Yes. Sometimes it's easier to be brave or cope and ignore your own emotions when you're focused on a task or comforting someone else. Brutus was able to comfort himself both by repeating it, and also by the act of comforting Pixie. Which I love how that's depicted here ❤️💙
Hit me right in the feels. Dad went on two tours in Iraq and for months after he got back he had little things that told you what he went through. Things like tensing during thunderstorms and going for the door handle when we stopped in traffic at a red light. Many thanks for bringing this up.

As a veteran, this made me emotional. People, there are SO MANY military vets that need support . My daughter is the Pixie to my Brutus, but many others have no one to lean on for help. Thank you for this one
Hope u can one day recover from all the things u had to see as a person from Ukraine I can understand not all but at least some of the things that happen at war its brutal, violent and heart breaking but I hope u have a peaceful life and I mean that 😊
My husband is the same. He's terrified of storms but the moment our son needs him to save him from the scary lightning then he's suddenly superman. The power of being needed is stronger than a lot of people realize.

If anyone is wondering what the soldier said, it roughly translates to "Brutus! Don't worry my friend, stay calm." Edit: why is it so hard for people to understand that this is for people who don't know?
That's for the most part what PTSD is described as, and I know my uncle has it. Props to the animator for summing it up well, and it deserves more support because the dub is amazing.

The way he didn't fully understand where he was until she mentioned the sounds were just thunder and even then he still felt like his harness was there up until he could feel her there instead. Poor Brutus... He's a good boy ❤
This is literally what PTSD flashbacks are like though. You’re in that exact place where it all started and you lose all sense of surrounding. I’m glad the artist was able to draw this so well and help give some representation.
@@RobloxLife4390 I'm assuming you're referring to the losing all sense of the surrounding part? Because I also have anxiety, but flash backs and anxiety attacks are different, at least in my experience.

This brought literal tears to my eyes. I know the struggle of PTSD, and it's no joke. But having someone there for you through it, and even just tough times means the whole universe to one person. I still thank my internet friends for saving my life, and my gf helping me through panic attacks. You guys stay safe and don't be afraid to ask for help ❤
I ask for help and people push me away or say I'm too much effort or say they'll help but abandon me when i need them so i just try to be there for myself because no one else will.
I love how when brutus is in his flashback, his voice is different, even while talking with pixi, he sounds young and like he did before, then as soon as he realizes hes not on the field, and its just thunder, his voice goes back to his normal self, very nice touch

My mom’s dad was a veteran in the Vietnam war, serving the US. He’s alive and well today at 76, though he has been diagnosed with a skin cancer linked to the war, previously thought eczema, but he’s open to talking about his experiences. Lots of times, people have such bad PTSD, they don’t even want to talk about it after retiring from the army. As a message to everyone who’s served, people, their army dogs, everyone in the army… Thank you for your service.
Brutus reminds me a lot of my dad, sometimes whenever we’re watching movies (Predator, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket etc) and he walks away from it, he would always say “can you guys hear the helicopter blades too?” He always sounds so panicked and afraid because he always thinks he’s going to be back in the jungle..when I tell him it’s from the movie he calms down and have a panic attack sometimes. So watching Brutus come out of that experience is what I think my dad goes through sometimes. I love my dad and I love this comic series and watching Brutus made my heart break for him.
Oh gosh, I can't imagine a worst nightmare for Brutus than Pixie getting into the horrors he saw. I was expecting him to freak out way more than that when she showed up on his battlefield. PTSD can mess your mind so hard, he could have burst out of fear for her believing she is really in danger, before the memory dissipate. The scene is already great, but taken just a little further I would have burst into tears. Thanks for that awesome duo.

While in War only the innocents suffer because the ones who wanted the war and started it never see the battlefields only numbers on paper behind their fancy desks in their office/mansions. While innocent men and women die for those devils to turn a profit of some kind.

This is deep. I had relatives who were veteran. My uncle recently passed away as the side effects of chemical attacks. Prayers to all veterans with PTSD.
I know how Brutus feels In these types of situations, and It's sad to see how some people make It worse, but It ment the world to me when Pixie showed up. And the way Brutus' harness didn't fully go away until Pixie layed on him❤

Oh my.god he got PTSD. Even though he was going through his own situation with the thunder he still managed to make sure pixie felt safe and secure by remaining calm no matter how bad things get its, just remain calm.

This is an amazing representation of PTSD. Its simple, sometimes youre unaware its even happening. Sometimes you dont know what caused it. People with PTSD really thank those around them that just show gentle kindess or worry. You dont want shock them. You want them to slowly come back to reality. I saw this a few times when i was in a mental hospital. Its easiest to just br there and help them.
Even when Brutus is her older brother, he sometimes behaves like a dad. Many good parents are like that. No matter how scared they are, they overcome their fears for the peace of their children.
This video hit... Differently. I've only seen jokes come through about PTSD but, that felt real. Amazing work, I'ma just sit here and think for a moment.
It’s so sad. Even though he was taken out of that situation, the memories still scar his innocent mind. This is just a theory but what is Pixie is Brutus’s old owner reincarnated into a cat. And really, deep down inside Pixie, is the soul and memory of Sarge. What if Pixie truly understands what Brutus has seen and just want to comfort him. And this is just a theory but every time Brutus needs support, Pixie is right there. I don’t think this is a coincidence. I believe Pixie knows who Brutus was.
Truly a heartwarming thing. A kid just walks in looking for comfort when adult also needs it, only for the adult to remember they have someone else to protect from this. I feel so bad for Brutus- well, no. All war vets, whether enemy or ally. To think this is only a miniscule fraction of a fraction of what they feel/felt.
This is such a sweet way to spread awareness, my step-dad was PTSD and Once when he was high he said this while crying: "i shot a little boy... we where in a barn I had to disarm a bomb... the bomb was strapped to him...I killed him" now he was PTSD and its triggered by large crowds like from the war he was in.❤
Poor Brutus had to go through that. Pixie was so confused and she was so scared of the thunder and the fact she didn’t even question Brutus after he questioningly went “thund-?” She is so sweet

All war-dogs are. It's just that they were trained to hurt or kill and may experience the same trauma as their handlers

It’s so sad. Even though he was taken out of that situation, the memories still scar his innocent mind. This is just a theory but what is Pixie is Brutus’s old owner reincarnated into a cat. And really, deep down inside Pixie, is the soul and memory of Sarge. What if Pixie truly understands what Brutus has seen and just want to comfort him. And this is just a theory but every time Brutus needs support, Pixie is right there. I don’t think this is a coincidence. I believe Pixie knows who Brutus was.
Pixie was sent by God, who knows everything.
You become a whole lot less scared when you have someone else besides yourself to worry about.

Truly a heartwarming thing. A kid just walks in looking for comfort when adult also needs it, only for the adult to remember they have someone else to protect from this.
I feel so bad for Brutus- well, no. All war vets, whether enemy or ally. To think this is only a miniscule fraction of a fraction of what they feel/felt.
When you realize how fundamentally important that moment of clarity is… PTSD is no joke and it’s not just a combat vet thing either.

This is such a sweet way to spread awareness, my step-dad was PTSD and Once when he was high he said this while crying: "i shot a little boy... we where in a barn I had to disarm a bomb... the bomb was strapped to him...I killed him" now he was PTSD and its triggered by large crowds like from the war he was in.❤
