Hey C.B I though commercial buildings required copper and no HUB , I only say that Bc on the few commercial jobs I been on like for USPS offices on Long Island that’s what my pops said I had to use
Only one question cb on allot of video’s when the cast iron drain is replace you dont do the complete drain in the netherlands we do when we vind cast iron everything is replaced for pvc or Pé black drain
Starting my first commercial plumbing job with absolutely zero experience in a couple weeks. Any advice on what I should expect on my first few days and is it worth sticking out in the long run?
Did you wait until you had your masters license before you went on your own? Idk how it is in your state but in AL we can go on our own with a journeyman’s license.
In Jersey you cannot go on your own. Im talking about having your own biz too.....of course you went on your own to do work for your licensed boss when employed.
I work as a plumber for 2 year now and i do plumbing services comercials and new construction it's a beautiful field of working but from my knoldge in commercial inspection dosen't pass the pex and pvc pipes it has be only cooper and no hub.
Im really not into pex but if i were to do large consistent amount of it I would invest in that...I still may. I do have a rather large job coming next..I hoping to use copper.
Hey Chuck, what are your thoughts on pre-apprenticship programs for people with no plumbing experience wanting to get into the trade? Companies are only looking for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th yr app exp here in Toronto, CA. Thanks for another great video!
maybe ok if ya cannot lock down an entry level job. Local trade school to get your feet wet cannot hurt for sure especially if jobs are tight in your area.
I may need to move to your area. I’m a plumber here in the state of Utah. I counted 9 violations that would have been illegal over here. Looks good though.
I didn’t mean to come off as a troll. It takes a lot of time to position camera angles and editing videos is not always the most fun thing to do. I was just pointing out how interesting it is to see plumbing code and what Is aloud in different areas.
Like the music in the background. Where did you come up with the idea of adding music. Notice all your videos have music. I like hearing it. JIMMY Warren, Michigan
Hey CB1, 1st year apprentice here, question for you, why do you use ABS instead of PVC DWV? Is there some characteristic of it that makes it better for Jersey, I am in Kentucky?
ha...true story, my first boss says while we are in crawl space what happens when you have no sand cloth to clean? im like out to truck i go...no he grabs a hand full of dirt cleans pipe with it and flux's it ....lol.....true story.
Shouldn't this project be done in no hub cast iron? Looks like a plenum ceiling ... In NJ any commercial building with a plenum ceiling dwv must be of a non combustible material such as no hub cast iron or copper.... sorry man I am curious
I aint gotta do that sleeve dealio on the abs plastic in my area. seems like a waste of pipe. love seeing you guys doing commercial, that's my bread and butter KEEP IT UP DADDY
Your videos are getting better . I like the voice overs . I like the music to . it would be better if you could do more close-ups of what you're actually doing . you also need to edit out the uninteresting parts
Kind of surprised by the “no Ppe” approach when popping your head up in a T bar ceiling with existing utilities near by. But to each their own? (Commercial plumber journeyman here)
I enjoy this show man big time. I’m also a plumber and I’m a mechanical engineering major. I keep seeing buildings that I service with plans stamped by licensed Professional Engineers. If those engineers would of been plumbers or tradesmen first they would know how to properly size (know the codes) for the drainlines, gas lines, mains etc and properly design a system that has isolation valves and access to those places on housing units in huge residential complexes. So we don’t have to rip apart the structural integrity of a building every time someone has a issue. I work for a great company which encourages their plumbers to go to school, be involved with our communities and be a badass in everything. I get asked why you going to college? Simple because I want to. Your very wise CB for allowing CB2 to pursue education in business. I work with 180 other badasses that are in the Trade, Service and Repair fixing new construction fuckups since day one of the build. LoL, \m/.
CB2 rubbing his eyes after touching the sewer line with no gloves 🧤 come on daddy O.. You ever use Upanor A pex? Stuffs awesome... check it out. Also the pump that you’re putting on the sewer how many feet can it pump up? Surfs up brah 🏄🤙😎🤑💰🧤
Its a blue angle pump system i think.. I did the same thing in another job...works great when stuck with no drains or you don't want to cut up a ton of concrete for a simple hand sink. I missed the surf all week....bummed out. lol
cb, I dunno, not loving this new format... you had better camera in angles and lighting in a crawl space!! with all the editing, we loose the "hey cb!!!!"
its only for this job....the noise and radio so frigging loud that i would have to yell over them....crawl space work so warm and fuzzy for plumbers..lol
Chuck I sent a message to your fb page from the apprentice hack group. If you have time, check it for me. Could use some advice/encouragement. Thanks. Big fan of your vids.
I been a apprentice for 2 years now my boss wants me to spread my wings , I got a job next week I have to do on my own . wish me luck :)
When I think of large commercial, I remember the jobs with at least 300 plumbers onsite.
ya this was a lil commercial gig.
Dam never worked on something with so many plumbers at once seems cool
300 plumbers??? That would be a lot of Egos!!!lol lol
Definitely. NYC Perfect For That. 🙏😮💨😇☯️
ABS!! Man I haven’t used that stuff in a long long time! Brings back good memories. You could bend a 20 footer into an 8’ wall 😂 cheers boys!
Oh hell ya. like rubber it bends.

