Hi thank you for the very detailed video. You are very talented. I was wondering if a certain ascendant falls in a specific natal house, is that house theme highlighted for that year? Mine Solar ascendant falls in my natal 8th house does it mean it will a year of losses? Thank you in advance and please keep continuing your great work ❤️
What if we want to have the opposite kind of year that our solar return chart shows? Will we have difficulty if we try to "change" it? Example... 4th house solar return but wants to travel abroad. Would my travel end up being hindered, bad things happen etc? More prone to issues arising if we go "against the grain" so to speak?
My natal Sun is 24 degrees Aquarius in the 7th house. This year my solar return falls the day before my birthday, which is my youngest child's 18th birthday, February 12th. My youngest is technically turning into an adult the same day my solar return starts, and puts my Sun in the 5th house. It's a bit confusing because in my natal chart the SN is in the fifth house. I suppose letting go of control of the last child. But if I'm meant to release the fifth house it seems odd my Sun would be there for the solar return.
I use Placidus, but it is your choice. Do you feel you are outgoing and self-oriented and want to make an impression? If so perhaps it's in the 1st house. If you feel you want to retreat and be alone more, then it may be in the 12th house.
I wouldn't say that solar return charts are better than secondary progressions. They are different forecasting techniques, solar returns use the direct forecasting method and secondary progressions are indirect forecasting. Solar returns come from the transits up there right now, and your secondary progressed chart shows how the potential of your life has unfolded from the original planetary placements in your birth chart. I believe the best way to forecast in astrology is to use a combination of forecasting techniques. Typically, I take transits (and eclipses) as 50%, secondary progressions as 25%, solar returns as 15% and solar arc directions as 10% of my forecasting information for each chart. I use all four methods in my practice. If you build up your forecast details in layers, as outlined here, you find that that one system reinforces, and almost underlines, the same type of information in another. This gives more credibility to the message in the forecast and makes it easier to be confident about a particular theme that may develop. Thanks for watching. ⭐️
I have been using SR charts for the past 60 years. I think Alison's videos are a very worthwhile introduction. I don't think they are better than Progressions, they are different. Since the time of Morin, great proponent of Solar Returns, these charts have never been used on there own but in conjunction with some other form of direction. Morin used Primary Directions, while William Lilly used Primaries plus Profections. Ronald Davison used Secondary Directions (ie progressions) in conjunction with Solar Returns, as did Alexandre Volguine. Many modern astrologers employ the Solar Return alone, apart from adding transits. I feel they miss a lot.
If the solar ascendant is 5 degrees behind the natal 11th house cusp would that still be interpreted as being in the 10th house or is it now in the 11th?
Your Solar Return chart planet's positions remain the same for the whole year, although there will be transits to your Solar Return chart as to your Birth chart. I hope this helps. ⭐️

I read on the net, that we must take two consecutive year's SR chart and then calculate transit speeds in the two charts. Then see when conjunctions happen

Why is mine forever fixed at 12th house Aries??
It isn't. Your Solar Return chart changes every year. ⭐️

Arson still in the 10th house. I never use “cusp creep” as a planet or point reaches the end of a sign or house. Thanks for watching. ⭐️

What did you mean by solar return, new moon year? Its important? Did you mean that it would be important if its a new moon on our solar return?
