- A quick recap of Mary and I being re-homed in a new Clayton Modular House. The first dirt was dug in March of 2021 and we moved in in July 2021. Not bad for a Pandemic construction project.
This model house is the Heritage.
Beautiful. Hopefully it’s ok inside. They have a lot of complaints about when stuff goes back during moving and construction they don’t fix it.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
No problems to report!
It looks like mobile home that they disconnected from the frame.
So if you need septic/well do you have to have this installed 1st..before the can build on your land?😮
Great question. Yes you have to have that. At least we already had that on the property because we had a trailer we were living in.
Nice presentation. Curious, where does the furnace and hot water heater go?
There are closets built into the utility room that are used for the hot water heater and the furnace. We had them not include a hot water heater and installed a gas hot water heater in the utility room above the washing machine. So we have an extra closet.
Above the hot water heater? Would that be a "tank-less" hot water heater? Thanks for the awesome info! @@hubbard1
Yes. It is a tankless gas hot water heater.
Et pas de garage ???
Does it have to go up on blocks?
No. It sits on a foundation.
Any idea how much does the labor cost to assembly this type of modular homes?
I’m afraid that I am just a customer who loves his home. I don’t actually work for Clayton.
It should be figured into the cost.
I'm in the process of buying a similar modular home so I can comment on this. Typically, transporting the house to the site and assembling it is included in the price of the home. So if your dealer says the home is $150K, all of that is usually included. What isn't typically included is preparing the site for the home.
Also, it’s important to note that the site prep for this house cost us four times what they said it would. But that may be because of our rural location and how rocky the soil is in our area.
Yes, We bought a $130,000 and the botton line was $669,000 . It was cheaply built. And had all kinds of things that needed to be fixed. I would NEVER recommend buying a Clayton home to anyone. They are not well built and getting things fixed in a timely manner is a fight for every inch.

Which house (style) is that!? I love it!!
Wow! Great question. I should have put that in the description.

You can not see
What is a ball park cost of this house?
That price has changed since 2020. I would not have. Any idea what it would cost now.
Do Clayton Homes charge for the driveway?
The customer is responsible for all land grading including the driveway
It depends on type of loan mother beep.
Not true. We were charged for land grading and driveway. And the driveway was so terrible we paid $ 8000 more for a decent draveway when they didn't want to fix the one we had.@@hubbard1
Is it truly modular?
Yes.
What's the name of the house?
Camo tornado magnets
Shoe box
Mine is the Benjamin. They don't make the Benjamin I got anymore. One similar is still sold. A bit smaller than mine.
My friends house is Cottonwood Lane model
Clayton Homes is horrible, stay far away. There is a reason they only warranty for 1 year only.
TOTALLY agree. Ours is cheaply built. And we had to pay almost $40,000 on top of the price for delivery, driveway, septic, assembly, terrible porches, a roof that leaked, uneven floors, had to have someone else repair the terrible driveway. And the state inspector made them come in and fix the grade and remove standing water under the house. DO NOT even consider buying one.
Oh goodness, I keep hearing bad things about Clayton homes, and they are the primary sellers in my area. With all the bad reviews, you'd think they'd do better!
@@janegoodwin1823 $40k for all the site prep AND septic is not bad at all! Anything wrong with the STRUCTURE, FIT and FINISH on the other hand is on the manufacturer.
@@childset44just don’t listen to the covid reviews because i have had one for a year now and have had no problems. everyone i know with a covid home has had many problems
