Such a great, thorough, factual review. Thank you very much for this. At 550€ still a bit expensive to be awesome. The fact that you can setup the left shifter, in 1x, to act as an upshift to do like the SRAM AXS is great. ‘Cos with gloves there’s bound to be mishap with these tiny shifter buttons
Thanks for adding the weight, most reviewers don´t do it. It seems Wheeltop is obviously not telling the truth about the weight as they say the rear derailleur is 375g (long cage +-2g) vs measured 405g and the calipers are quoted as 95g (+-5g) vs measured 121g. That´s quite a bit off from what you have weighted. Shimano and Sram is usually spot on with the claimed weight.
I notice the top jockey wheel (guide wheel) is on a cam rather than concentric with the pivot. This always gives a much better shift and helps mech work with a very wide range of different cassettes.
Seems to be quite a few TH-camrs reviewing these recently released chinese branded electronic groupsets. Seems decent for the money but I'll stick with Sram and Shimano for now as both DI2 and Sram AXS have been on the market for a while now and have proven long term stability and reliability.
You mentioned that road shifters are carbon whereas the GeX are aluminium. The wheeltop page now has Carbon Shifters as an option with the GeX groupset. I suspect they are exactly the same shifter. As you commented in these chats, the brains are in the rear mech, not the shifter...... Carbon shifters increase the cost :-)
I have a question, Wheeltop website says the shifters are compatible and if they are the tx ones anyway, surely you can run the tx front mech then set it up on the tx app?
Hi ..Good reviw.. I like to order gex soon. But I have mtb version (ox) of wheeltop on my hard tail mtb.. Is this (ox) possible to work on my greval frame flat bar system? The ohter word I want to know that ox work on greval flat bar system…
what's the point in limiting support for a front road derailleur? this groupset is praised to be the be all end all of bring your own cassette and chainrings, it appalling that they are limiting compatibility between road/gravel versions, especially when even shimano and sram manage to do it with their electronic offerings
All this intercompatibility is good, but there is no option to purchase deraileurs and shifters separately....At least I did not found such option. So... :(
I am really disappointed with shimano I have cues rear hub that has failed within a month. Madison has been a let down. It's been over a month and still no support.

Yes , good for long fingered gloves
Nice, clear, detailed preview. Love it. Looking forward to the on-bike results, particularly battery life and clarity of level warning

Your review and parts mechanism are very detailed.
Great that this system now works with the flatbar shifter!

Thank you for a great video, very well described , explained, good job.

Looking to the Ican build and review. Their frames must be one of the best value with excellent quality you can buy. I've never seen a bad review.
ICAN have been in the carbon production business for a long time now. ..mostly rims. So far, the frame rides very nicely.
Thanks for this thorough review. Do you think this would work on an 11-36 cassette?
Yes it does

Yes. Wheeltop EDS is an evolving system along with the App. They have just released version 2 of their OX rear derailleur too.
THANKS - good stuff
Спасибо, добрый Друг.
I hate it, that they make the groups ( road, gravel, mtb) not compatibe to each other.
intresting how grx rear derailleur work with ethirteen 9-46 cassette???
What is the difference between OX and GeX derailleurs..Dose OX derailleurs works on greval frame?
No, I asked Wheeltop, they said that the GeX shifters and OX derailleur do not work together.....shame
I have a question, Wheeltop website says the shifters are compatible and if they are the tx ones anyway, surely you can run the tx front mech then set it up on the tx app?
No. The CPU is in the rear derailleur . Gex rear derailleur doesn't accommodate a front derailleur. Maybe in the future Wheeltop will make it so.
Quite convincing really. I guess the cable version is a fair bit cheaper as it's only mech and shifters.
Cheaper by only about $50
Hi ..Good reviw.. I like to order gex soon. But
I have mtb version (ox) of wheeltop on my hard tail mtb..
Is this (ox) possible to work on my greval frame flat bar system?
The ohter word I want to know that ox work on greval flat bar system…
So you want to pair the OX thumb shifters with the GEX rear derailleur?
I wonder that OX set compatible with greval frame. If it is compatible with greval frame ,why wheeltop introduce new derailler?
What is the deference between gex and OX derailleurs..The shimano 12 speed cassette computable with mtb and greval frame ..as far as Iknow..
No, I asked Wheeltop via email, they said that the GeX shifters and OX derailleur do not work together.....shame
Can I replace those Wheeltop calipers with Shimano GRX calipers?
Yes , the mineral oil and displacement rate are the same.

👌
Will this work with a cassette with a 10t sprocket?
Yes. Take off 1 tooth from the maximum , so instead of 11t-46t it will be 19t-45t for example.
All this intercompatibility is good, but there is no option to purchase deraileurs and shifters separately....At least I did not found such option. So... :(
You can buy parts separately from an online shop
@@stevenleffanue site to which link under the video redirects lists only complete sets. Or is there another place to buy?
Another place. Sorry I don't have link on hand. Will put it in description when I find it again.
I am really disappointed with shimano I have cues rear hub that has failed within a month. Madison has been a let down. It's been over a month and still no support.
Thats a joke, sending road shifters with road markings on gravel groupo.
What would you change?
Saving money on a more reasonably priced kit. No big deal.
Looks like they are the same shifters. The brains for the front/rear mech are in the rear mech. I think this is correct
I gave up riding offroad completely. It's too dirty. I even gave my CX bike away.
