This game promised the best goalkeepers of the tournament (Earps vs. Frohms), the best defenders (Millie Bright vs. Marina Hegering) and the best scoring machines (Beth Mead vs. Alexandra Popp). Then I felt gutted for Germany after hearing Popp was injured. But hey, they still had Klara Bühl, Jule Brand, Lea Schüller. The game itself great goals, great saves and a deserved winner determined in extra time. October 25 will be the re-match. Too bad, no Popp and no Hegering. But curious about the new names and what they will bring. Good to see the women's game develop so rapidly.
