to Shimano, to the side of the cage to protect the inner plate or it's not worth it? thanks for the great content
Nice Video, What is an identical Gap between Pad and Disc in the hydraulic disk brake ? My bicycle is 7 years old with shimano M446 front and rear hydraulick disc brakes. i think this Gap is becoming less as compared to New. Hence day by day it's becoming very difficult to align the caliper to avoid rubbing noise since the gap is very very thin and i am wasting my maximum time in aligning the caliper. After the aging of the hydraulic disc brakes is this normal? Please guide.
Sounds like the pistons are not retracting all the way. Remove wheel & brake pads. Press brake lever er once. Spray into caliper onto pistons with brake cleaner and run old toothbrush over pistons. Spray again to remove any debris. Once dry , put one drop of mineral oil on each pistons. Push the pistons back in. Insert brake pads and wheel.
Thanks Sir for your prompt guidance. I am also feeling the same problem That's why i already did the above exercise but still no improvement in retracting the pistons all the way. Who plays the rolls for retracting the pistons all the way caliper pistons seal or negative pressure creates when we release the brake leaver. Changing Caliper pistons seals will resolve the issue? What is the identical GAP between Disc and Pad?
does this have auto trim on the front derailleur? also can the shifters be set up to go up and down and do the front shifting on thier own like sequential mode i think its called on sram
As the batteries are not removable this would seem to rule out flying with a bike equipped with it as I think batteries have to be carried in hand luggage?
When i fly with my Di2 shimano, the derailleurs come in my carry-on. But most airlines allow batteries to remain on/in the bike if they're disconnected
My experience wasn’t as good as some, mine the rear derailer wouldn’t stay centered on the 6the cog even if I adjusted by one number, it would rub no matter what, then the shifters would rattle on bumpy roads , also the rear derailer would phantom shift on bumpy roads even if I didn’t touch the levers, but smooth roads no phantom shifts.
I'm considering buying Wheeltop groupsets for my 3 currently used bikes. Can I have all three setups on the app at once and switch between them? Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for the info. I have a few follow up questions. Q1: is the mechanical 9100 dura-ace smaller compared to 8000 ultegra? Q2: is the new 105 mechanical smaller compared to 8000 ultegra?
i currently have ultegra R8000 11 speed mech shifting on my disc brake bike. If i wanted to leave my Ultegra brakes and hoses on the bike would the wheeltop be compatible with this?
Yes. At the shifter end of the hydro hose, you will need to cut off and replace the barb and olive and replace them with the Wheeltop ones as the Shimano barb and olive isn't compatible with the Wheeltop shifter. Easy done.

I have a few friends that have been riding/racing Wheeltop for over a year now and they love it. They sold me on it.
I cut a small strip of old butyl inner tube and use it like a rubber band over the derailuers to keep the dust caps in place.

I never even noticed. Great tip , thanx 😊
I've noticed this today too! But without re-adjusting my chain is now rubbing on the plastic plate... did you habe to re-adjust too?
Excellent review. I would consider buying this groupset in the near future. Cheers from Sicily
Im using wheeltop rim brake for 10 months now, abused it already & still works fine..

Ty for this nice explication ❤❤❤
amazing and thorough as always sir. now i am waiting for GeX long term ride review
Wow awesome review as always dude very in depth well done 😊hope you have a great Christmas and new year 🎄🎅 👍 Pete
very insightful
excellent analysis...
Wow thank you for this video! Got new sub
Hopefully there's a v2 somewhere down the line that doesn't look like it's been created with a boxcutter. As a market disruptor still very welcome.

Rim brake version?
@@stevenleffanue yes correct rim version
Great detailed review as usual
The wheeltop website doesn't show the rim brake version 😢
It's there. Tap the box " cable brake groupset " .

Enjoy installing the rim brake version , it's very easy to do. The integrated bar is Yoeleo H9.

Yes , Shimano skid plates will fit perfectly....you can take one off unused derailleur or buy just the skid plate for a few dollars new.
@@stevenleffanue fantastic! thanks

No

Sounds like faulty paddle to switch. Contact Wheeltop and they should replace that shifter.
I paired this one with Sram Red, but FD cannot go more lower... need some spacers 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes you can. You give a name to each groupset and can toggle to whichever one you want.
@@stevenleffanue great, thanks for your help 👍🏻
Pls can the jockey wheels/set be changed for something longer and different design ?
You can use their GEX rear derailleur which has longer jockey cages....it will pair with the TX shifters
Dear Oz, What would be the best system for the largest of hands?
The newest SRAM Red has a long shifter body and the mechanical Shimano 8000 and 7000 shifters are large body shifters too.
