Even Allison, Ederson, Chourtois, and the best of the past goalies make split second decisions that look ridiculous..(this wasnt one, btw)...EVERY goalkeeper has these moments...the key is, (and the best manage it), is to do them few and far between, and Mary Earps is one of these, way way waaay too harsh man! You've never played in goal, obviously! You ALWAYS have your knees bent, as you can spring in whatever direction easier, you play the odds, and in that move, the odds were WAY higher, that the ball would go low, not high into the roof. She'd have had no chance of dropping low to the ground, and wouldve looked even worse, if she'd stayed low, so she was in the PERFECT position, but just got done by a point blank PERFECT finish, thats was so close to her, she had no real time to react. A penalty is way further away from the goal, and you still dont have time to wait and see what side its going and dive that way, and if you actually try, The ball's past you and in the net before you even start to dive! Thats why goalies do research on the takers, pick a side and hope for the best! Thats 12 yards away...the German goal was what? 6 yards away at best!...Jeeez dude, have some empathy and show some common sense! It's her biggest match, a euro final, in front of your own fans, shes trying to do the best she can under immense pressure, made some good saves and you feel youve the right to use the word "terrible". You should be ashamed of yourself.
