    Thank you! I lost a recipe for a similar dish pre-internet time but there were pepper rings rather than onions. Now I can make it again!

      I remember a pork chop w/rice that a friend made for us when I had my first son. He’s 51 now. I too top my pork chops with a thick slice of onion and a ring of bell pepper. I add a can of diced tomatoes. I still love it. I’m making it tonight. 😋🍅

    Lady you got some soul in you. I added some dash seasoning vice salt, 1 can cream of celery, 1 1/2 cup of water and yellow rice. Turned out great. Thanks for sharing.

    Have you tried that recipe in the insta pot

    • @paulalanier4772
      @paulalanier4772 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I haven’t. It should do fine since you are essentially slow cooking it in the oven.

    • @ronnichols4664
      @ronnichols4664 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it look like a fucking instapot recipe?? NO!! are you a fucking instapot salesman??? who knows you fucking loser. it's baked porked chops and rice. you cook it in the oven in a fucking casserole dish covered with tin foil and you leave it at that. all you need to know is the oven temperature and how long. which she covered beautifully. if you wanna cook shit in your instapot then google that recipe you fucking loser!!

    Can you use cream of mushroom soup instead?

    • @paulalanier7982
      @paulalanier7982 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but you might need to add more liquid or some beef or chicken broth.

    I wonder if brown rice wild cook all the way through. 🤔

    • @paulalanier4772
      @paulalanier4772 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think it would since brown rice takes a good bit longer to cook.

      @@paulalanier4772 So start it with the rice and liquids for the difference in time, then add the chops and seasonings like normal.

    Everybody always says to wash rice before you cook it. Did you have to do that?

    • @kitcheninthecountry68
      @kitcheninthecountry68  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did not. We have never heard of washing rice before cooking it.

    My rice didnt cook all the way thru and it was soupy..should I have cooked it longer?

    • @paulalanier7982
      @paulalanier7982 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Did you cover it with foil? Not all ovens cook the same so I would cook it longer next time. Test the rice to make sure it’s done.

    If you add the liquid first, then salt and pepper. Just saying

    I'm here because my mom used to make this and I wanted to start cooking more home-cooked meals for my 5 year old twins. I want to say my mom floured and browned them because I remember a nice rich brown color on the pork chop. Do you think that would be ok?

    • @paulalanier7982
      @paulalanier7982 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flour might cook off or at best case not stay crisp since it would steam in the covered dish. I’m sure it would add to the flavor. Was her recipe similar to this with rice on the bottom?

    • @SJ-ni6iy
      @SJ-ni6iy ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw another recipe, where they browned the pork chops without breading them.
