I'm so tired of being disappointed with games this year. EDIT: My three big disappointments are TLOU2, Avengers game and Cyberpunk 2077. I haven't been disappointed much in previous years. 2018 and 2019 were pretty good for me in that most games I was looking forward to ended up being good. Example: RDR2, Hitman 2, Spider-Man, Death Stranding, etc. This year it's been disappointment after disappointment for me.
Me too, a shame really. The same happened with Diablo 3 to me, I was excited for it, and I wanted to like it so badly. But it was a far cry from how the franchise used to be. Cyberpunk is worse though, its the first game of it's series.
@@ziephel-6780 They fixed all the major issues with Daiblo 3, D3 launch was terrible but once they added the Reaper of Souls DLC, it fixed most if not all the major issues for me. The loot drop is way better and they got rid of that awful Auction of real money.

It’s getting really frustrating, it’s starting to get to a point where I can’t be excited for anything even games from studios that I have loved. The only studios that I can really not worry about as much is Santa Monica, platinum games, and software( and some others that I can’t think of) but it’s sad that I have to worry more and more of great visions being destroyed.
Gaming industry is dying to be honest. They've all gone corporate with suits and execs running the show. All the passionate game creators have long left their companies and do indy stuff now. Production costs are astronomical for "AAA" titles now, the companies spew out promises and what not to get pre orders and snag all the money before the game comes out to show to investors "Hey look we are doing awesome guys! Buy our stocks!". Fuck em all, I'm going back to pirating these shit AAA titles. I'll only support real indy devs who do passion projects.

No, bugs are the biggest problem. That’s the consensus, I’ve only seen a few ppl complain about content & gameplay. But I’ve seen countless threads of ppl not able to finish their games. I waited until last week to finally play a game I’ve been waiting for since we got wind it was coming out. The game is still so bugged that I can’t even watch this video😂. I thought it was a part of Joe’s opening skit to just freeze 10 seconds in🤔. With my phone service & my home WiFi i have to buffer this video now

At least in Poland they released the statement they screwed up and will give refund to everybody that bought PS4 or Xbox One versions, doesn't matter if physical or digital. Dunno about new generations tho. They said they are gonna repair games, including 2 huge patches until February. Edited: CDP instead of just CD.

If you hype something up so much while making big promises, and then delay it multiple times, a response like that from the fans should be expected, even if it's unwarranted. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. CDPR knew exactly what the response would be. This was 100% their decision and they made it for business reasons, like any other company. They deserve the blame. If EA did the same thing, there would be a mass outcry far bigger than this.
Want to believe and immerse myself. But first hour in game two major glitches took me out of it. All the chairs disappeared in a scene and people were floating for the entire convo in semi serious moment. And during first major mission a car smashed into us but it didn’t hit us it went through us
I’ve never had cops on me. I didn’t see any cops. I figured there was no cops in this game. Might be a bug I went through this wall that was loading in checking it out and it load in and I was stuck in the building and had to restart my game like cmon
CD Projekt lied about everything. Game obviously was not meant for 9th gen consoles. This game is not an RPG. This game does not have an immersive and alive open world, it does not even have a proper AI system. Misleading trailers, polished promotional images etc, those are one thing, lying about every single aspect about your game is another. I have never seen anything like this before. Features missing in this game missing, which would make this an RPG: - deep, meaningful choices (yeah, nope! Not really!) - diverging story paths (nope, not there!) - building deep relationships with other characters (nope, not there! Frankly the only character you half-way build a relationship with is your romance and frankly those are lacking as well, especially in variety! There's one straight one per gender and one for gay people per gender...buh, fucking, who! Mass Effect did this better than you CDPR!) - Interactive City (not really, you can't even sit on a damn bench unless the story demands it!) - City-Simulation that reacts to the player, their deeds, reputation! (Not in the game either, hell the basic AI-Package for the pedestrians and drivers is laughable! Cars don't go around if you park on the road! People run away in a panick if you do double jumps around them etc. etc.) None of that is in the game! You see remnants here and there in quests that they showed off over the years, but even there most of those systems aren't working! Frankly They lied to us up to release, so IMHO they commited fraud. The bugs are IMHO a minor issue! It is the design-choices, which they probably will not change as they'd have to go back to the drawing board and re-write the whole story etc., that really make this a bad game! And how are they gonna fix the fact that your life path literally doesn’t affect your story? None of the character choices make any kind of a “major” impact like they talked about! The AIs are ammo sponges and it takes multiple headshots to take them out. Vehicle control is ridiculous. There’s just so much wrong with the game. There is absolutely no attention to detail. I didn’t have any expectations as such but the game itself is half-baked. I hope it’s not too much to expect the water to splash when I shoot at it? The game released in 2020 and several games from a few years ago are simply better. The world looks fantastic but only on the outside. The only reason we fell to their hype was due to the legacy of witcher 3. CD Projekt release prior to witcher 3 like witcher and witcher 2 were mediocre games. Their argument that ps 4 and xbox one are having poor hardware is baseless since Red dead redemption 2, ghost of tsushima and last of us 2 ran much better on ps4 than cyberpunk running on pc.

