What a backhanded comment about Hawthorn and North being like for like. North won 5 games in the last 2 years while Hawthorn won 7 last year alone. They are not built the same and clearly Hawthorn has surpassed North in the rebuild already since its commitment 2-3 years ago.

I see bigger problems ahead, Tassie for starters. Are North going south. Is Tassie going to be treated in the same manner as GCS. I firmly believe that Dimmer moving to GCS was a move instigated by the AFL . I reckon there's s few secrets written in swiss there. So the bottom sides will suffer further, due to AFL project clubs. North will be one of them.

So, North will cop more and more criticism until they put effort and system on the field, until then they are going to cop it hard, as will the coach. Alastair Clarkson is overrated now; he wasn't but he is now. Clarkson and North now have to convince the footy world they are the real deal. @@ChiaroScuro-Pie It's never as bad or as good as you think. West Coast still has a lot of talented and experienced senior players on their list such as Yeo, Kelly, Cripps, Gaff, McGovern, Darling, Petruccelle, Barass, Ryan and many more in the 23-26 range. Lets not start drinking the bathwater because they've won two games and Reed kicked a few. West Coast lost their first three this year by 50, 70 and 75 which was worse than North, who had a particularly difficult starting draw for such an inexperienced side.
The one thing I will say is that winning that game last year to lose Reed was borderline insanity, I don't give a fiddlers fart about team morale.
I still back Clarkson in to turn this ship around if he's given a clear run at it, people just have to have a bit of patience. They had Simpson all but lynched until a fortnight ago, that's how quickly it can turn.

I’m just here to see what excuse they use this week to be ‘still not sure about’ Sydney and the craziness behind who they put in their top 4. Wasn’t disappointed.
Apparently all the decent teams they beat who are otherwise having a good year (Demons, Pies, Bombers, Suns) just didn’t play well. Ignores the once in a decade form of Heeney or impact of Grundy and instead would ‘just like to see how they are once Parker comes back’. Would much prefer it if they were honest and said ‘we haven’t really looked at Sydney much as we don’t really give a crap about the northern teams’.

We were savaged by injuries for 2 years straight, and I think some stability is the reason why we've been (more than) decent the last 2 weeks. No I think this is right (as a WCE supporter). The challenge at west coast has been the development of players between 22-27. Allen, Waterman, Cole, Duggan, Flynn (hasn’t played yet), pettreccele, Ryan, B. Williams and witherden are the only best 22 players in that range and probably only Allen and maybe Ryan are in the top six player at the club. So this year the 28+ players are going really well - Yeo, Gov, TB, TK etc and the 21 and unders are showing real signs - Harley obviously but also Maric, Ginbey, Long, Hough, Brockman etc. So we try to build this group before we lose too much of the 28+ guys.

To be fair to North, I don't think they're like for like with Hawthorn. The Hawks have a few very good senior players, and a just more athletic bodies all over the ground.
North have a bit of experience but Logue and Coleman-Jones are injured and players like Greenwood and others are giving them very little most of the time. They need a couple more seasons in the gym, another big bodied forward, a big backman and some grunt around the ball. There's not much they can do about that really, it's just time and drafting. Losing Goldstein was massive for that team and don't forget Ziebel, McKay and Cunnington etc.
It's gonna take some time, but Clarko can coach and I'd back him to get this thing competitive quicker than most people could. At least he's not shutting up shop and going man on man and throwing an extra bloke back to limit scoring against, he's letting em' have a crack.

Sorry north supporters but karma is coming for clarkson for his past discreations. To make it worst reid looks like he is going to be the games best player and for one win in the second last round in 2023, he woud have been a north player...

What's the significance of the Pies 3 early losses and their 6 day breaks opposed to the wins after rnd 3 including having a 13 day break... Gifted 2 byes this year and poor Mcrae was embarrassed when the question of AFL fixture fairness was asked... He admitted it isn't fair!!!! 😂😂😂

Hawthorn are a long long way ahead of north Melbourne in talent, that was clear yesterday with Hawks missing - jiath, Day, Watson etc.

How do you get the AFL to take Hawthorns draft picks and give them to you for Ben McKay and you still lose by 10 goals Kingy? 😂
