    One of the more rugged and remote ranges in the Adirondacks. I was glad to be able to hit all 4 peaks. It was a test of my mental toughness and decision making to complete the hike in a safe manner.

    Wow - that is a super impressive day. When I read the title I just assumed you would have done this with an overnight. It is amazing that you did all that in one day, in the winter! I really appreciate the honesty in the video too.

      It was a long day, but I am glad I decided to include Seymour. I just finished my winter 46er a few weeks ago, check out the video: th-cam.com/video/nHjLpLWnJ6o/w-d-xo.html

    Book titles in the background?
    Happy Hiking.

      Right, I was geeking out a bit with a book called Range by David Epstein. Thanks for watching

      Been busy hiking and paddling whitewater in the middle of the WNY Hiking Challenge launching. More videos soon! I have a HaBaSa+Big Slide sunrise in queue.

    That is a long day in the summer!! Excellent video. The Donaldson sign has been gone since July. I did that route twice last summer, and both times, no Donaldson, and I had to fix the Seymour sign, must be gone now. Bummer.

      It was a long day, but worth it. The changing weather made it more challenging and slowed me down on Seymour. Glad to know the signs were iffy. I know the snow pack buries them sometimes. I was standing on top of the Santanoni sign a week later. Thanks for watching and the comment

    Great hike! I knew you would get all four. We did it last fall. My friend became the first 46er of our group on Seymour. The Donaldson sign was missing then.

      Thanks, in winter you need to be more conservative with your decision making as the risks are higher. And being solo, I was not going to take any chances unless the conditions dictated. Luckily it all came together on Seward, so I could push to Seymour. Thanks for the comment and watching!

    Good job of first massive solo winter 46er. Summit snow covered footage was grand. Good to see you pushed thru the final dark, tired, lonely, final "death march". It will certainly build some mental muscle memory for the next big adventure. Cheers

      Thanks it was a long day, but we are used to that. I am glad I could knock these out so that we can finish next season on Gothics. Looking forward to it.

      Thanks, it was some effort to include Seymour but was so worth it. See you outside!

    Have you ever encountered anything strange in the Adirondacks?

    • @OutsideChronicles
      @OutsideChronicles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not know if I would say strange but definitely interesting. On my sons’ first high peak, a guy wore a kilt and played bagpipes on the summit.

      @@OutsideChronicles love it! What a coincidental way to greet a young person to high peaks! Kelt and pipes - awesome! 💚👍

    Snowshoes on?. Nvm I see them on

    • @OutsideChronicles
      @OutsideChronicles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, snowshoes are required in the High Peaks with >8in of snow (changing to >12in in the new rules). I had them on the whole time except for when it got steep on Seymour. Then I switched to microspikes.