@@sykeassaultz3884 - You go down to certain districts, and you see the same exact cars all through the area (Rayfield Caliburns ALL throughout city center... really?) - No car customization, no apartment customization (“V’s apartment plays a ‘central role’ in the story” hilarious), no roleplaying whatsoever, no buying apartments or any indication of rising through the ranks of Night City except for a green number on a screen. - Godawful NPC AI, dead-feeling city with nothing to do other than missions (remember when they said this was the most alive city in a video game?) - 20-30 hour story. They said it’d be a little shorter than the Witcher in terms of content, and that’s true if your idea of “content” is going to blue dots on a map to kill NPCs and collect shit off their dead bodies. I played almost all side missions and gigs, and by the time the story was done, the side stuff all felt pointless. Imagine playing a couple of main story missions without doing what I did: You’d be done with the game in a couple of days with nothing left to do. - No wall-jumping mantis blades and etc. - No more than two joytoys - No venues you can hang out in Edit: - No public transportation system or open parking lots in a city the size of Night City 👍🏻 - In 2077, society abandoned barbers. No ability to change our style.
It definitely wasn’t ready for release. Now that it’s out all of the issues will never be fixed. I’ve never seen any game be completely fixed after a release.

They had a lot of talk about character customization, but honestly it was so disappointing and half asses. No body types or anything to really handcraft a unique character. The gameplay is trash too. Skyrim, a game that’s about 10 years old has a world thats more alive than cyberpunk.

Tbh it probably would have been a better game if they cut Keanu out. I understand that he was a huge part of it and everyone was excited that he was included, however I'm sure he alone was a huge part of their budget for this game and had they not focused on him, they would have had more resources to actually include much of what they had cut out. Or at the very least, even though it would have pissed people off, delay the game even further to work the bugs and glitches out.

why... when have you ever seen any devs advertise their game on a shitty base console.. let alone even a mid level PC.. every game dev to ever exist has always shown pre rendered game footage on a top of the line PC.. you dont show it on outdated consoles.. that is like ferrari showcasing a new supercar without body panels.. it would look shit and no one would want it. obviously. Why would they even bother to show base console footage when really, this game isnt made for base consoles.. it is supposed to be a next gen title but base console bitches kept crying their eyes out that they would be left out.. so CDPR, being nice af, decided not to let console players feel left out, and had to build tools into the game which have NEVER been made for a game before and those built in tools that run in the background are literally what is causing the game to bug.. cause the game doesnt know what platform or spec of PC you're gonna be using.. so the tools which are meant to allow "optimisation" over all platforms needs to be active at all times.. but its sheer baggage, and an experimental tool! (People seem to be forgetting that exact point also).. if we didnt have to have the game relying on newly never built before tech to accompany for absolutely outdated shitty consoles cause they cant handle next gen, then we would have a next gen title that runs just fine because it wouldlnt have to go at the pace of the slowest.. its like running track at school and they say we have to run at the pace of the slowest.. and that is PS4 and XB1 in this scenario, the game wants to pop, it wants to be next gen but its being held back by tools that are meant to allow it to also run on potato turning machine... sorry i mean a PS4. This video is BS. I have an i7 9700k with an RTX 2070 Super and have had zero of these issues shown. game runs fine, never drop below 60 fps, average of 75-85.
@@05edb I have a lot more mid range PC rx590, ryzen 5 etc. I had one minor glitch and that was it, runing mostly high or ultra settings, it shows game was not ment to be on ps4.

