I'm a guy, and I never knew it took girls this long to put their make-up. Just to look their best, I appreciate it now.
Most girls don't wear this kind of makeup, or if they do they use it only for nights out. A normal makeup should take 20-30 mins max.

Well I think she doesn't do all the baking and stuff, eyelashes and eyeshadow. The only think she does (I think) is mascara, foundation, eyeliner, blush, concealer and brows. They did a lot more in this clip

I actually think the best thing about makeup as an art form is that it doesn't last forever. There is something really beautiful about spending all that time and effort into something that will be gone at the end of the day.

I did Instagram makeup to my aunt a few years back. I did everything, eyebrows, eyeshadow, contour and concealer. The next morning she told me it was the BEST makeup she ever had. The whole night she only had to reapply the lipstick. Everything else was perfect the night. Since then I've been the family hair and makeup person.
Here's a sequel to this story. That same aunt was invited to a wedding last year. She ask me a month in advance to do her hair and makeup. No backup plan but me. On the day of the wedding, my mom told me to go for an hour to eat their food. Just an hour before the wedding started, my aunt insulted my clothes. Called me an idiot and overall being entitled. When I told her I wasn't going to the wedding she said, fine just make me look perfect. Take a wild guess if I did her made her up. Everyone agreed that it was her fault for insulting me and not having a backup plan. I went to a nice restaurant with my bro and sis.

Drinking lots of water and sticking to a solid skincare routine that works for you is honestly the best you can do. Thats what im working on rn, cause i typically fall back on makeup and use it as a crutch to cover up blemishes. But i want to get to a point where i can just do brows and lashes and be ready for the day lol. Good luck!!

Whenever I watch the old ladylike videos, I'm always reminded of how Sad used to 'carry' them. I find out of all the girls, she was the best at talking to the audience, and I think that's why her youtube channel has been so successful. I think the other woman in ladylike have developed and become better at this, but Saf for sure had it down pack from day 1.

I know, it's crazy to go back and see how far they've come. Now they basically do IG makeup on the daily. Except for eyeshadow for some reason. Eyeshadow was a must when I was growing up and it's the most fun part of makeup to me! It's so creative and fun!

I think the point of the video is how challenging Instagram make-up is, especially when introduced to people who do not do this on a daily basis. Which is why they had a workshop with an expert, and then they had to include it in their personal time.
Everyone would look fabulous with an Instagram if they had 3 hours to do it daily.

Even if I had the time to do all that in the morning, I wouldn't. My daily makeup is very minimal: sunscreen, brows, mascara, bronzer and lipstick, gloss or chapstick. You should only bake if you have normal to oily skin tho. If you have dry skin don't don't dooonn't bake. It just intensifies the dry

at_raddi have you ever tried doing a paper mask at night 2 times a week and the other nights after washing your face, applying jojoba oil and tamanu or Rose hips oil? it helps hydrate my skin.

My brows are naturally very asymmetrical. They're not sisters, they're not cousins, they don't even seem to know each other. If I wanted symmetrical brows, I'd have to completely cover & conceal one, and re-draw it over top. Maybe the makeup artist is the same way.

I use to wear make up everyday and when I took off my makeup my eyes just looked so dark and what not. I stopped wearing makeup for a month and omg I love my bare face now ahahha
DianaDidIt yeah i guess the pigmentation do stick around even tho we remove them with makeup remover. I dont wear eyeshadows on a daily basis just eyeliner and they are still dark after removal

Either your make up remover is ineffective or you have dark pigmentation around your eyes naturally and got used to it after few days of not wearing make up.
I stopped wearing mascara for the same reason but I still do the rest of my face! My lashes a pretty long and dark so I just curl them

I need your skills, like legit it take me 30 minutes to do my eyebrows(my eyebrows are the one thing I have to make sure is on fleek) then I throw on some mascara and highlight. All together it take me like 40 minutes

I see you're a little short sighted when it comes to seeing things from other people's perspective. Try broadening your mind a bit and you might be able to see how it took them that long. If you still can't see then broaden some more until you realize that not everyone is an expert or even sufficient at everything, especially makeup and condescending comments like that make you sound ignorant.
469ka37 Here's the thing, even as a beginner I didn't take three hours because I wasn't getting paid to sit around and play with makeup. So you can take your condescending comments elsewhere. I only have half an hour to do my makeup, so I make it work within that time. Which is what it seems like a lot of people in the comments agree with.