Is ABS code up in AC?
indeed.
love the voice overs now CB1
Only one question cb on allot of video’s when the cast iron drain is replace you dont do the complete drain in the netherlands we do when we vind cast iron everything is replaced for pvc or Pé black drain
ya know most of these repairs and keep em going ect. Every once and while depending on job we will replace all of the drains.
What was the tool you used to connect the pex to the copper line?
Starting my first commercial plumbing job with absolutely zero experience in a couple weeks. Any advice on what I should expect on my first few days and is it worth sticking out in the long run?
Tape and pencil and ditch the cell phone brother. Get er done.
Be prepared to do alot of bitch work lol definitely worth it in the long run tho

Nice work team Cb, enjoy the rough in videos. Cb2 is going to have some good experience in service as well as new construction.
yes and I do not do much new work at all anymore.

Hey Chuck great video 15 year plumber here in MD big fan of you guys so you guys are allowed to run a ABS in an open plenum ceiling in your state?
Not in return area's for hvac if thats what you mean. Open drop ceilings yes.
Your an inspiration for everyone in the plumbing industry. Keep it up my man 💪
thanks Jon....we doing it.
I may need to move to your area. I’m a plumber here in the state of Utah. I counted 9 violations that would have been illegal over here. Looks good though.
Nobody asked
ok....and they are? Im curious. I know each state is so different..but plumbing is plumbing..thanks snow.
good one d....ha
I thought Jersey had stiff plumbing codes... that's what I always heard
I didn’t mean to come off as a troll. It takes a lot of time to position camera angles and editing videos is not always the most fun thing to do. I was just pointing out how interesting it is to see plumbing code and what Is aloud in different areas.

Hey CB1, 1st year apprentice here, question for you, why do you use ABS instead of PVC DWV? Is there some characteristic of it that makes it better for Jersey, I am in Kentucky?
Just a personal preference. I have access to both here and always worked with it since my first year in plumbing 34 years ago....ha
@@ChuckBarron 34 years ago?!?! Wasn't that when they still had wood pipes and cork fire plugs? LOL Just kidding, thanks for responding.

also what cutters 10:45 @cb2
ridgid cutters..they work great on 1 1/2 and 2" pipe...sharp blade better of course and cut slow if pipe is cold.
Hey cb here from Amsterdam the netherlands like the video’s man here are also the Good the bad and the ugly stuff 👊🏻
Amsterdam In Da House! Everyday Plumbing for sure.
That Primer Burns
glue is painless till you peel it off......killer

Abs and pvc are both considered combustible materials.... plus did you run a vent for pump pit?
abs passed and pump was vented. great eye plumber.
don't care for the audio dubbing, like the more personal touch
appreciate the input. i really don't either i was forced to do this...there is a sense of disconnection in vid....I agree.
Chuck Barron I agree
I agree too. but great work on this job !
I aint gotta do that sleeve dealio on the abs plastic in my area. seems like a waste of pipe. love seeing you guys doing commercial, that's my bread and butter KEEP IT UP DADDY
my luck the inspector would pick up on that.
Yeah can use isolation tape 10ml 20ml or a large plastic stand off strap

@@ChuckBarron all you need to do is cut out everything but the most important part most of the time each shot should be no more than 30 seconds long
That Cast to Cast no-hub connector is gonna be your undoing. that plastic adapter was way to big for it. Should have use a cast to plastic mission.