I seriously hope AJ’s official review doesn’t do the basic “It’s a good game without the bugs” route. The AI is absolutely terrible. Enemies can be decent at best, but pedestrian AI all reacts the same way when chaos happens and it’s laughable. Then due to the poor driving AI, they can only drive normal no matter what the situation and cops can’t even give chase because of that AND the fact they simply can’t get in cars for an unscripted car chase. This game is below par beyond glitches. Plus so many other features were either over sold or completely missing.
For me there are two game killers : - zero plot impact and on purpose implemented illusions of choice (different actions = same results) - RPG mechanics are on action game level (don’t affect game play, just boost some stats)

They just had crazy hardworking employees, that did all the legwork, and left the company, leaving CDPR taking all the credit. That would be fine usually, but the company is basically the ship of Theseus, as nobody works in more than 1 project before they leave. Also, they announce and reveal games before they are even made. Witcher 1,2,3 were all revealed with gameplay and shit, yet they games didnt even exist. They literally created the games around the trailers. I knew this game would come out broken, but I never thought it would be fucking incomplete

Bethesda's commitment to supplying mod tools to all their games bar 76 has been commendable and ultimately led to some awesome experiences through multiple playthroughs, people can beat on them all day for "letting the community fix things" but no one else even attempts to do this, I do hope they stop trying to monetize mods in future as Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim & Fallout 4 have collectively provided over a thousand hours of entertainment for me personally, due to their commitment to making open-world sandbox RPG's. Personally, I only wish the best of luck to any developer, that said CDPR have a lot to make up here, I can't see these issues getting fixed in the next 6 months, fingers crossed they can pull a hello games and spend the next 1-2 years fleshing out and fixing this game.

They should have never set that initial April release date and instead set a later date that they’d be absolutely certain they could meet. They seriously shot themselves in the foot.

Give the police AI? There is not a single npc that has AI maybe just A without the I. They do some pathfindfing but if you force them to do something different they just broke down.
Looking at the early demo, honestly maybe it run better on previous console generation, since old demo got way less graphic than current one. Bet they rushed on next gen upgrade and rushed the new version optimization work because they already put an unobtainable deadline for them.

The thing is, I pre-order games because I would buy them anyway, since I never read any review or launch-date news and opinions to go into the game as unbiased as possible from other people's opinions. So there was no reason for me not to pre-order this game since I would have found out about the bugs the hard way anyway.
this was the one game. THE ONE GAME. I have ever preordered a week before release because its CDPR. its not EA, its not Bethesda, its not Ubisoft. But now they have soiled their reputation.
They could’ve. But that’s an alternative timeline path that didn’t happen. Every side has done wrong, the producers and the consumers. Shows how we can improve, and how they can. Don’t see anyone on our side complaining about delaying anymore :))
9 Years of time. Conceptualized during the release of one of the biggest, hands down best, RPG's ever. Skyrim. 9 Years of time. Skyrim, GTA, Saints Row 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, Watch Dogs, RD1, RD2, THE WITCHER 3 THEIR OWN GAME!!?? and a handful of others to pull inspiration from and emulate. 9 Years of time. $120 million made JUST from The Witcher 3 just in 2019. 9 Years of time. $10 million per episode of The Witcher on Netflix. If time was not the problem and money was not the problem how the FUCK did we end up here????????
@@darkdawnbringer From my experience with the Game it should have been 9 years in develepment. But it was more like since Witcher 3 came out 15 around 5 maybe max 6 years depending when they start working on it. But with all the cut content and many Content that is in the game but just a disapointment they should at least have wait for it 2-3 years. I mean i dont realy care about bugs and crashes that has sadly became something normal. But the lack of content is painfull. I realy hope that the next year will see a ton of free content that should be in the Game added. And then i hope for 3-4 bigger Addons where i have no problem to pay for it and then the Game became hopefully what it should be. And if this is done they can start dreaming of MP but the next 2 years should just be focused on fixes and content.

Honestly i'm having a great time with the game, but yes i also look forward to the free dlc we wil be getting. My guess is that they had the first people on it during the end of the release of Witcher 3 or maybe a handfull already a bit longer. Since the Addons where of course by far not the size of the Main Game i doubt that they had all resources focused on them. But sure thats just my guess. Only gamers put up with this shit. No other industry would get away with selling such faulty goods. It's become the norm to accept that all new games are un-finished and will be months/years before they work properly (generally after all the dlc has been sold). Being a fan, supporting from day one, pre-ordering etc should gaurantee a perfect working game, but instead you end up paying full price, getting half the game, most of which is a mess.. whereas if you wait a year or two, you can get the full game, no bugs and pay less. Sadly it won't change as these companies know they can churn out any old rubbish and many will buy it, no matter how buggy it is.
It’s really a reach to say that only gamers put up with this. The only reason it’s so bad with games is because it’s hard to regulate a faulty product when it comes to videogames, whereas actual tangible products are quite obvious when they’re broken or cause harm, and have actual regulation behind it. A game that’s glitchy will always be less dangerous and a lower priority than a piece of tech that’ll explode or furniture that’ll break and injure you. A lot of people are urging those who bought this game to refund it, and people are doing just that. It’s hardly complete complacency when everyone is hounding CDPR and they’re facing repercussions for what they’ve done to their fans and their employees.

RichD It’s a shame but games are getting more complex and gaining more and more moving parts. I see a lot of people compare games now to games in the early 2000’s where they were often less buggy or you actually had to try and break the game to get it to break, even though those games didn’t have a tenth the detail and scope that newer games have. Also it seems that publishers have OCD with releasing games during certain parts of the year, and will curtail a ton of development and work to push it out right when it’ll sell most. Back when gaming was spread more by word of mouth than huge marketing campaigns there wasn’t the pressure to push the game out and devs could actually polish their games, and there was much less game also to polish. I know you didn’t bring any of this up, it’s just something that I’ve seen a lot of and wanted to talk about as well. If it’ll get better or worse going forward, only time will tell, but with anything it’s important to manage your expectations and accept the reality of things you can’t hope to change. Would I like games to come out airtight, with almost no bugs and come out smoothly? Yes. But without games becoming much simpler, or with the reality of profit incentive not changing and clashing with development... I don’t expect that it’ll be a reality for most big releases for quite a while.
@@SomeOne-vf1rs A victim of their own success really. The games industry became so successful in such a short space of time and now out performs the movie and music industry combined. With that success comes more money and more investment, bigger projects and therefore more corporate control. Sadly it's the corporate control, or publishers, who often are outside of the industry and just see everything as profit margins for shareholders. They don't understand or often even care about the development schedule and just set a project plan which has a start and end date, with a cost for the whole lot. That push from them is what we see here with games rushed out to meet release dates and the view that whatever the problems are will be fixed later... just as long as it's in the stores before the holiday period, so to speak. Hollywood is very much the same with investors coming from the outside of the industry and only focused on profits and release dates, and often only really interested in established ideas or sequels/reboots. I don't see any of this changing as games become bigger and they need those huge budgets, and in order to secure those budgets they need the backing from many who only want gauranteed release dates and profits. The problem is also the consumer who simply doesn't want to wait for the product to be perfect and will express their anger if said game is delayed. All said and done though, it is still the consumer who can call the shots here. We can decide to stop pre-ordering and start demanding better quality, but by doing so we have to allow the developers the time they need, so have to accept delays. Double edged sword I guess; which do you prefer - having years of hype and then being let down when there's another year of delays, or getting the game on time but having to experience problems until it's all sorted many months later. Off topic, refreshing to air a viewpoint and have a civilised conversation about it - it's an art form that's sadly missing a lot lately, so cheers. :)
RichD Very true. Tho most people were alright with waiting for this game. The anger we saw from the delays came from being pushed around and given 5 different release dates that all went out the window as the publishers realized just how far from done the game was. If consumers weren’t being lead on a leash through the whole development process, there wouldn’t even be half the annoyance and hate from the delays. If cdpr never said anything about it, and the game released a year from now and was finished, people wouldn’t be angry about the wait and wouldn’t have delays to complain about. It is true that people who pander don’t help at all. And I saw some people defending CDPR’s horrible management of the game’s release, but most people are angry and disappointed and recognize a lot of what we’ve talked about.
I blame myself too. This was the first time in a looong time I pre ordered a game, digital too (I never do that). And of course, with my bumfuck luck, the game releases in a broken fucked up state, and Sony won't issue me a refund. 65 dollars poof, gone, and by the time they fix it the game will be 20 bucks. The last thing I want is wasting money and TIME during a damn pandemic. I have huge buyers remorse, and the sunk cost fallacy is making me still play it because I don't want my money to go to waste. Thanks CDPR. Thanks Sony customer support.
If they took more time to develop the game and delay it, people are still gonna whine and make slanderous accusations of this game never getting a release ever and threatening to boycott and blacklist the company like a bunch of impatient children and possibly unjustifiably bombing the game when the game releases once it’s actually complete instead of having CDPR give into all the pressure. EDIT: My three big disappointments are TLOU2, Avengers game and Cyberpunk 2077. I haven't been disappointed much in previous years. 2018 and 2019 were pretty good for me in that most games I was looking forward to ended up being good.
Example: RDR2, Hitman 2, Spider-Man, Death Stranding, etc. This year it's been disappointment after disappointment for me.

If you hype something up so much while making big promises, and then delay it multiple times, a response like that from the fans should be expected, even if it's unwarranted. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. CDPR knew exactly what the response would be. This was 100% their decision and they made it for business reasons, like any other company. They deserve the blame. If EA did the same thing, there would be a mass outcry far bigger than this.

CD Projekt lied about everything. Game obviously was not meant for 9th gen consoles. This game is not an RPG. This game does not have an immersive and alive open world, it does not even have a proper AI system. Misleading trailers, polished promotional images etc, those are one thing, lying about every single aspect about your game is another. I have never seen anything like this before.
Features missing in this game missing, which would make this an RPG:
- deep, meaningful choices (yeah, nope! Not really!)
- diverging story paths (nope, not there!)
- building deep relationships with other characters (nope, not there! Frankly the only character you half-way build a relationship with is your romance and frankly those are lacking as well, especially in variety! There's one straight one per gender and one for gay people per gender...buh, fucking, who! Mass Effect did this better than you CDPR!)
- Interactive City (not really, you can't even sit on a damn bench unless the story demands it!)
- City-Simulation that reacts to the player, their deeds, reputation! (Not in the game either, hell the basic AI-Package for the pedestrians and drivers is laughable! Cars don't go around if you park on the road! People run away in a panick if you do double jumps around them etc. etc.)
None of that is in the game! You see remnants here and there in quests that they showed off over the years, but even there most of those systems aren't working!
Frankly They lied to us up to release, so IMHO they commited fraud. The bugs are IMHO a minor issue! It is the design-choices, which they probably will not change as they'd have to go back to the drawing board and re-write the whole story etc., that really make this a bad game!
And how are they gonna fix the fact that your life path literally doesn’t affect your story? None of the character choices make any kind of a “major” impact like they talked about! The AIs are ammo sponges and it takes multiple headshots to take them out. Vehicle control is ridiculous. There’s just so much wrong with the game. There is absolutely no attention to detail. I didn’t have any expectations as such but the game itself is half-baked. I hope it’s not too much to expect the water to splash when I shoot at it? The game released in 2020 and several games from a few years ago are simply better. The world looks fantastic but only on the outside. The only reason we fell to their hype was due to the legacy of witcher 3. CD Projekt release prior to witcher 3 like witcher and witcher 2 were mediocre games.
Their argument that ps 4 and xbox one are having poor hardware is baseless since Red dead redemption 2, ghost of tsushima and last of us 2 ran much better on ps4 than cyberpunk running on pc.

Gosh, everybody’s complaining about the bugs and glitches when the real issue is missing content. If this was bug-free, it’d still be a disappointment.

- You go down to certain districts, and you see the same exact cars all through the area (Rayfield Caliburns ALL throughout city center... really?)
- No car customization, no apartment customization (“V’s apartment plays a ‘central role’ in the story” hilarious), no roleplaying whatsoever, no buying apartments or any indication of rising through the ranks of Night City except for a green number on a screen.
- Godawful NPC AI, dead-feeling city with nothing to do other than missions (remember when they said this was the most alive city in a video game?)
- 20-30 hour story. They said it’d be a little shorter than the Witcher in terms of content, and that’s true if your idea of “content” is going to blue dots on a map to kill NPCs and collect shit off their dead bodies. I played almost all side missions and gigs, and by the time the story was done, the side stuff all felt pointless. Imagine playing a couple of main story missions without doing what I did: You’d be done with the game in a couple of days with nothing left to do.
- No wall-jumping mantis blades and etc.
- No more than two joytoys
- No venues you can hang out in

- No public transportation system or open parking lots in a city the size of Night City 👍🏻
- In 2077, society abandoned barbers. No ability to change our style.
And missing core gameplay mechanic such as ai and details.
But it would be more playable!

They had a lot of talk about character customization, but honestly it was so disappointing and half asses. No body types or anything to really handcraft a unique character. The gameplay is trash too. Skyrim, a game that’s about 10 years old has a world thats more alive than cyberpunk.

Tbh it probably would have been a better game if they cut Keanu out. I understand that he was a huge part of it and everyone was excited that he was included, however I'm sure he alone was a huge part of their budget for this game and had they not focused on him, they would have had more resources to actually include much of what they had cut out. (People seem to be forgetting that exact point also).. if we didnt have to have the game relying on newly never built before tech to accompany for absolutely outdated shitty consoles cause they cant handle next gen, then we would have a next gen title that runs just fine because it wouldlnt have to go at the pace of the slowest.. its like running track at school and they say we have to run at the pace of the slowest.. and that is PS4 and XB1 in this scenario, the game wants to pop, it wants to be next gen but its being held back by tools that are meant to allow it to also run on potato turning machine... sorry i mean a PS4. This video is BS. I have an i7 9700k with an RTX 2070 Super and have had zero of these issues shown. game runs fine, never drop below 60 fps, average of 75-85.

I seriously hope AJ’s official review doesn’t do the basic “It’s a good game without the bugs” route. The AI is absolutely terrible. Enemies can be decent at best, but pedestrian AI all reacts the same way when chaos happens and it’s laughable. Then due to the poor driving AI, they can only drive normal no matter what the situation and cops can’t even give chase because of that AND the fact they simply can’t get in cars for an unscripted car chase. This game is below par beyond glitches. Plus so many other features were either over sold or completely missing.
For me there are two game killers :
- zero plot impact and on purpose implemented illusions of choice (different actions = same results)
- RPG mechanics are on action game level (don’t affect game play, just boost some stats)

They just had crazy hardworking employees, that did all the legwork, and left the company, leaving CDPR taking all the credit. Bethesda's commitment to supplying mod tools to all their games bar 76 has been commendable and ultimately led to some awesome experiences through multiple playthroughs, people can beat on them all day for "letting the community fix things" but no one else even attempts to do this, I do hope they stop trying to monetize mods in future as Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim & Fallout 4 have collectively provided over a thousand hours of entertainment for me personally, due to their commitment to making open-world sandbox RPG's.
Personally, I only wish the best of luck to any developer, that said CDPR have a lot to make up here, I can't see these issues getting fixed in the next 6 months, fingers crossed they can pull a hello games and spend the next 1-2 years fleshing out and fixing this game.

The thing is, I pre-order games because I would buy them anyway, since I never read any review or launch-date news and opinions to go into the game as unbiased as possible from other people's opinions.
So there was no reason for me not to pre-order this game since I would have found out about the bugs the hard way anyway.

From my experience with the Game it should have been 9 years in develepment. But it was more like since Witcher 3 came out 15 around 5 maybe max 6 years depending when they start working on it. But with all the cut content and many Content that is in the game but just a disapointment they should at least have wait for it 2-3 years.
I mean i dont realy care about bugs and crashes that has sadly became something normal. But the lack of content is painfull. I realy hope that the next year will see a ton of free content that should be in the Game added. And then i hope for 3-4 bigger Addons where i have no problem to pay for it and then the Game became hopefully what it should be. And if this is done they can start dreaming of MP but the next 2 years should just be focused on fixes and content.
@@susakuzero They started work on it after they finshed the dlc for the witcher 3, so that's 4 years (less then half of what the op claims).
Honestly i'm having a great time with the game, but yes i also look forward to the free dlc we wil be getting.

Yeah i knew this. But i guess that working or at least planing begann sooner. My guess is that they had the first people on it during the end of the release of Witcher 3 or maybe a handfull already a bit longer. Since the Addons where of course by far not the size of the Main Game i doubt that they had all resources focused on them. But sure thats just my guess. But the real focus for the whole team defently begann after Blood and Wine.

Only gamers put up with this shit. No other industry would get away with selling such faulty goods. It's become the norm to accept that all new games are un-finished and will be months/years before they work properly (generally after all the dlc has been sold). Being a fan, supporting from day one, pre-ordering etc should gaurantee a perfect working game, but instead you end up paying full price, getting half the game, most of which is a mess.. whereas if you wait a year or two, you can get the full game, no bugs and pay less. Sadly it won't change as these companies know they can churn out any old rubbish and many will buy it, no matter how buggy it is.
It’s really a reach to say that only gamers put up with this. The only reason it’s so bad with games is because it’s hard to regulate a faulty product when it comes to videogames, whereas actual tangible products are quite obvious when they’re broken or cause harm, and have actual regulation behind it. A game that’s glitchy will always be less dangerous and a lower priority than a piece of tech that’ll explode or furniture that’ll break and injure you. A lot of people are urging those who bought this game to refund it, and people are doing just that. It’s hardly complete complacency when everyone is hounding CDPR and they’re facing repercussions for what they’ve done to their fans and their employees.
@@SomeOne-vf1rs yeah good points but I do feel we accept faults in games more than anything else, partly due to the fact we've had many years of products coming out and being fixed with updates. Its become the norm and pretty much expected that a new game will have bugs... but don't worry as it'll get fixed in time. These days the surprise isn't having bugs, but how many bugs.
RichD It’s a shame but games are getting more complex and gaining more and more moving parts. I see a lot of people compare games now to games in the early 2000’s where they were often less buggy or you actually had to try and break the game to get it to break, even though those games didn’t have a tenth the detail and scope that newer games have. Also it seems that publishers have OCD with releasing games during certain parts of the year, and will curtail a ton of development and work to push it out right when it’ll sell most. Back when gaming was spread more by word of mouth than huge marketing campaigns there wasn’t the pressure to push the game out and devs could actually polish their games, and there was much less game also to polish. I know you didn’t bring any of this up, it’s just something that I’ve seen a lot of and wanted to talk about as well. If it’ll get better or worse going forward, only time will tell, but with anything it’s important to manage your expectations and accept the reality of things you can’t hope to change. Would I like games to come out airtight, with almost no bugs and come out smoothly? Yes. But without games becoming much simpler, or with the reality of profit incentive not changing and clashing with development... I don’t expect that it’ll be a reality for most big releases for quite a while.
@@SomeOne-vf1rs A victim of their own success really. The games industry became so successful in such a short space of time and now out performs the movie and music industry combined. With that success comes more money and more investment, bigger projects and therefore more corporate control. Sadly it's the corporate control, or publishers, who often are outside of the industry and just see everything as profit margins for shareholders. They don't understand or often even care about the development schedule and just set a project plan which has a start and end date, with a cost for the whole lot. That push from them is what we see here with games rushed out to meet release dates and the view that whatever the problems are will be fixed later... just as long as it's in the stores before the holiday period, so to speak. Hollywood is very much the same with investors coming from the outside of the industry and only focused on profits and release dates, and often only really interested in established ideas or sequels/reboots. I don't see any of this changing as games become bigger and they need those huge budgets, and in order to secure those budgets they need the backing from many who only want gauranteed release dates and profits. The problem is also the consumer who simply doesn't want to wait for the product to be perfect and will express their anger if said game is delayed. All said and done though, it is still the consumer who can call the shots here. We can decide to stop pre-ordering and start demanding better quality, but by doing so we have to allow the developers the time they need, so have to accept delays. Double edged sword I guess; which do you prefer - having years of hype and then being let down when there's another year of delays, or getting the game on time but having to experience problems until it's all sorted many months later. Off topic, refreshing to air a viewpoint and have a civilised conversation about it - it's an art form that's sadly missing a lot lately, so cheers. :)
RichD Very true. Tho most people were alright with waiting for this game. The anger we saw from the delays came from being pushed around and given 5 different release dates that all went out the window as the publishers realized just how far from done the game was. If consumers weren’t being lead on a leash through the whole development process, there wouldn’t even be half the annoyance and hate from the delays. If cdpr never said anything about it, and the game released a year from now and was finished, people wouldn’t be angry about the wait and wouldn’t have delays to complain about. It is true that people who pander don’t help at all. And I saw some people defending CDPR’s horrible management of the game’s release, but most people are angry and disappointed and recognize a lot of what we’ve talked about.

I blame myself too. This was the first time in a looong time I pre ordered a game, digital too (I never do that).
And of course, with my bumfuck luck, the game releases in a broken fucked up state, and Sony won't issue me a refund. 65 dollars poof, gone, and by the time they fix it the game will be 20 bucks. The last thing I want is wasting money and TIME during a damn pandemic. I have huge buyers remorse, and the sunk cost fallacy is making me still play it because I don't want my money to go to waste. Thanks CDPR. Thanks Sony customer support.

If they took more time to develop the game and delay it, people are still gonna whine and make slanderous accusations of this game never getting a release ever and threatening to boycott and blacklist the company like a bunch of impatient children and possibly unjustifiably bombing the game when the game releases once it’s actually complete instead of having CDPR give into all the pressure. It feels like a lose-lose situation here.

I’ve been gaming for almost 3 decades, and this has to be one of the biggest hyped up disappointments of a game release I’ve seen. It’s obvious this studio had a very hard time trying to figure out how to make this game work, and might never totally figure it out. Bad look for CDPR.
